The strength development law of γ-type dicalcium silicate (γ-C_(2)S) under different carbonation processes was investigated,and the carbonation mechanism of γ-C_(2)S under the action of NH_(4)HCO_(3) was clarified ...The strength development law of γ-type dicalcium silicate (γ-C_(2)S) under different carbonation processes was investigated,and the carbonation mechanism of γ-C_(2)S under the action of NH_(4)HCO_(3) was clarified by using a wide range of test methods,including XRD and SEM.A method of saturated NH_(4)HCO_(3) solution as a curing agent was identified to improve the carbonation efficiency and enhance the carbonation degree of γ-C_(2)S,and then a high-strength carbonated specimen was obtained.Microhardness analysis and SEM morphology analysis were conducted on the carbonised specimens obtained under atmospheric pressure carbonisation conditions using the curing agent.It was found that γ-C_(2)S could perform carbonisation well under atmospheric pressure,which promoted the carbonisation efficiency and decreased the carbonisation cost simultaneously.Therefore,a new carbonisation process solution was proposed for the rapid carbonisation of γ-C_(2)S.展开更多
AIM:To compare the postoperative binocular visual performance with an iTrace analyzer following femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery(FLACS)combined with bilateral implantation of two different types of diffract...AIM:To compare the postoperative binocular visual performance with an iTrace analyzer following femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery(FLACS)combined with bilateral implantation of two different types of diffractive trifocal intraocular lenses(IOL).METHODS:During this retrospective observational study,patients who received bilateral FLACS combined with implantation of two different types of diffractive trifocal IOLs were evaluated.According to the IOLs’different types and design,the patients were divided into AT LISA tri839MP group(tri839 group)and AcrySof PanOptix TFNT00 group(TFNT group).Study parameters included preoperative and postoperative uncorrected distance visual acuity(UDVA)at 5 m,uncorrected near visual acuity(UNVA)at 30 cm and 40 cm,uncorrected intermediate visual acuity(UIVA)at 60 cm and 80 cm,postoperative refractive status,objective visual qualities and total high order aberrations(HOAs)postoperatively.The postoperative complications were also recorded.RESULTS:Totally 56 eyes of 28 patients(tri839 group,n=26;TFNT group,n=30)were included.Preoperative baseline characteristics between groups were not statistically significantly different.UDVA was not significantly different between groups except for 1wk follow-up due to the postoperative corneal edema.TFNT group showed statistically significant better UNIA at 60 cm than tri839 group at the 1wk(0.05±0.19 vs 0.15±0.10 logMAR,P=0.013),1mo(0.05±0.12 vs 0.15±0.09 logMAR,P=0.001)and 3mo(0.04±0.12 vs 0.15±0.11 logMAR,P=0.001)follow-up,while tri839 group showed statistically significant better UNIA at 80 cm than TFNT group at the 1d(0.14±0.15 vs 0.20±0.14 logMAR,P=0.041)and 1mo(0.09±0.07 vs 0.14±0.10 logMAR,P=0.042)follow-up.Postoperative refractive status showed stable at every visit.Modulated transfer function(MTF)values and strehl ratio(SR)values were improved and HOAs were lower significantly after surgery.CONCLUSION:FLACS with bilateral implantations of both tri839 and TFNT00 can achieve satisfactory natural whole-course vision,high postoperative refractive stability and good visual quality but without significantly difference.iTrace aberration instrument can accurately evaluate the visual quality under different status.展开更多

Objective: The aim of the study was to assess whether the trans-cerebellar diameter, placental thickness or combining both of them is more accurate for assessment of gestational age in the 3<sup>rd</sup> trimester of pregnancy. Patients and Methods: This is a cross sectional study conducted at outpatient Clinic and Obstetric ward, Ain Shams University Maternity Hospital, over a period of six months from March 2019 to September 2019. One hundred pregnant women were recruited according to inclusion criteria either from outpatient clinic or were admitted in obstetric ward Ain Shams Maternity Hospital to find out the most accurate fetal biometric measurement in the third trimester either trans-cerebellar diameter placental thickness or both compared to reliable LMP (last menstrual period) dates confirmed by crown rump length (CRL) in the first trimester. Results: Trans-cerebellar diameter mean ± SD was 46.0 ± 3.5 with range 38.2 - 51.7. The mean of placental thickness was 39.6 ± 7.1 with range 22.8 - 54.3. Placental thickness had highest determination (0.813) for last menstrual period followed by trans-cerebellar diameter (0.802). Combining trans-cerebellar diameter and placental thickness increased determination (0.902) for last menstrual period. Conclusion: Combined use of trans-cerebellar diameter and placental thickness in the third trimester of pregnancy is a reliable indicator for gestational age in women whose last menstrual period is unreliable or unknown, but placental thickness had higher accuracy than trans-cerebellar diameter.展开更多

Step by step, the water degrades the exterior facings of the structures and ends up creating zones of weakness through the structures, making them...The problem with earth constructions is their low resistance to water. Step by step, the water degrades the exterior facings of the structures and ends up creating zones of weakness through the structures, making them collapse and creating enormous socio-economic problems, especially in rural areas. The solutions proposed to date, like the use of straw, cow dung, boiled skins, banana leaves, tar, cement soil, have shown their limits. Generally, the poor adhesion between the protected material and the protective layer means that the latter always ends up peeling off. This work, which is inspired by the traditional practice where plant tannins are used to brush the earthen walls to waterproof them, proposes a tri-layer coating composed of soil, powder and hydrolysable tannins extracted from the stem bark of Bridelia. This work focuses on the geotechnical characterization of the soil, the extraction of hydrolysable tannin, the manufacture of the micro-coating, the resistance tests carried out on the micro-coating, the technique of implementation and the test of evaluation of the performance of the tri-layer coating. The results obtained show that not only does the tri-layer coating adhere perfectly to the layer to protect, but it also waterproofs it and protects it against shocks.展开更多
