Air pollution has become a big problem after the water pollution in China, and a serious threat to people's life and health. Under the background of " the construction of beautiful China" and rapid urbanization, how to build a beautiful home has become the focus of attention. Taking Shenyang as an example, the author contrastively analyses the spatial distribution of the main air pollutants( PM10,PM2. 5,and SO2) and the present situation of land use,and thus finds out the rules between pollutants distribution and land use. Then combining the urban planning scheme and the rules obtained above, reasonable suggestions are proposed for the scheme to improve the air quality, and reduce or avoid air pollution, and providing the basis for the construction of a piece of blue sky. The conclusions are as follows: 1 air pollutants concentration above Light Oil Gas Making Factory in south vice city of Shenyang reaches the peak value, and industrial point source is the main air pollutants emission source; 2 pollutants concentration above greenbelt is the lowest; 3 the overall spatial structure of urban planning can insulate the industrial agglomeration areas to some extent; greenbelt planning covers 40%- 50% of the area with high concentration of air pollutants, and it is suggested to achieve full coverage; traffic planning can achieve shunt most of the pollutants in many regions, but it can also expand the scope of pollutants in some certain regions,in such regions,it should reduce the road density.展开更多

In terms of delineating sphere of urban influence, existing studies have been focused on static study by using single year data or single method, resulting in a lack of time-series longitudinal analysis or comprehensive analysis based on multiple methods This study emphasizes on comparing two methods from both the theoretical and empirical perspective. Both gravity model and improwd field model are applied to the selected study area for measurements and comparison, to explore their strengths and weaknesses. Industrial development in modern times has promoted the modernization of urban production in China. But the rural areas still maintain their traditional self-sufficient natural economy. After the Opium War, the process of modernization of city politics is promoted by more economic elements of capitalism and the formation of Chinese bourgeoisie. During the management of urban modernization, rural areas still adopt the traditional self-management mode. In the aspect of culture, city is the center of development, having large population, developed traffic, and prosperous culture. But the village is lack of information and its culture is relatively backward. In modern times, affected by the foreign capitalist, urban area has become the center of modern productivity. After separating from agriculture, handicraft industry has transferred into urban areas and the social division of labor in both urban and rural areas has shown great changes. Thus, a new pattern of "Urban Industry, Rural Agriculture" has formed.展开更多

It emphasizes that, developing as an applied discipline, the urban-rural planning discipline should strengthen the production of its own disciplinary knowledge based on the comprehensive use of various relevant disciplinary knowledge, and proposes corresponding paths, means, and basic issues of knowledge production. The paper also points out that the output of the knowledge and achievements of China's urban-rural planning discipline to other disciplines and other countries is an important foundation for the further development of this discipline.展开更多

As pioneers of urban planning practice, the city executives and technical experts of Shantou set a goal to build the city into a "perfect region" and "Garden City," aiming to create a precedent for "civil city development." Based on institutional construction and the introduction of European and American urban planning theories and experience, the rebirth of Shantou City with business characteristics had been gradually achieved by modifying and improving its city plans.展开更多

As for the urbanizing China, do the mainstream planning approaches fail to take equity issues into account? What are outcomes and the potential countermeasures based on Chinese cities' spatial and policy contexts? From the perspective of transportation equity, this article aims to examine the multidimensional effects related to equity concerns of urban transportation planning and policies in China. It suggests that the municipal government should enhance the service level of public transit and efficiently address the inequity issues of transportation systems. The potential measures include: building a multi-modal transit system, linking affordable housing to the transportation system, highlighting the role of non-motorized mode, and offering proper parking spaces around transit stations.展开更多
