The sub-land/sub-pit affects the characteristic of the tracking error signal which is generated by the conventional differential phase detection (DPD) method in the signal waveform modulation multi-level (SWML) read-only disc. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a new tracking error detection method using amplitude difference. Based on the diffraction theory, the amplitude difference is proportional to the tracking error and is feasible to be used for obtaining the off-track information. The experimental system of the amplitude difference detection method is developed. The experimental results show that the tracking error signal derived from the new method has better performance in uniformity and signal-to-noise ratio than that derived from the conventional DPD method in the SWML read-only disc. 展开更多

In order to solve problems in high dynamic environment, a frequency-locked loop (FLL) assisted phase-locked loop (PLL) is put forward for carrier tracking. On the basis of the analysis of discriminators, the total phase error of the tracking loop is analyzed and a general error expression is derived. By using linearization and Jaffe-Rechtin coefficients, the performance of a special first order FLL-assisted second order PLL is analyzed to get a closed expression. Analysis results and simula- tions show that there exist an optimal FLL loop bandwidth and a optimal PLL loop bandwidth which can make the phase jitter much less than that when the PLL is used alone. 展开更多

Purpose The Space Environment Simulation and Research Infrastructure(SESRI)is a cluster of accelerators designed to simulate the cosmic radiation environment by generating particles of various types and energies.Among these accelerators,a synchrotron in the 300 MeV proton and heavy ion accelerator complex utilizes a multiturn injection scheme with four bump magnets to accumulate proton and heavy ion beams effectively.However,the bump magnetic field experiences a rapid drop rate of up to 1000 T/s,inevitably leading to a deviation(field tracking error)from the ideal magnetic field.The injection efficiency and particle distribution are significantly affected by this field tracking error,as evaluated by the ACCSIM code.Method During the device testing stage,the sources of field tracking errors were identified by analysis of the bump power supplies and the field of the magnets.Mitigation techniques were then implemented to reduce the field tracking error from[Math Processing Error]to[Math Processing Error]throughout the entire power supply,transmission cable,and magnet chain.Results Moreover,the successful injection and accumulation of beams during the operational phase of the synchrotron confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed mitigation methods.Additionally,a magnetic field measurement system was developed to monitor the magnetic field tracking error online.Conclusion The combination of the field tracking error mitigation methods and the measurement system provides valuable guidance for optimizing the magnetic fields with rapid drop rates. 展开更多

Laser tracking system (LTS) is an advanced device for large size 3D coordinates measuring with the advantages of broad range, high speed and high accuracy. However, its measuring accuracy is highly dominated by the geometric errors of the tracking mirror mechanism. Proper calibration of LTS is essential prior to the use of it for metrology. A kinematics model that describes not only the motion but also the geometric variations of LTS is developed. Through error analysis of the proposed model, it is claimed that gimbals axis misalignments and tracking mirror center off-set are the key contributors to measuring errors of LTS. A self-calibration method is presented of calibrating LTS with planar constraints. Various calibration strategies utilizing single-plane and multiple-plane constraints are proposed for different situations. For each calibration strategy, issues about the error parameter estimation of LTS are exploded to find out in which conditions these parameters can be uniquely estimated. Moreover, these conditions reveal the applicability of the planar constraints to LTS self-calibration. Intensive studies have been made to check validity of the theoretical results. The results show that the measuring accuracy of LTS has increased by 5 times since this technique for calibration is used. 展开更多

For this type of high intensity proton synchrotron, the chromaticity, space charge effects, and magnetic field tracking errors between the quadrupoles and the dipoles can induce beta function distortion and tune shift, and induce resonances. In this paper, the combined effects of chromaticity, magnetic field tracking errors and space charge on beam dynamics at CSNS/RCS are studied systemically. 3-D simulations with different magnetic field tracking errors are performed by using the code ORBIT, and the simulation results are compared with the case without tracking errors. 展开更多

Radar leveling system is the key equipment for improving the radar mobility and survival capability. A combined quantitative feedback theory (QFT) controller is designed for the radar truck leveling simulator in this paper, which suffers from strong nonlinearities and system parameter uncertainties. QFT can reduce the plant uncertainties and stabilize the system, but it fails to obtain high-precision tracking. This drawback can be solved by a robust QFT control scheme based on zero phase error tracking control (ZPETC) compensation. The combined controller not only possesses high robustness, but greatly improves the system performance. To verify the effiectiveness and the potential of the proposed controller, a series of experiments have been carried out. Experimental results have demonstrated its robustness against a large range of parameters variation and high tracking precision performance, as well as its capability of restraining the load coupling among channels. The combined QFT controller can drive the radar truck leveling platform accurately, quickly and stably. 展开更多

Small tracking error correction for electro-optical systems is essential to improve the tracking precision of future mechanical and defense technology.Aerial threats,such as“low,slow,and small(LSS)”moving targets,pose increasing challenges to society.The core goal of this work is to address the issues,such as small tracking error correction and aiming control,of electro-optical detection systems by using mechatronics drive modeling,composite velocity–image stability control,and improved interpolation filter design.A tracking controller delay prediction method for moving targets is proposed based on the Euler transformation model of a two-axis,two-gimbal cantilever beam coaxial configuration.Small tracking error formation is analyzed in detail to reveal the scientific mechanism of composite control between the tracking controller’s feedback and the motor’s velocity–stability loop.An improved segmental interpolation filtering algorithm is established by combining line of sight(LOS)position correction and multivariable typical tracking fault diagnosis.Then,a platform with 2 degrees of freedom is used to test the system.An LSS moving target shooting object with a tracking distance of S=100 m,target board area of A=1 m^(2),and target linear velocity of v=5 m/s is simulated.Results show that the optimal method’s distribution probability of the tracking error in a circle with a radius of 1 mrad is 66.7%,and that of the traditional method is 41.6%.Compared with the LOS shooting accuracy of the traditional method,the LOS shooting accuracy of the optimized method is improved by 37.6%. 展开更多

The Qi Tai Telescope(QTT),which has a 110 m aperture,is planned to be the largest scale steerable tele-scope in the world.Ideally,the telescope’s repeated pointing accuracy error should be less than 2.5 arc seconds(arcsec);thus,the telescope structure must satisfy ultra-high precision requirements.In this pur-suit,the present research envisages a reverse-design method for the track surface to reduce the difficulty of the telescope’s design and manufacture.First,the distribution characteristics of the test data for the track error were verified using the skewness coefficient and kurtosis coefficient methods.According to the distribution characteristics,the azimuth track error was simulated by a two-scale model.The error of the long period and short amplitude was characterized as large-scale and described by a trigonometric function,while the short period and high amplitude error was characterized as small-scale and simulated by a fractal function.Based on the two-scale model,effect of the error on the pointing accuracy was deduced.Subsequently,the relationship between the root mean square(RMS)of the track error and the RMS of the pointing accuracy error of the telescope was deduced.Finally,the allowable RMS value of the track error was derived from the allowable pointing accuracy errors.To validate the effectiveness of the new design method,two typical radio telescopes(the Green Bank Telescope(GBT)and the Large Millimeter Telescope(LMT))were selected as experimental examples.Through comparison,the theoretical calculated values of the pointing accuracy of the telescope were consistent with the measured values,with a maximum error of less than 10%. 展开更多

The operational principle, the impulse force and terminal guidance laws of terminal correction mortar projectiles(TCMP) are researched in this paper, by using the TCMP simulation program, key techniques such as the miss distance influenced by the acting point of impulse force, the impulse force value, the correction threshold, and the number of impulse rockets are researched in this paper. And the dual pulse control scheme is also studied. Simulation results indicate that the best acting point is near the center of gravity, sufficient correction resources are needed, the miss distance is insentive to the correction threshold, increasing the number of impulse rockets properly is beneficial to increase the hit precision, the velocity pursuit guidance law has less miss distance, the change of the attack angle is milder and the transient time becomes less in the dual impulse control scheme. These conclusions are important for choosing parameters and impulse correction schemes designed for TCMP. 展开更多

The angular glint in the near field plays an important role on radar tracking errors. To predict it more efficiently for electrically large targets, a new method based on graphical electromagnetic computing (GRECO) is proposed. With the benefit of the graphic card, the GRECO prediction method is faster and more accurate than other methods. The proposed method at the first time considers the special case that the targets cannot be completely covered by radar beams, which makes the prediction of radar tracking errors more self-contained in practical circumstances. On the other hand, the process of the scattering center extraction is omitted, resulting in possible angular glint prediction in real time. Comparisons between the simulation results and the theoretical ones validate its correctness and value to academic research and engineering applications. 展开更多

Moreover, a rigorous theorem is proposed and proven in this paper, which states that the tracking error under the optimal iterative learning control (ILC) law can converge to zero. It was determined that the short-time forecast effect was better than the original objective mode. By selecting four types of integration schemes after multiple mode path integration for those four objective modes, the forecast effect of the multi-mode path integration is better, on average, than any single model. This paper addresses the adaptive tracking control scheme for switched nonlinear systems with unknown control gain sign. The approach relaxes the hypothesis that the upper bound of function control gain is known constant and the bounds of external disturbance and approximation errors of neural'networks are known. RBF neural networks (NNs) are used to approximate unknown functions and an H-infinity controller is introduced to enhance robustness. The adaptive updating laws and the admissible switching signals have been derived from switched multiple Lyapunov function method. It's proved that the resulting closed loop system is asymptotically Lyapunov stable such that the output tracking error performance and H-infinity disturbance attenuation level are well obtained. Finally, a simulation example of Forced Duffing systems is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme and improve significantly the transient performance. 展开更多

As the traditional cross-coupling control method cannot meet the requirements for tracking accuracy and contour control accuracy in large curvature positions, an integrated control strategy of cross-coupling contour error compensation based on chord error constraint, which consists of a cross-coupling controller and an improved position error compensator, is proposed. To reduce the contour error, a PI-type cross-coupling controller is designed, with its stability being analyzed by using the contour error transfer function. Moreover, a feed rate regulator based on the chord error constraint is proposed, which performs speed planning with the maximum feed rate allowed by the large curvature position as the constraint condition, so as to meet the requirements of large curvature positions for the chord error. Besides, an improved position error compensation method is further presented by combining the feed rate regulator with the position error compensator, which improves the tracking accuracy via the advance compensation of tracking error. The biaxial experimental results of non-uniform rational B-splines curves indicate that the proposed integrated control strategy can significantly improve the tracking and contour control accuracy in biaxial contour following tasks. 展开更多

The progress of research and forecast techniques for tropical cyclone(TC)unusual tracks(UTs)in recent years is reviewed.A major research focus has been understanding which processes contribute to the evolution of the TC and steering flow over time,especially the reasons for the sharp changes in TC motion over a short period of time.When TCs are located in the vicinity of monsoon gyres,TC track forecast become more difficult to forecast due to the complex interaction between the TCs and the gyres.Moreover,the convection and latent heat can also feed back into the synoptic-scale features and in turn modify the steering flow.In this report,two cases with UTs are examined,along with an assessment of numerical model forecasts.Advances in numerical modelling and in particular the development of ensemble forecasting systems have proved beneficial in the prediction of such TCs.There are still great challenges in operational track forecasts and warnings,such as the initial TC track forecast,which is based on a poor pre-genesis analysis,TC track forecasts during interaction between two or more TCs and track predictions after landfall.Recently,artificial intelligence(AI)methods such as machine learning or deep learning have been widely applied in the field of TC forecasting.For TC track forecasting,a more effective method of center location is obtained by combining data from various sources and fully exploring the potential of AI,which provides more possibilities for improving TC prediction. 展开更多

A compound controller is proposed to alleviate the considerable chattering in output of zero phase error tracking controller (ZPETC), when the flight simulator losses command data of simulation signal. Besides, the shortcomings, caused by conventional differential methods in retrieving velocity and acceleration signals, are avoided to a certain extent. The compound controller based on disturbance observer (DOB) is composed of a feed-forward controller and a feedback controller. It estimates velocity and acceleration of unknown tracking signal, and also velocity response with an approximate method for differential. The experiments on a single-axis flight simulator show that the proposed method has strong robustness against parameter perturbations and external disturbances, owing to the introduced DOB. Compared with the scheme with ZPETC, the proposed scheme possesses more simple design and better tracking performance. Moreover, it is less sensitive to position command distortion of flight simulator. 展开更多
