The staching satin embedded in the abdominal cavity of rats could be absorbed rapidly without any macroscopic residue or organic abnormality in one week. After being embedded outside the dura mater of rats for a week, some stanching satin was found to remain in the form of unadherent small soft balls which disappeared in one more week. In the pathological examination no residue in cells was found in the major organs, and no degeneration, necrosis, hemorrhage or thrombosis in these organs and the vessels was observed. All the biochemical parameters in blood and routine urine examination were in the normal ranges. The results of the three behavior function tests were negative. It showed S-100 stanching satin, embedded in the body of rats for 12 weeks, had neither general toxicity nor adverse effect on the higher nervous activity, general behavior and equilibrium function of rats.展开更多
This paper presents failure mechanisms of the soil at the caisson-tip with fillet during suction-assisted penetration of suction caissons in undrained clay.Theoretical solutions of resistance factor N_c of the caisson...This paper presents failure mechanisms of the soil at the caisson-tip with fillet during suction-assisted penetration of suction caissons in undrained clay.Theoretical solutions of resistance factor N_c of the caisson-tip are obtained in terms of the caisson-tip geometry ratio of the flat section of the caisson-tip to the caisson wall thickness m/t and adhesion factorsα_i along inside of caisson wall andα_b at the base of the caisson-tip.It is indicated that the factor N_c increases with the increase of m/t,α_i and a_b.The resistance factors N_c for the rough base(α_b=1)are larger by 0.57than that for the smooth base(α_b=0).Besides,the factors N_c of caisson-tip with flat base(m=t)are larger by 1.14 than that with full internal fillet(m=0).The required suction to penetrate suction caissons with various fillets is obtained in terms of the force equilibrium in vertical direction.The finite element limit analysis and centrifuge model test results are used to verify the rationality of the presented failure mechanisms and theoretical predictions.展开更多
It has been found in our past studies that the installation of asymmetric plate at the inlet of inducer is effective for the suppression of cavitation surge phenomenon.In the present study,the suction performance of 2...It has been found in our past studies that the installation of asymmetric plate at the inlet of inducer is effective for the suppression of cavitation surge phenomenon.In the present study,the suction performance of 2-bladed helical inducer with an inlet asymmetric plate is experimentally investigated.It is observed that the suction performance in large flow rate conditions is not significantly influenced by the asymmetric plate,whereas the head of inducer with the asymmetric plate increases just before the head breakdown in partial flow conditions.To understand the mechanism of this additional head,the flow measurements and the numerical simulations are carried out.It is found that the circumferential component of absolute velocity at the exit of inducer slightly increases with the development of cavitation in both cases with and without the inlet asymmetric plate,indicating the increase of the theoretical head.The theoretical head increase with the inlet asymmetric plate is also confirmed by the unsteady numerical simulations,suggesting that the additional head is achieved through the increase of the theoretical head with the change of the exiting flow from the inducer associated with some amount of cavitation.展开更多
