In view of the limitations of previous studies, this study details regional unit, expands index system, applies factor-analysis to structure index system, uses the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model to improve analytic hierarchy process, and identifies the economic developmental levels of 384 regions, including 4 municipalities, 333 cities at prefecture level, and 47 counties under the jurisdiction of province. The levels of the 47 counties are identified by dividing the rank of comprehensive values of more than 337 regions unit into five equal graduations and then matching the 47 counties with the five-graduation results. This study provides the distribution of resources-rich region in China qualitatively and quantitatively in terms of coal, oil gas and other 14 kinds of metal mineral resources. Finally, by matching the two parts of results, this study identifies the distribution of underdeveloped resource-rich regions (URRRs). URRRs are mainly distributed in Shaanxi, Shanxi, Guizhou, Yunnan, Sichuan, He’nan, Shandong, Guangxi and Gansu provinces, which accounts for 78.57% of the total in China. To a certain degree, the result of this paper proves that “resources curse” existing in the national stratification plane in later 20th century still takes places in some cities in China, especially in the counties of these cities’ jurisdiction.展开更多

The results showed that reform of government macro-policy is a fundamental driving force for the urbanization of underdeveloped hilly area in central China which then is co-promoted by economic development and social needs. During the urbanization, rural population is transferred locally or to the neighboring areas, traditional agriculture is gradually transferred to professional and characteristic agriculture. Non-agricultural economy has become a major income source of the locals, and also a major force for shaping rural economic spaces and natural landscapes, leading to the binary landscape layout of village. Weights of environment and traffic are improved in selecting relocation site for rural households, traditional affinity and neighborhood relationship is weakened, spatial differentiation of social and economic structures in the village is enhanced, which are all new tokens of the villagers' values and life concepts, and will lead to the further urbanization.展开更多

Consolidating and expanding the achievements of poverty alleviation and establishing a long-term mechanism to solve relative poverty have become key issues in high-quality development of underdeveloped areas. In this study, human-earth system is employed to analyze the element composition, structural organization and functional state of underdeveloped areas. The results show that poverty in underdeveloped areas stems from the lack of the coupling and coordinating mechanism among human, economic, resource and environmental elements, which is not conducive to transforming the ecological advantages into the advantages of regional development. In the antipoverty stage, underdeveloped areas innovate the human-earth coupling and coordinating mechanism through a series of targeted measures, promote the organic combination of poverty alleviation, ecological conservation and sustainable development, and boost the transformation of regional development and the increase of farmers’ incomes. Focusing on the 14 th Five-year Plan(2021–2025) and the long-term goal of 2035, governments in underdeveloped areas should make full use of the policy support to explore scientific methods of modern governance and sustainable development. In particular, it is necessary to practice the concept that "clear waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" and take the road of the ecologicalization of industry and the industrialization of ecology by establishing a policy system of "green land", "green people", "green industry" and "green right", thus building an endogenous growth mechanism of sustainable poverty alleviation and green development in China’s underdeveloped areas.展开更多

Moreover, our analysis reveals that driving forces originating from favorable macro policies, medium economy, and micro elements are needed to speed up the urbanization in such areas. Based on the case study, we proposes a new path pattern for urbanization of these UMCs in western & central China. In principle, this pattern mainly consists of two important strategies which are driven by a simultaneous development of industry and trade and the exploitation of local characteristics in both economics and culture. In addition, the practice of such a new urbanization path should be carried out through incremental development together with the construction of node-centralizing towns.展开更多

In particular, it is necessary to practice the concept that "clear waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" and take the road of the ecologicalization of industry and the industrialization of ecology by establishing a policy system of "green land", "green people", "green industry" and "green right", thus building an endogenous growth mechanism of sustainable poverty alleviation and green development in China’s underdeveloped areas.
基金research project of Natural Science Foundation of China named "Study of Path Pattern of County Level Urbanization and Spatial Organization in Central China:Take Hubei Province as an Example"(Project number:51178200) which was conducted by Professor Huang Yaping
文摘In the present work, features of urbanization of 24 underdeveloped mountainous counties(UMCs) in Hubei Province are analyzed and summarized, which includes low rates of urbanization, signifi cant nonlocal urbanization, undeveloped three industries, and a homogeneous spatial layout of underdeveloped towns. In addition, the practice of such a new urbanization path should be carried out through incremental development together with the construction of node-centralizing towns.
文摘Teacher training for primary and secondary schools in the underdeveloped areas in China was rather inadequate in terms of teaching skills. It's imperative to direct more attention to the English teachers in these areas and provide opportunities for them to receive in-service training so that they can update their subject matter knowledge and pedagogic knowledge to facilitate their teaching. In light of this demand, this paper presents a one-year-long program that is tailored to the needs of the secondary school teachers of English in the inland areas,by giving a detailed description of the knowledge base they need together with the rationale underlying such a design.
文摘Urinary incontinence (UI) is a distressing condition involving involuntary loss of urine from the body. Urinary incontinence can negatively impact a person’s overall quality of life and lead them into stages of embarrassment and depression. It is an underrepresented and undertreated condition prevalent in women, especially in low socioeconomic regions where women may not be able to express their concerns due to unawareness of diagnosis and treatment/management options. There are different diagnostic and management protocols for UI;however, utilizing artificially intelligent systems is not standard care.
