This paper studies the(2+1)-dimensional Hirota-Satsuma-Ito equation.Based on an associated Hirota bilinear form,lump-type solution,two types of interaction solutions,and breather wave solution of the(2+1)-dimensional Hirota-Satsuma-Ito equation are obtained,which are all related to the seed solution of the equation.It is interesting that the rogue wave is aroused by the interaction between one-lump soliton and a pair of resonance stripe solitons,and the fusion and fission phenomena are also found in the interaction between lump solitons and one-stripe soliton.Furthermore,the breather wave solution is also obtained by reducing the two-soliton solutions.The trajectory and period of the one-order breather wave are analyzed.The corresponding dynamical characteristics are demonstrated by the graphs. 展开更多

In this paper,we establish global classical solutions of semilinear wave equations with small compact supported initial data posed on the product space R^(3)×T.The semilinear nonlinearity is assumed to be of the cubic form.The main ingredient here is the establishment of the L^(2)-L^(∞)decay estimates and the energy estimates for the linear problem,which are adapted to the wave equation on the product space.The proof is based on the Fourier mode decomposition of the solution with respect to the periodic direction,the scaling technique,and the combination of the decay estimates and the energy estimates. 展开更多

An analytical solution is derived for the traveling wave and the work is extended to a discrete formulation with a piecewise linear reaction function. We propose an operator splitting numerical scheme to solve the equation and demonstrate that the wave either propagates or gets pinned based on how the spatial mesh is chosen. 展开更多

Adopting the classical theory of hydrocodes,the constitutive relations of concretes are separated into an equation of state(EoS)which describes the volumetric behavior of concrete material and a strength model which depicts the shear properties of concrete.The experiments on the EoS of concrete is always challenging due to the technical difficulties and equipment limitations,especially for the specimen size effect on the EoS.Although some researchers investigate the shock properties of concretes by fly-plate impact tests,the specimens used in their tests are usually in one size.In this paper,the fly-plate impact tests on concrete specimens with different sizes are performed to investigate the size effect on the shock properties of concrete materials.The mechanical background of the size effect on the shock properties are revealed,which is related to the lateral rarefaction effect and the deviatoric stress produced in the specimen.According to the tests results,the modified EoS considering the size effect on the shock properties of concrete are proposed,which the bulk modulus of concrete is unpredicted by up to 20% if size effects are not accounted for. 展开更多

We consider the singular Riemann problem for the rectilinear isentropic compressible Euler equations with discontinuous flux,more specifically,for pressureless flow on the left and polytropic flow on the right separated by a discontinuity x=x(t).We prove that this problem admits global Radon measure solutions for all kinds of initial data.The over-compressing condition on the discontinuity x=x(t)is not enough to ensure the uniqueness of the solution.However,there is a unique piecewise smooth solution if one proposes a slip condition on the right-side of the curve x=x(t)+0,in addition to the full adhesion condition on its left-side.As an application,we study a free piston problem with the piston in a tube surrounded initially by uniform pressureless flow and a polytropic gas.In particular,we obtain the existence of a piecewise smooth solution for the motion of the piston between a vacuum and a polytropic gas.This indicates that the singular Riemann problem looks like a control problem in the sense that one could adjust the condition on the discontinuity of the flux to obtain the desired flow field. 展开更多

Integrable systems play a crucial role in physics and mathematics.In particular,the traditional(1+1)-dimensional and(2+1)-dimensional integrable systems have received significant attention due to the rarity of integrable systems in higher dimensions.Recent studies have shown that abundant higher-dimensional integrable systems can be constructed from(1+1)-dimensional integrable systems by using a deformation algorithm.Here we establish a new(2+1)-dimensional Chen-Lee-Liu(C-L-L)equation using the deformation algorithm from the(1+1)-dimensional C-L-L equation.The new system is integrable with its Lax pair obtained by applying the deformation algorithm to that of the(1+1)-dimension.It is challenging to obtain the exact solutions for the new integrable system because the new system combines both the original C-L-L equation and its reciprocal transformation.The traveling wave solutions are derived in implicit function expression,and some asymmetry peakon solutions are found. 展开更多

We study the acoustomagnetoelectric (AME) effect in two-dimensional graphene with an energy bandgap using the semiclassical Boltzmann transport equation within the hypersound regime, (where represents the acoustic wavenumber and is the mean free path of the electron). The Boltzmann transport equation and other relevant equations were solved analytically to obtain an expression for the AME current density, consisting of longitudinal and Hall components. Our numerical results indicate that both components of the AME current densities display oscillatory behaviour. Furthermore, geometric resonances and Weiss oscillations were each defined using the relationship between the current density and Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) frequency and the inverse of the applied magnetic field, respectively. Our results show that the AME current density of bandgap graphene, which can be controlled to suit a particular electronic device application, is smaller than that of (gapless) graphene and is therefore, more suited for nanophotonic device applications. 展开更多

Research on seismic anisotropy and attenuation plays a significant role in exploration geophysics. To enhance the imaging quality for complicated structures, we develop several effective improvements for anisotropic attenuation effects in reverse-time migration (Q-RTM) on surface and vertical seismic profiling (VSP) acquisition geometries. First, to suppress pseudo-shear wave artifact and numerical instability of the commonly used anisotropic pseudo-acoustic wave equations, an optimized pure P-wave dispersion relation is derived and the corresponding pure-mode wave equation is solved by combining the finite-difference and Possion methods. Second, a simplified anisotropic pure-mode visco-acoustic wave equation (PVAWE) based on standard linear solid model is established. Third, a time-dispersion correlation strategy is applied to improve the modeling accuracy. Fourth, we extend a target-oriented scheme to anisotropic attenuated modeling and imaging. Instead of the conventional wavefield modeling and RTM, the proposed approach can extract available wavefield information near the target regions and produce high imaging resolution for target structures. Last, both anisotropic surface and VSP Q-RTMs are executed by combining optimized PVAWE, time-dispersion correlation and target-oriented algorithm. Modeling examples demonstrate the advantages of our schemes. Moreover, our modified Q-compensated imaging workflow can be regarded as a supplement to the classical anisotropic RTM. 展开更多

We study a coupled Schrödinger equation which is started from the Boussinesq equation of atmospheric gravity waves by using multiscale analysis and reduced perturbation method.For the coupled Schrödinger equation,we obtain the Manakov model of all-focusing,all-defocusing and mixed types by setting parameters value and apply the Hirota bilinear approach to provide the two-soliton and three-soliton solutions.Especially,we find that the all-defocusing type Manakov model admits bright-bright soliton solutions.Furthermore,we find that the all-defocusing type Manakov model admits bright-bright-bright soliton solutions.Therefrom,we go over how the free parameters affect the Manakov model’s allfocusing type’s two-soliton and three-soliton solutions’collision locations,propagation directions,and wave amplitudes.These findings are useful for setting a simulation scene in Rossby waves research.The answers we have found are helpful for studying physical properties of the equation in Rossby waves. 展开更多

The extraction of traveling wave solutions for nonlinear evolution equations is a challenge in various mathematics,physics,and engineering disciplines.This article intends to analyze several traveling wave solutions for themodified regularized long-wave(MRLW)equation using several approaches,namely,the generalized algebraic method,the Jacobian elliptic functions technique,and the improved Q-expansion strategy.We successfully obtain analytical solutions consisting of rational,trigonometric,and hyperbolic structures.The adaptive moving mesh technique is applied to approximate the numerical solution of the proposed equation.The adaptive moving mesh method evenly distributes the points on the high error areas.This method perfectly and strongly reduces the error.We compare the constructed exact and numerical results to ensure the reliability and validity of the methods used.To better understand the considered equation’s physical meaning,we present some 2D and 3D figures.The exact and numerical approaches are efficient,powerful,and versatile for establishing novel bright,dark,bell-kink-type,and periodic traveling wave solutions for nonlinear PDEs. 展开更多

This paper uses the theory of planar dynamic systems and the knowledge of reaction-diffusion equations,and then studies the bounded traveling wave solution of the generalized Boussinesq equation affected by dissipation and the influence of dissipation on solitary waves.The dynamic system corresponding to the traveling wave solution of the equation is qualitatively analyzed in detail.The influence of the dissipation coefficient on the solution behavior of the bounded traveling wave is studied,and the critical values that can describe the magnitude of the dissipation effect are,respectively,found for the two cases of b_3<0 and b_3>0 in the equation.The results show that,when the dissipation effect is significant(i.e.,r is greater than the critical value in a certain situation),the traveling wave solution to the generalized Boussinesq equation appears as a kink-shaped solitary wave solution;when the dissipation effect is small(i.e.,r is smaller than the critical value in a certain situation),the traveling wave solution to the equation appears as the oscillation attenuation solution.By using the hypothesis undetermined method,all possible solitary wave solutions to the equation when there is no dissipation effect(i.e.,r=0)and the partial kink-shaped solitary wave solution when the dissipation effect is significant are obtained;in particular,when the dissipation effect is small,an approximate solution of the oscillation attenuation solution can be achieved.This paper is further based on the idea of the homogenization principles.By establishing an integral equation reflecting the relationship between the approximate solution of the oscillation attenuation solution and the exact solution obtained in the paper,and by investigating the asymptotic behavior of the solution at infinity,the error estimate between the approximate solution of the oscillation attenuation solution and the exact solution is obtained,which is an infinitesimal amount that decays exponentially.The influence of the dissipation coefficient on the amplitude,frequency,period,and energy of the bounded traveling wave solution of the equation is also discussed. 展开更多

This article investigates the Hirota-Satsuma-Ito equation with variable coefficient using the Hirota bilinear method and the long wave limit method.The equation is proved to be Painlevé integrable by Painlevé analysis.On the basis of the bilinear form,the forms of two-soliton solutions,three-soliton solutions,and four-soliton solutions are studied specifically.The appropriate parameter values are chosen and the corresponding figures are presented.The breather waves solutions,lump solutions,periodic solutions and the interaction of breather waves solutions and soliton solutions,etc.are given.In addition,we also analyze the different effects of the parameters on the figures.The figures of the same set of parameters in different planes are presented to describe the dynamical behavior of solutions.These are important for describing water waves in nature. 展开更多
