Moreover, network coding is proved to be an effective coding technique for throughput and robustness of networks. In this paper, we propose a Reliable Braided Multipath Routing with Network Coding for underwater sensor networks (RBMR-NC). Disjoint multi-path algorithm is used to build independent actual paths, as called main paths. Some braided paths on each main path are built according to the braided multi-path algorithm, which are called logic paths. When a data packet is transmitted by these nodes, the nodes can employ network coding to encode packets coming from the same group in order to further reduce relativity among these packets, and enhance the probability of successful decoding at the sink node. Braided multi-path can make the main paths to be multiplexed to reduce the probability of long paths. This paper mainly employs successful delivery rate to evaluate RBMR-NC model with theoretical analysis and simulation methods. The results indicate that the proposed RBMR-NC protocol is valuable to enhance network reliability and to reduce system redundancy.展开更多

Underwater media access control (MAC) protocols, which allow multiple users to share the common medium fairly and efficiently, are essential for the performance of UASNs. However, the design of MAC protocols is confronted with the challenges of spatial unfairness, data eruption, and low energy efficiency. In this paper, we propose a novel data concurrent transmission (DCT) MAC protocol, which is able to exploit long propagation delay and conduct concurrent transmission. Specifically, we present the theoretical performance analysis of the proposed MAC protocol in detail and give an analytical solution of the success concurrent transmission probability between nodes. In addition, simulation results are provided to demonstrate that our proposed protocol is appropriate for UASNs and can significantly improve the performance in terms of network throughput and energy consumption. 文摘Underwater target recognition is a key technology for underwater acoustic countermeasure. How to classify and recognize underwater targets according to the noise information of underwater targets has been a hot topic in the field of underwater acoustic signals. In this paper, the deep learning model is applied to underwater target recognition.Improved anti-noise Power-Normalized Cepstral Coefficients(ia-PNCC)is proposed, based on PNCC applied to underwater noises.Multitaper and normalized Gammatone filter banks are applied to improve the anti-noise capacity. The method is combined with a convolutional neural network in order to recognize the underwater target.Experiment results show that the acoustic feature presented by ia-PNCC has lower noise and are wellsuited to underwater target recognition using a convolutional neural network.Compared with the combination of convolutional neural network with single acoustic feature, such as MFCC(Mel-scale Frequency Cepstral Coefficients)or LPCC(Linear Prediction Cepstral Coefficients),the combination of the ia-PNCC with a convolutional neural network offers better accuracy for underwater target recognition.

文摘Autonomous underwater vehicles(AUV) work in a complex marine environment. Its system reliability and autonomous fault diagnosis are particularly important and can provide the basis for underwater vehicles to take corresponding security policy in a failure. Aiming at the characteristics of the underwater vehicle which has uncertain system and modeling difficulty, an improved Elman neural network is introduced which is applied to the underwater vehicle motion modeling. Through designing self-feedback connection with fixed gain in the unit connection as well as increasing the feedback of the output layer node, improved Elman network has faster convergence speed and generalization ability. This method for high-order nonlinear system has stronger identification ability. Firstly, the residual is calculated by comparing the output of the underwater vehicle model(estimation in the motion state) with the actual measured values. Secondly, characteristics of the residual are analyzed on the basis of fault judging criteria. Finally, actuator fault diagnosis of the autonomous underwater vehicle is carried out. The results of the simulation experiment show that the method is effective.

文摘Due to the nonlinearity and uncertainty, the precise control of underwater vehicles in some intelligent operations hasn’t been solved very well yet. A novel method of control based on desired state programming was presented, which used the technique of fuzzy neural network. The structure of fuzzy neural network was constructed according to the moving characters and the back propagation algorithm was deduced. Simulation experiments were conducted on general detection remotely operated vehicle. The results show that there is a great improvement in response and precision over traditional control, and good robustness to the model’s uncertainty and external disturbance, which has theoretical and practical value.

文摘The ocean plays an important role in maintaining the equilibrium of Earth’s ecology and providing humans access to a wealth of resources. To obtain a high-precision underwater image classification model,we propose a classification model that combines an EfficientnetB0 neural network and a two-hidden-layer random vector functional link network(EfficientnetB0-TRVFL).The features of underwater images were extracted using the EfficientnetB0 neural network pretrained via ImageNet,and a new fully connected layer was trained on the underwater image dataset using the transfer learning method.Transfer learning ensures the initial performance of the network and helps in the development of a high-precision classification model.Subsequently,a TRVFL was proposed to improve the classification property of the model.Net construction of the two hidden layers exhibited a high accuracy when the same hidden layer nodes were used. The parameters of the second hidden layer were obtained using a novel calculation method, which reduced the outcome error to improve the performance instability caused by the random generation of parameters of RVFL.Finally, the TRVFL classifier was used to classify features and obtain classification results. The proposed EfficientnetB0-TRVFL classification model achieved 87.28%,74.06%,and 99.59%accuracy on the MLC2008,MLC2009,and Fish-gres datasets, respectively. The best convolutional neural networks and existing methods were stacked up through box plots and Kolmogorov-Smirnov tests, respectively. The increases imply improved systematization properties in underwater image classification tasks. The image classification model offers important performance advantages and better stability compared with existing methods.

文摘This paper addresses the problem of three-dimensional trajectory tracking control for underactuated autonomous underwater vehicles in the presence of parametric uncertainties, environmental disturbances and input saturation.First,a virtual guidance control strategy is established on the basis of tracking error kinematics, which resolves the overall control system into two cascade subsystems. Then,a first-order sliding mode differentiator is introduced in the derivation to avoid tedious analytic calculation, and a Gaussian error function-based continuous differentiable symmetric saturation model is explored to tackle the issue of input saturation.Combined with backstepping design techniques, the neural network control method and an adaptive control approach are used to estimate composite items of the unknown uncertainty and approximation errors.Meanwhile,Lyapunov-based stability analysis guarantees that control error signals of the closed-loop system are uniformly ultimately bounded. Finally, simulation studies are conducted for the trajectory tracking of a moving target and a spiral line to validate the effectiveness of the proposed controller.

文摘Underwater wireless sensor networks(UWSNs) have attracted wide attention in recent years. The capacity research on it is still in the initial stage, lacking adequate performance evaluation for network construction. This paper will focus on this subject by theoretical analysis and simulation, aiming to provide some insights for the actual UWSNs construction.According to the structure features of cluster-based UWSNs and the propagation characteristics of underwater acoustic signal, with the combination of signal to interference plus noise ratio,we define some capacity performance metrics, such as outage probability and transmission capacity.Based on the theory of stochastic geometry,a network capacity analytical model used in the cluster-based UWSNs is presented. The simulation results verify the validity of the theoretical analysis, and the cause of error between theoretical and simulation results has also been clearly explained.

文摘Underwater Acoustic Sensor Network(UASN) has attracted significant attention because of its great influence on ocean exploration and monitoring. On account of the unique characteristics of underwater environment, localization, as one of the fundamental tasks in UASNs, is a more challenging work than in terrestrial sensor networks. A survey of the ranging algorithms and the network architectures varied with different applications in UASNs is provided in this paper. Algorithms used to estimate the coordinates of the UASNs nodes are classified into two categories: rangebased and range-free. In addition, we analyze the architectures of UASNs based on different applications, and compare their performances from the aspects of communication cost, accuracy, coverage and so on. Open research issues which would affect the accuracy of localization are also discussed, including MAC protocols, sound speed and time synchronization.

文摘This paper presents an original probabilistic model of a hybrid underwater wireless sensor network(UWSN),which includes a network of stationary sensors placed on the seabed and a mobile gateway. The mobile gateway is a wave glider that collects data from the underwater network segment and retransmits it to the processing center. The authors consider the joint problem of optimal localization of stationary network nodes and the corresponding model for bypassing reference nodes by a wave glider. The optimality of the network is evaluated according to the criteria of energy efficiency and reliability. The influence of various physical and technical parameters of the network on its energy efficiency and on the lifespan of sensor nodes is analyzed. The analysis is carried out for networks of various scales, depending on the localization of stationary nodes and the model of bypassing the network with a wave glider. As a model example, the simulation of the functional characteristics of the network for a given size of the water area is carried out.It is shown that in the case of a medium-sized water area, the model of“bypassing the perimeter”by a wave glider is practically feasible, energy efficient and reliable for hourly data measurements. In the case of a large water area, the cluster bypass model becomes more efficient.

文摘With the increasing demand for marine exploration, underwater acoustic sensor networks (UASNs) are prone to have the characteristics of large-scale, long term monitoring, and high data traffic load. Finally, we give some typical future applications of UASNs and discuss the demands on MAC protocol design.
