Communication based train control systems(CBTC) must work even in the worst situation—train crossing.This paper models the propagation characteristics in one of the most common and pivotal scenarios—train crossing i...Communication based train control systems(CBTC) must work even in the worst situation—train crossing.This paper models the propagation characteristics in one of the most common and pivotal scenarios—train crossing in subway tunnels which is rarely mentioned in previous publications.Firsdy,measurements for train crossing scenario at 2.4 GHz in a real subway line in Madrid have been made.The field measurement is the most reliable way to reveal the propagation characteristics involving shadowing effect and fast fading.Moreover,to precisely describe the fast fading distribution and eliminate the inevitable weak points of traditional fitting way,a best numerical approximation method using Legendre orthogonal polynomials has been proposed.Comparisons show that this method works better and is of greater physical significance.Finally,a complete statistical model is given and all the coefficients can be applied by system designers for the link and system level simulations.展开更多

It is a two-phase process including motion control information collection from natural langu...A support vector rule based method is investigated for the construction of motion controllers via natural language training. It is a two-phase process including motion control information collection from natural language instructions, and motion information condensation with the aid of support vector machine (SVM) theory. Self-organizing fuzzy neural networks are utilized for the collection of control rules, from which support vector rules are extracted to form a final controller to achieve any given control accuracy. In this way, the number of control rules is reduced, and the structure of the controller tidied, making a controller constructed using natural language training more appropriate in practice, and providing a fundamental rule base for high-level robot behavior control. Simulations and experiments on a wheeled robot are carried out to illustrate the effectiveness of the method.展开更多

The data communication system (DCS) between trains a...Communication based train control (CBTC) system is based on mobile communication and overcomes fixed blocks in order to increase track utilization and train safety. The data communication system (DCS) between trains and wayside equipment is a crucial factor for the safe and efficient operation of CBTC system. The dependability under various transmission conditions needs to be modeled and evaluated. In this paper,a stochastic reward net (SRN) model for DCS based IEEE 802.11 standard was developed,which captures all relevant failure and failure recovery behavior system aspects in a concise way. We compared the reliability,availability for DCS with and without access point (AP) and antenna redundant configuration. We also quantitatively evaluated and compared the frame loss probability for three DCS configurations with different train velocities and train numbers in one radio cell. Fixed-point iteration was adopted to simplify the analysis. Numerical results showed the significant improvement of the reliability,availability and the frame loss probability index for the full redundant configuration.展开更多
