Study on Sustainable Utilization of Resources of the Damp-heat Karst Mountainous Areas in China

Damp-heat karst mountainous areas are unique areas in terms of socialeconomic development, resource endowment and eco-environment in China, where natural resources are abundant,unique and diverse. However, fragile eco-environment, undeveloped economy and culture, and conflict of human and environment should not be ignored. In the research, a framework of integration of resource-development and environment-protection in damp-heat karst was designed on basis of resource and environment integration, which was applied to Daxin County in Guangxi Province. Furthermore, some integration models were proposed, including integration of development of characteristic agricultural resources and protection of eco-environment, integration of development of manganese ore resources and protection of eco-environment, integration of development of tourism resources and protection of ecoenvironment and integration of development of clean energy and protection of eco-environment.

Efficient utilization of ecological and cultural-tourism resources:Taking Guangzhou Cultural Park as an example

Land space is precious resource and carrier of various economic activities.Ecosystem Product Value Realization and Cultural Tourism is new economic growth point for green and low-carbon development.It is necessary to study how to intensively and efficiently utilize ecological and cultural-tourism resources under"Three zones three lines for land use"(3Z3L),which is basic land space planning policy.However,there are few research and cases due to difficulties of interdisciplinary research.This article adopts the methods of policies research,graphic analysis,and visiting,to study efficient utilization of ecological and cultural-tourism resources.This study found that the development of land spaces of ecology,agriculture,and urban areas is 3D trend,multi-purpose resource utilization can be achieved by improving the utilization efficiency of 3D space and differentiating spatial utilization in different periods.Taking Guangzhou Cultural Park as an example,the research object has improved the efficiency of ecological and cultural-tourism resource utilization by its managements and technology,such as“house under the tree,tree inside the house”.However,there are shortcomings just as planning and protection policies with it.We proposed to optimize the spatial planning and regulations,and improve the protection of overlapping areas of 3Z3L by planning and regulations,improve the utilization efficiency of ecological and cultural-tourism space,meet the urban young people's multiple needs such as culture and ecology in 3D space,use new technologies to improve ecological services quality such as biological methods,strengthen the coordination of multiple management departments with the concept of nature based solutions,develop the“Reversed Transmission Effect”,keep the boundary of urban development strictly.

Optimization Model to Enhance Sustainable Utilization of Resources

Resources are material foundation for sustainable development. To enhance resources utilization is the key factor for realizing sustainable development. Based on the idea of sustainable development, the paper establishes the model to effectively distribute resources and proposes a method for studies on sustainable development.

Current Situation and Countermeasures for the Development of Ecological Circular Agriculture in Zhejiang Province

Based on the analysis of present situation of ecological circular agriculture development in Zhejiang Province, the problems of limited resources, backward technology and capital shortage were proposed, and the solutions were put forward to promote the construction of modem agriculture industry system and accelerate the change from the traditional agriculture model to ecological circular agriculture model, such as choosing suitable development models according to local conditions, promoting the construction of agricultural demonstration zones, improving ecological technology, and strengthening the comprehensive utilization of resources and farming system innovation.

Technology progress and prospects of steelmaking plant at Baosteel

A brief introduction to Baosteel's steelmaking plant,the increase of its crude steel output and development of its product variety in the past 25 years is given in this paper.The technical progress in hot metal pretreatment,converter,secondary refining,continuous casting,comprehensive utilization of resources and environmental protection is also introduced.The present situation and level of the technologies,such as production of clean steel,RH vacuum refining,breakout prediction system of slab continuous casting, electromagnetic stirring and slag treatment by a rotary cylinder at Baosteel are described as well.These technologies provided good conditions for developing high value-added products and comprehensive utilization of resources at Baosteel.The future development trend of steelmaking technology of Baosteel is proposed.

The development and future of steelmaking technology at Baosteel

Baosteel＇s steelmaking has developed greatly over the last 30 years in the areas of hot metal pretreatment, converter, electric arc furnace （EAF）, secondary refining, continuous casting, stainless steel and the comprehensive utilization of resources. The development of technologies, such as clean steel production, mhrstahl heraeus （RH） vacuum refining,a breakout prediction system for slab continuous casting and rotary cylinder slag treatment has created a good environment for the development of value-added products and the comprehensive utilization of resources at Baosteel. This paper describes the direction of development of Baosteel＇ s steelmaking in the future.

Strategic Thinking for Sustainable Development of Mining-Based Cities in China

Cities based on mining are distinctive from other cities in China. Their heavy dependence on minerals, a relatively undiversified industrial structure, seriously damaged ecological environment and the rather low degree of openness have all reduced their competitiveness, and severely constrained and hindered their sustainable development. In this paper the authors will study mining-based cities from the perspective of sustainable development, first by having a critical review of their features, and then by researching into strategic options to support their sustainable development.
