Moving object detection is one of the challenging problems in video monitoring systems, especially when the illumination changes and shadow exists. Amethod for real-time moving object detection is described. Anew background model is proposed to handle the illumination varition problem. With optical flow technology and background subtraction, a moving object is extracted quickly and accurately. An effective shadow elimination algorithm based on color features is used to refine the moving obj ects. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can update the background exactly and quickly along with the varition of illumination, and the shadow can be eliminated effectively. The proposed algorithm is a real-time one which the foundation for further object recognition and understanding of video mum'toting systems. 展开更多

Analyses of Trawling Track and Fishing Activity Based on the Data of Vessel Monitoring System(VMS): A Case Study of the Single Otter Trawl Vessels in the Zhoushan Fishing Ground 被引量:12

The original purpose of Vessel Monitoring System(VMS) is for enforcement and control of vessel sailing. With the application of VMS in fishing vessels, more and more population dynamic studies have used VMS data to improve the accuracy of fisheries stock assessment. In this paper, we simulated the trawl trajectory under different time intervals using the cubic Hermite spline(c Hs) interpolation method based on the VMS data of 8 single otter trawl vessels(totally 36000 data items) fishing in Zhoushan fishing ground from September 2012 to December 2012, and selected the appropriate time interval. We then determined vessels' activities(fishing or non-fishing) by comparing VMS speed data with the corresponding speeds from logbooks. The results showed that the error of simulated trajectory greatly increased with the increase of time intervals of VMS data when they were longer than 30 minutes. Comparing the speeds from VMS with those from the corresponding logbooks, we found that the vessels' speeds were between 2.5 kn and 5.0 kn in fishing. The c Hs interpolation method is a new choice for improving the accuracy of estimation of sailing trajectory, and the VMS can be used to determine the vessels' activities with the analysis of their trajectories and speeds. Therefore, when the fishery information is limited, VMS can be one of the important data sources for fisheries stock assessment, and more attention should be paid to its construction and application to fisheries stock assessment and management. 展开更多

An audio and video network monitoring system for weather modification operation transmitting information by 3G, ADSL and Internet has been developed and applied in weather modification operation of Tai'an City. The all-in-one machine of 3G audio and video network highly integrates all front-end devices used for audio and video collection, communication, power supply and information storage, and has advantages of wireless video transmission, clear two-way voice intercom with the command center, waterproof and dustproof function, simple operation, good portability, and long working hours. Compression code of the system is transmitted by dynamic bandwidth, and compression rate varies from 32 kbps to 4 Mbps under different network conditions. This system has forwarding mode, that is, monitoring information from each front-end monitoring point is trans- mitted to the server of the command center by 3G/ADSL, and the server codes'and decodes again, then beck-end users call images from the serv- er, which can address 3G network stoppage caused by many users calling front-end video at the same time. In addition, the system has been ap- plied in surface weather modification operation of Tai'an City, and has made a great contribution to transmitting operation orders in real time, monitoring, standardizing and recording operating process, and improving operating safety. 展开更多

The system realizes the entire functions of the analog video signal acquisition, H.264 video coding and Internet transmission. It provides the general connection for the future development and has good flexibility and extendibility. One of the most important applications is the video monitoring system developed by new technology. Deploy an appropriate design of video monitoring system in the several fields such as public security, traffic schedule, systems control and so on, is a major technological medium which can guarantee not wasting an amount of manpower resource as well as keeping the system in a good running status. This article based on the preponderance of the Linux system, especially the character of open source of it. Combine the Linux system and some particular routers;designing a real-time and efficient video monitoring system. It’s functional and in the meantime it can discriminate abnormal information or the situation automatically and then raise the alarm. This system use matured B/S mode in software’s framework, which is also lightweight class. In addition, this system manages the expenses in hardware cost more commendably. 展开更多

In this paper we studied several cases in the May 12, 2008, Wenchuan M_S8.0 earthquake with a view to exploring the feasibility of retrieving intensity, or even strong ground motion parameters, from public monitoring video which was originally deployed for security purposes. We used public monitoring video records from 44 sites across the meizoseismal region and its surroundings to estimate the intensity. By using the video from a bank in Dujiangyan, Sichuan Province and making the simple assumption that ground vibration is in the form of a propagating harmonic wave, we estimated that the local ground motion acceleration was 0.14g. 展开更多

One camera acts for producing an in-focus image of the object and the other one ensures an extended vision field under monitoring. Such a system scheme can achieve an excellent tracking performance,especially under various unfavorable conditions. A projection algorithm is used for the calculation of the displacement of the moving object. As a result, the computational cost is reduced greatly.In order that the tracking action of the system persists even if the object is sheltered or ns acceleration is larger than a specified threshold, a dedicated tracking algorithm on the basis of the α-β filtering is designed. Experiments show that the algorithm is efficient and the system works very well. 展开更多

A high-frequency,high-resolution shore-based video monitoring system(VMS)was installed on a macrotidal(tidal amplitude>4 m)beach with multiple cusps along the Quanzhou coast,China.Herein,we propose a video imagery-based method that is coupled with waterline and water level observations to reconstruct the terrain of the intertidal zone over one tidal cycle.Furthermore,the beach cusp system(BCS)was precisely processed and embedded into the digital elevation model(DEM)to more effectively express the microrelief and detailed characteristics of the intertidal zone.During a field experiment conducted in January 2022,the reconstructed DEM was deemed satisfactory.The DEM was verified by RTK-GPS and had an average vertical root mean square error along corresponding RTK-GPS-derived intertidal profiles and corresponding BCS points of 0.134 m and 0.065 m,respectively.The results suggest that VMSs are an effective tool for investigating coastal geomorphic processes. 展开更多

[目的]为科学设置闸机,改善其实际通行能力,以及减少行人异常停滞行为带来的拥挤风险,需对城市轨道交通车站闸机设施处行人停滞行为谱特征进行研究。[方法]利用视频轨迹追踪技术,采集城市轨道交通车站闸机设施处监控视频中的行人运动参数;确定行人停滞行为表征指标,从闸机类型、行人流及个体停滞行为三类要素构建了城市轨道交通车站闸机设施处行人停滞行为谱,并采用四分位差法确定行人停滞行为谱表征指标上下限阈值;对行人停滞行为起点至闸翼/闸杆中心的纵向距离和横向距离,以及行人停滞范围和停滞时间等4个表征指标的差异性进行了分析,并全面解析了不同闸机类型和不同行人流率下的行人停滞行为谱特征。[结果及结论]行人易在闸机设施正前方停滞,行人停滞行为起点至闸翼/闸杆中心的纵向距离远大于其横向距离;当行人流率为>5~10人次/min时,行人停滞范围波动性最大;随着行人流量的增加,行人可用空间、停滞范围及停滞时间均减小。 展开更多
