Spread Spectrum (SS) is a promising technique to resist interference in wireless communication system In order to further improve this capability, this paper proposes a Hybrid Carrier (HC) SS system, combining 4-Weighted Fractional Fourier Transform (4-WFRFT) with SS technique. In this HC-SS system, due to the property of 4- WFRFT, the signal energy of proposed system is distributed on the time-frequency plane more evenly and symmmetrically, compared with the existing Single-Cartier (SC) and Multi-Carrier (MC) spread spectrum systems. In the selective channel, the proposed method can split the interference to a more broad range in order to reduce the influence, resulting in the better system perforrmnce. In addition, proposed system can be seen as the convergence of the existing SS techniques, which is a main feature in future. 展开更多

Objective Appropriate medical imaging is important for value-based care.We aim to evaluate the performance of generative pretrained transformer 4(GPT-4),an innovative natural language processing model,providing appropriate medical imaging automatically in different clinical scenarios.Methods Institutional Review Boards(IRB)approval was not required due to the use of nonidentifiable data.Instead,we used 112 questions from the American College of Radiology(ACR)Radiology-TEACHES Program as prompts,which is an open-sourced question and answer program to guide appropriate medical imaging.We included 69 free-text case vignettes and 43 simplified cases.For the performance evaluation of GPT-4 and GPT-3.5,we considered the recommendations of ACR guidelines as the gold standard,and then three radiologists analyzed the consistency of the responses from the GPT models with those of the ACR.We set a five-score criterion for the evaluation of the consistency.A paired t-test was applied to assess the statistical significance of the findings.Results For the performance of the GPT models in free-text case vignettes,the accuracy of GPT-4 was 92.9%,whereas the accuracy of GPT-3.5 was just 78.3%.GPT-4 can provide more appropriate suggestions to reduce the overutilization of medical imaging than GPT-3.5(t=3.429,P=0.001).For the performance of the GPT models in simplified scenarios,the accuracy of GPT-4 and GPT-3.5 was 66.5%and 60.0%,respectively.The differences were not statistically significant(t=1.858,P=0.070).GPT-4 was characterized by longer reaction times(27.1 s in average)and extensive responses(137.1 words on average)than GPT-3.5.Conclusion As an advanced tool for improving value-based healthcare in clinics,GPT-4 may guide appropriate medical imaging accurately and efficiently。 展开更多

A hybrid carrier (HC) DS CDMA communication system is proposed, combining 4-weighted fractional Fourier transform (4-WFRFT) with code division multiple access (CDMA) technique. The signals are modulated in a certain order fractional Fourier domain and transformed by 4-WFRFT to compose the hybrid carrier signals. In the time domain CDMA technique is adopted for multiple accesses and time diversity gain. Compared to orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system, in which Fourier transform is adopted, the signal energy in HC system is distributed on the time-frequency plane more evenly and symmetrically. Thus, when there is a deep fading notch or single-frequency interference in the channel, the proposed method can split the interference to a broader range in order to reduce the influence, resulting in the better system performance. Moreover, the performances of the proposed system, such as peak-to-average power rate (PAPR) and security are also discussed in the paper. 展开更多

A 4-quadrant Curvelet Transform for Denoising Digital Images 被引量:2

The conventional discrete wavelet transform (DWT) introduces artifacts during denoising of images containing smooth curves. Finite ridgelet transform (FRIT) solved this problem by mapping the curves in terms of small curved ridges. However, blind application of FRIT all over an image is computationally heavy. Finite curvelet transform (FCT) selectively applies FRIT only to the tiles containing small portions of a curve. In this work, a novel curvelet transform named as 4-quadrant finite curvelet transform (4QFCT) based on a new concept of 4-quadrant finite ridgelet transform (4QFRIT) has been proposed. An image is band pass filtered and the high frequency bands are divided into small non-overlapping square tiles. The 4QFRIT is applied to the tiles containing at least one curve element. Unlike FRIT, the 4QFRIT takes 4 sets of radon projections in all the 4 quadrants and then averages them in time and frequency domains after denoising. The proposed algorithm is extensively tested and benchmarked for denoising of images with Gaussian noise using mean squared error (MSE) and peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR). The results confirm that 4QFCT yields consistently better denoising performance quantitatively and visually. 展开更多

Fe3O4 nano-whiskers were synthesized via ultrasonic-aided reduction of FeCl2.4H2O with N2H4-H2O in concentrated NaOH solution. Phase identification and morphology observation were conducted by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM). Face scanning energy dispersive spectrum (face scanning EDS) and twodimensional fast Fourier transform (2DFFF) for element distribution were carried out for confirming composition homogeneity. From XRD and TEIVI, the synthesized Fe304 nano-whiskers are of cubic phase with average dimension of 20 nm~ 200 nm (average aspect ratio of 10). FE-SEM shows that the nanowhiskers without dispersion are interconnected into a network at a scale of 20μm. 2DFFT of the distribution of Fe and O from face scanning EDS confirms the composition homogeneity of the synthesized Fe3O4. Hydrazine hydrate determines the formation of the nano-whiskers, while the possible mechanism is the preferred growth along certain orientation with the aid of ultrasonic treatment. 展开更多

A2B2O7 pyrochlore is a kind of important functional materials for different purposes,which has been investigated extensively by crystallographers and material scientists.However,the catalytic chemistry of this type of special compounds has rarely been documented,though a few researchers have tried to synthesize some pyrochlore compounds with different chemical compositions for a variety of green energy production and air pollution control reactions in the history.With the expectation to help catalysis scientists to get better acquaintance with,and gain deeper understanding on this type of compounds as heterogeneous catalysts,the major publications over the past several decades have been screened and reviewed in this paper,based also on our own experience of studying on this type of catalytic materials.The crystalline phase transformations of the compounds with the change of the A and B site cations,the phase change’s influences on the surface and bulk properties,and their subsequent impact on the catalytic performance for different reactions have been summarized.Furthermore,the future work which needs to be performed to perceive in depth this kind of important materials as catalysts has been proposed and suggested.We trust that this short review contains valuable information,which will provide great help for people to get better cognition for A2 B2 O7 pyrochlore compounds,and assist them to develop better catalysts for various reactions. 展开更多

The effect of gas phase polydimethylsiloxane surface treatment of metallic aluminum particles: Surface characterization and flow behavior

Aluminum particles were exposed to gaseous polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) to produce a hydropho- bic surface coating for enhanced flow and fluidity. Surface retention of the intact PDMS was confirmed through infrared and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Transmission electron microscopy was used to image cross-sections of the treated particles and energy dispersive spectroscopy element maps demon- strated the presence of a surface layer consisting of silicon and oxygen. Density measurements provided evidence for improvements in the Hausner ratio and Carr index of the PDMS-treated aluminum, indicating a reduction in inter-particulate cohesion through increased bulk density. Stability, compressibility, shear, aeration, and permeability of the particles were assessed by powder rheometer. The compressibility was reduced by approximately 32% following surface treatment, revealing a reduction in void space, while Mohr's circle analysis and shear testing determined that the extrapolated cohesion value was reduced by approximately 53% and the flow factor at 6 kPa was doubled. Aeration testing showed that the air velocity required to obtain a fluidized bed was on the order of 0.35 mm/s for the treated powder, whereas the raw powder could not be uniformly fluidized. PDMS may be a viable option for the large-scale treatment of aluminum powder for flow applications. 展开更多
