However, traditional wave equation-based simulation methods have to consider complex boundary conditions at the fluid-solid interface. To address this challenge, we propose a novel numerical scheme that integrates the lattice Boltzmann method(LBM) and lattice spring model(LSM). In this scheme, LBM simulates viscoacoustic wave propagation in the fluid area and LSM simulates elastic wave propagation in the solid area. We also introduce three different LBM-LSM coupling strategies, a standard bounce back scheme, a specular reflection scheme, and a hybrid scheme, to describe wave propagation across fluid-solid boundaries. To demonstrate the accuracy of these LBM-LSM coupling schemes, we simulate wave propagation in a two-layer model containing a fluid-solid interface. We place excitation sources in the fluid layer and the solid layer respectively, to observe the wave phenomena when seismic waves propagate to interface from different sides. The simulated results by LBM-LSM are compared with the reference wavefields obtained by the finite difference method(FDM) and the analytical solution(ANA).Our LBM-LSM coupling scheme was verified effective, as the relative errors between the LBM-LSM solutions and reference solutions were within an acceptable range, sometimes around 1.00%. The coupled LBM-LSM scheme is further used to model seismic wavefields across a more realistic rugged seabed, which reveals the potential applications of the coupled LBM-LSM scheme in marine seismic imaging techniques, such as reverse-time migration and full-waveform inversion. The method also has potential applications in simulating wave propagation in complex two-and multi-phase media.展开更多

It is pointed out that there exist a stable and an unstable air-sea interaction modes in the tropical coupled system , respectively. The propagation of the unstable mode relies greatly on the zonal space scale, i. e. only for wave length ranging from 5 000 km to 10 000 km can the disturbance unstably move slowly eastward. The waves that slowly propagate unstably eastward agree well with the observational facts. However, the propagation mechanism behind this coexistence phenomenon remains unclear. In this paper, a three-dimensional electric field coupled hippocampal neural network is established to investigate generation of coexisting spontaneous fast and slow traveling waves. This model captures two types of dendritic traveling waves propagating in both transverse and longitude directions: the N-methyl-D-aspartate(NMDA)-dependent wave with a speed of about 0.1 m/s and the Ca-dependent wave with a speed of about 0.009 m/s. These traveling waves are synaptic-independent and could be conducted only by the electric fields generated by neighboring neurons, which are basically consistent with the in vitro data measured experiments. It is also found that the slow Ca wave could trigger generation of fast NMDA waves in the propagation path of slow waves whereas fast NMDA waves cannot affect the propagation of slow Ca waves. These results suggest that dendritic Ca waves could acted as the source of the coexistence fast and slow waves. Furthermore, we also confirm the impact of cellular spacing heterogeneity on the onset of coexisting fast and slow waves. The local region with decreasing distances among neighbor neurons is more liable to promote the onset of spontaneous slow waves which, as sources, excite propagation of fast waves. These modeling studies provide possible biophysical mechanisms underlying the neural dynamics of spontaneous traveling waves in brain tissues.展开更多

The mean value of the measured delay times is 0.054 s and far less than that from Pms splitting analysis, indicating that the crustal anisotropy is contributed mostly from mid-lower crust. The fast polarization directions are mostly sub-parallel to the maximum horizontal compression directions while the stations near fault zones show fault-parallel fast polarization directions, suggesting both stress and geological structure contribute to the upper crust anisotropy.Comparing fast polarization directions from shear wave splitting of local earthquakes and Pms, large angle differences are shown at most stations, implying different anisotropy properties between upper and mid-lower crust. However, in southwestern Yunnan, the fast polarization directions of Pms and Swave splitting are nearly parallel, and the stress and surface strain rate directions show strong correlation, which may indicate that the surface and deep crust deformations can be explained by the same mechanism and the surface deformation can represent the deformation of the whole crust. Therefore, the high correlation between surface strain and mantle deformation in this area suggests the mechanical coupling between crust and mantle in southwestern Yunnan. In the rest region of Yunnan, the crustmantle coupling mechanisms are supported by the lack of significant crustal anisotropy with Ne S fast polarization directions from Pms splitting. Therefore, we conclude that the crust and upper mantle are coupled in Yunnan, SE margin of Tibetan Plateau.展开更多

A 2-DOF(degree of freedom) coupling dynamical equations of the platform heave and vertical motions of the moonpool water are derived. The linear wave theory is used to simulate the random waves. The response statistical values and the power spectrums are calculated to analyze the mutual influences between the platform heave and the moonpool water motions for different opening ratios of the moonpool. The effect of coupling parameters on the platform heave and the moonpool water motions are analyzed. The results show that motions of the moonpool water significantly affected the platform heave when the characteristic wave period is far away from the natural period of the platform heave, and different moonpool opening ratios lead to different heave amplitudes of the platform. In the actual design, an optimized moonpool opening ratio can be designed to reduce heave motions of the platform.展开更多

The most obvious reason for the appearance of surface-waves is a process of interaction between atmosphere and sea surface that results in wind generation. Wave predictions are usually issued for a maximum of a few days for using in different fields such as shipping, fishing, oil industry, tourism, and to increase the safety of seafarers and beach habitants, maintaining economic assets and optimal utilization of natural resources. In this study, SWAN model has been run for this research over the Oman sea and the Persian Gulf. For implementation of SWAN, another dynamic model with prediction ability of 99-hours also has been used. In this example, wind field is obtained from the outputs of the WRF model converted to the required format for SWAN model. The computational network of SWAN model has been set to spatial grid points of 6 minutes with 1-hour temporal scale. Standard validation ways, including experimental verification, Multiplicative Bias, Mean Error and Root Mean Square Error are used in this study by comparing together for evaluation of accuracy of the model outputs. The results show that the prediction of wave heights by the model for 9 to 24-hour prediction could be the most accurate.展开更多

In the proposed model, an unstructured finite element model (FEM) based Boussinesq equations is applied for the numerical wave simulation, and a 2D piston-type wavemaker is used for the physical wave generation. An innovative scheme combining fourth-order Lagrange interpolation and Runge-Kutta scheme is described for solving the coupling equation. A Transfer function modulation method is presented to minimize the errors induced from the hydrodynamic invalidity of the coupling model and/or the mechanical capability of the wavemaker in area where nonlinearities or dispersion predominate. The overall performance and applicability of the coupling model has been experimentally validated by accounting for both regular and irregular waves and varying bathymetry. Experimental results show that the proposed numerical scheme and transfer function modulation method are efficient for the data transfer from the numerical model to the physical model up to a deterministic level.展开更多

Good coupling of LHW plasma has been demonstrated at different conditions in the HT-7 tokamak. Relevant results have proved that LHW-plasma coupling is affected by the phase difference between adjacent waveguides. Furthermore, the edge density around the grill and relevant coupling can be adjusted by changing the plasma line average density or the gap value between the LH grill and the last closed flux surfaces (LCFS). It is found that the coupling of LHWs becomes poor when the edge density around the LH grill is large enough in the HT-7 tokamak, and that coupling remains good with a proper edge density. With increasing LHW power, it is also found that the reflection coefficients (RCs) increase due to non-linear effects under conditions of low edge recycling, but can decrease under high edge recycling. The edge density depends mainly on the competition between the ponderomotive force (PMF) and the edge recycling intensity in the HT-7 tokamak.展开更多

文摘This paper presents the heave responses and the moonpool water motions of a truss Spar platform with semi-closed moonpool in random waves. In the actual design, an optimized moonpool opening ratio can be designed to reduce heave motions of the platform.
文摘Generation of waves is affected by forces that exerted constantly in the oceans. The results show that the prediction of wave heights by the model for 9 to 24-hour prediction could be the most accurate.

文摘The Laguerre polynomial method has been successfully used to investigate the dynamic responses of a half-space.However,it fails to obtain the correct stress at the interfaces in a layered half-space,especially when there are significant differences in material properties. Therefore,a coupled Legendre-Laguerre polynomial method with analytical integration is proposed. The Rayleigh waves in a one-dimensional(1D)hexagonal quasicrystal(QC)layered half-space with an imperfect interface are investigated. The correctness is validated by comparison with available results. Its computation efficiency is analyzed. The dispersion curves of the phase velocity, displacement distributions, and stress distributions are illustrated. The effects of the phonon-phason coupling and imperfect interface coefficients on the wave characteristics are investigated. Some novel findings reveal that the proposed method is highly efficient for addressing the Rayleigh waves in a QC layered half-space.It can save over 99%of the computation time. This method can be expanded to investigate waves in various layered half-spaces,including earth-layered media and surface acoustic wave(SAW)devices.

文摘Aiming at the problem that it is difficult to obtain the explicit expression of the structural matrix in the traditional train-bridge coupling vibration analysis,a combined simulation system of train-bridge coupling system(TBCS)under earthquake(MAETB)is developed based on the cooperative work of MATLAB and ANSYS.The simulation system is used to analyze the dynamic parameters of the TBCS of a prestressed concrete continuous rigid frame bridge benchmark model of a heavy-haul railway. The influence of different driving speeds, seismic wave intensities, and traveling wave effects on the dynamic response of the TBCS under the actions of the earthquakes is discussed. The results show that the bridge displacement increase in magnitude in the lateral direction is more significant than in the vertical direction under the action of an earthquake. The traveling wave effect can significantly reduce the lateral response of the bridge, but it will significantly increase the train derailment coefficient. When the earthquake intensity exceeds 0.2 g,the partial derailment coefficient of the train has exceeded the limit value of the specification.

文摘The fully developed turbulence can be regarded as a nonlinear system, with wave coupling inside, which causes the nonlinear energy to transfer, and drives the turbulence to develop further or be suppressed.Spectral analysis is one of the most effective methods to study turbulence system. In order to apply it to the study of the nonlinear wave coupling process of edge plasma turbulence,an efficient algorithm based on spectral analysis technology is proposed to solve the nonlinear wave coupling equation. The algorithm is based on a mandatory temporal static condition with the nonideal spectra separated from the ideal spectra. The realization idea and programing flow are given.According to the characteristics of plasma turbulence, the simulation data are constructed and used to verify the algorithm and its implementation program. The simulation results and experimental results show the accuracy of the algorithm and the corresponding program, which can play a great role in the studying the energy transfer in edge plasma turbulences. As an application, the energy cascade analysis of typical edge plasma turbulence is carried out by using the results of a case calculation.Consequently,a physical picture of the energy transfer in a kind of fully developed turbulence is constructed, which confirms that the energy transfer in this turbulent system develops from lower-frequency region to higher-frequency region and from linear growing wave to damping wave.

文摘An improved coupling of numerical and physical models for simulating 2D wave propagation is developed in this paper. Experimental results show that the proposed numerical scheme and transfer function modulation method are efficient for the data transfer from the numerical model to the physical model up to a deterministic level.

文摘Wave-soil-pipe coupling effect on the untrenched pipeline stability on sands is for the first time investigated experimentally. Tests are conducted in the U-shaped water tunnel, which generates an oscillatory how, simulating the water particle movements with periodically changing direction under the wave action. Characteristic times and phases during the instability process are revealed. Linear relationship between Froude number and non-dimensional pipe weight is obtained. Effects of initial embedment and loading history are observed. Test results between the wavesoil-pipe interaction and pipe-soil interaction under cyclic mechanical loading are compared. The mechanism is briefly discussed. For applying in the practical design, more extensive and systematic investigations are needed.

文摘Gradient magnetic heterointerfaces have injected infinite vitality in optimizing impedance matching, adjusting dielectric/magnetic resonance and promoting electromagnetic(EM)wave absorption, but still exist a significant challenging in regulating local phase evolution.Herein,accordion-shaped Co/Co_(3)O_(4)@N-doped carbon nanosheets(Co/Co_(3)O_(4)@NC)with gradient magnetic heterointerfaces have been fabricated via the cooperative high-temperature carbonization and lowtemperature oxidation process. The results indicate that the surface epitaxial growth of crystal Co_(3)O_(4) domains on local Co nanoparticles realizes the adjustment of magnetic-heteroatomic components, which are beneficial for optimizing impedance matching and interfacial polarization. Moreover, gradient magnetic heterointerfaces simultaneously realize magnetic coupling, and long-range magnetic diffraction.Specifically, the synthesized Co/Co_(3)O_(4)@NC absorbents display the strong electromagnetic wave attenuation capability of−53.5 dB at a thickness of 3.0 mm with an effective absorption bandwidth of 5.36 GHz,both are superior to those of single magnetic domains embedded in carbon matrix. This design concept provides us an inspiration in optimizing interfacial polarization, regulating magnetic coupling and promoting electromagnetic wave absorption.

文摘Experiments on lower hybrid wave (LHW) coupling were investigated in the HT- 7 tokamak. The edge density depends mainly on the competition between the ponderomotive force (PMF) and the edge recycling intensity in the HT-7 tokamak.

文摘We present a continuous-wave singly-resonant optical parametric oscillator with 1.5% output coupling of the reso- nant signal wave, based on an angle-polished MgO-doped periodically poled lithium niobate (MgO:PPLN), pumped by a commercial Nd:YVO4 laser at 1064 nm. The output-coupled optical parametric oscillator delivers a maximum total output power of 4.19 W with 42.8% extraction efficiency, across a tuning range of 1717 nm in the near- and mid-infrared region. This indicates improvements of 1.87 W in output power, 19.1% in extraction efficiency and 213 nm in tuning range exten- sion in comparison with the optical parametric oscillator with no output coupling, while at the expense of increasing the oscillation threshold by a factor of - 2. Moreover, it is confirmed that the finite output coupling also contributes to the reduction of the thermal effects in crystal.

文摘Based on the actual vane-loaded tape helix slow wave structure, a new theoretical analytic model for calculating coupling impedance is proposed by Chen Qingyou, et al.(1999)with calculated values of dispersion in good agreement with measured ones. In this paper, it is continued to use this model to calculate the coupling impedance of such a structure, and analyze the effects of the propagation power within vane gaps and the helix gap on the coupling impedance. As a result, the theoretical values are found to be in good agreement with the measured ones, with the maximum difference less than ±18%.
