METHODS:Peer reviewed publications regarding the use of capsule endoscopy as well as our personal experience were reviewed. RESULTS:Review of the literature dearly showed that capsule endoscopy was superior to enteroscopy, small bowel follow through and computerized tomography in patients with obscure gastrointestinal bleeding, iron deficiency anemia, or suspected Crohn's disease. It was very sensitive for the diagnosis of small bowel tumors and for survailance of small bowel pathology in patients with Gardner syndrome or familial adenomatous polyposis syndrome. Its role in celiac disease and in patients with known Crohn's disease was currently being investigated. CONCLUSION:Capsule video endoscopy is a superior and more sensitive diagnostic tool than barium follow through, enteroscopy and entero-CT in establishing the diagnosis of many small bowel pathologies.展开更多

Correlations between the sub-bottom structures, revealed by sub-bottom profiling, and crust distribution can be revealed for the first time by the synchronous application of sub-bottom profiling and deep-sea video recording. The lower boundary of the sediment corresponds with the upper boundary of the crust. By analysis of these two kinds of data, the lower boundary of the sediment can be determined; therefore, the upper boundary of the crust distribution can be deduced. According to this method of analysis, the upper boundary of water depth of crust distribution of a seamount in the western Pacific is about 1 560 m.展开更多

The hardware implementation, algorithm and simulation of the mixing module are given. In order to improve the capability of data processing, an anti-fuse FPGA chip and a mechanism of pipelining and modularization are adopted. With 6 parallel LUTs and a fast algorithm, it can mix 4∶2∶2 component signals in luminance and chrominance space respectively in real time. According to the simulation, the module has the ability to mix the uncompressed HDTV data with PC video data in real time, which can not be fulfilled by current ASIC chips. Furthermore, it can be extended to multi-stage mixing with the thoughts implied by the design. The mixing module can be widely used in HDTV production systems.展开更多

In this paper, a novel algorithm was proposed for mirror-image special effect editing in compressed video without full frame decompression and motion estimation. The results show that with the reducing of computational complexity, the quality of edited video in compressed domain is still close to the quality of the edited video in uncompressed domain at the same bit rate.展开更多

Beyond coded speech, dance and choreography are works of art which make use of symbols to communicate man's thought, experience, and emotions. These symbols are conveyed basically through movement and they are forms of artistic expression to which all men, across climes, can respond, be it in a live performance or recorded video film. More than ever before, the music video film has taken a great place of prominence in the entertainment circles the world over, and musical choreography has become a major tool, used by singers, musicians, and music producers in these video films to enhance their creative output and make their productions more appealing both for economic and aesthetic purposes. This paper examines the motifs of dance and choreography in two Nigerian music videos, namely, Olori Oko (2006) by a Gospel group called Infinity and Roll It (2007) by a hip-hop group named P. Sqanre. The paper investigates the themes of the music, the concepts of the dances, and the styles of choreography in both works. The paper concludes that though both works belong to different genres, they are each successful in their own rights and have both contributed in elevating the standards in the practice of dance and choreography in Nigerian music video film.展开更多

Its core is to reverse teaching sequence and teaching content by letting students watch self-made videos to learn relatively junior teaching content before class, thus leaving students adequate space to exert full activities in the classroom to complete knowledge absorption and consolidation. This article focus mainly on the design principles and relevant experiences of video production. In the meanwhile, the article also puts forward instructive suggestions for teachers to make appealing and stylistic videos as well as mobilize the enthusiasm of students.Video as the stepping stone only serves as a media to convey knowledge before class, the class is the core to convert students' traditional role to be the real master by a series of effective activities, which should be carefully designed by teachers. So the second focus of the articles falls on the design principles of in-class activities.展开更多
