As critical components in modern aerospace productions, rolling element bearings(REBs)generally work under varying speed conditions, which brings great challenges to their operating health monitoring. Some novel time–frequency decomposition(TFD)algorithms are established recently to extract nonlinear features from the non-stationary signals effectively, which are promising for realizing fault diagnosis of REBs under varying speed conditions. However, numerous personal experiences must be incorporated and the anti-noise performance of these methods needs to be further enhanced.Given these issues,a synchronous chirp mode extraction(SCME)-based REB fault diagnosis method is proposed for the health monitoring of REBs under varying speed conditions in this study. It mainly consists of following two parts.(a)The shaft rotational frequency(SRF)is initially estimated from the low-frequency band of the vibration signal.Simultaneously,an adaptive refining strategy is incorporated to obtain a suitable bandwidth parameter.(b)A cycle-one-step estimation frame is constructed to extract synchronous modes from the envelope waveform of the vibration signal.Meanwhile,a synchronous mode spectrum(SMS)is generated using the information of the extracted synchronous modes, which is a novel REBs fault diagnosis technique with tacholess and resampling-free.In contrast to the current TFD algorithms, the proposed method needs fewer input parameters and owns a well anti-noise performance because there is no iterative optimization in the procedure of construction of SMS.As a result, the health conditions of REBs are evaluated by detecting the exhibited features in the SMS.Simulations and experiments are conducted to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method in terms of REB fault diagnosis.Analysis results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms the current TFD algorithm and the conventional order tracking technique for fault diagnosis of REB under varying speed conditions. 展开更多

Starting from the basic assumptions and equations of Big Bang theory, we present a simple mathematical proof that this theory implies a varying (decreasing) speed of light, contrary to what is generally accepted. We consider General Relativity, the first Friedmann equation and the Friedmann-Lema?tre- Robertson-Walker (FLRW) metric for a Comoving Observer. It is shown explicitly that the Horizon and Flatness Problems are solved, taking away an important argument for the need of Cosmic Inflation. A decrease of 2.1 cm/s per year of the present-day speed of light is predicted. This is consistent with the observed acceleration of the expansion of the Universe, as determined from high-redshift supernova data. The calculation does not use any quantum processes, and no adjustable parameters or fine tuning are introduced. It is argued that more precise laboratory measurements of the present-day speed of light (and its evolution) should be carried out. Also it is argued that the combination of the FLRW metric and Einstein’s field equations of General Relativity is inconsistent, because the FLRW metric implies a variable speed of light, and Einstein’s field equations use a constant speed of light. If we accept standard Big Bang theory (and thus the combination of General Relativity and the FLRW metric), a variable speed of light must be allowed in the Friedmann equation, and therefore also, more generally, in Einstein’s field equations of General Relativity. The explicit form of this time dependence will then be determined by the specific problem. 展开更多

Einstein’s energy mass formula is shown to consist of two basically quantum components E(O) = mc2/22 and E(D) = mc2(21/22). We give various arguments and derivations to expose the quantum entanglement physics residing inside a deceptively simple expression E = mc2. The true surprising aspect of the present work is however the realization that all the involved “physics” in deriving the new quantum dissection of Einstein’s famous formula of special relativity is actually a pure mathematical necessity anchored in the phenomena of volume concentration of convex manifold in high dimensional quasi Banach spaces. Only an endophysical experiment encompassing the entire universe such as COBE, WMAP, Planck and supernova analysis could have discovered dark energy and our present dissection of Einstein’s marvelous formula. 展开更多

We analyze the transverse nonlinear vibrations of a rotating flexible disk subjected to a rotating point force with a periodically varying rotating speed. Based on Hamilton’s principle, the nonlinear governing equations of motion (coupled equations among the radial, tangential and transverse displacements) are derived for the rotating flexible disk. When the in-plane inertia is ignored and a stress function is introduced, the three nonlinearly coupled partial differential equations are reduced to two nonlinearly coupled partial differential equations. According to Galerkin’s approach, a four-degree-of-freedom nonlinear system governing the weakly split resonant modes is derived. The resonant case considered here is 1:1:2:2 internal resonance and a critical speed resonance. The primary parametric resonance for the first-order sin and cos modes and the fundamental parametric resonance for the second-order sin and cos modes are also considered. The method of multiple scales is used to obtain a set of eight-dimensional nonlinear averaged equations. Based on the averaged equations, using numerical simulations, the influence of different parameters on the nonlinear vibrations of the spinning disk is detected. It is concluded that there exist complicated nonlinear behaviors including the periodic, period-n and multi-pulse type chaotic motions for the spinning disk with a varying rotating speed. It is also found that among all parameters, the damping and excitation have great influence on the nonlinear responses of the spinning disk with a varying rotating speed. 展开更多
