Research on the visual elements of augmented reality asse mbly processes

Background To solve the problem of visualization in augmented reality(AR),for assembly process information,we report here on our study into the composition of AR assembly process information.Methods Our work led us to classify the visual elements of assembly processes into six categories,and after looking further into visual element expression characteristics used in assembly process information in the AR environment,standard assembly process elements have been identified and visual element layout principles studied.Conclusion Typical visualization elements have been presented,using an AR-based assembly instruction system.

A Study on Visual Diversity of Japanese Residential Streetscapes

This study was conducted to find out the available visual diversity in Japanese residential streetscapes. The visual diversity occurs when the visual elements on streetscapes are different to each other. In this study, a field survey as a subjective method and the entropy as an objective method were used as measures of visual diversity. Data were collected from 80 residential streetscapes from four sites in the Saitama Prefecture, Japan. The sequential perspective views of streetscapes were analyzed for eight visual elements： shape of houses, shape of roofs, shape of windows, positions of the main openings of houses, availability of the ornaments on houses, height, color and the appearance of the boundary walls of premises to calculate the entropy. A field survey with multicultural subjects was used to find out the correlation between entropy and the human perception on the visual diversity. According to the results, the residential streetscapes displayed high diversity variations largely due to the shape of the roofs, shape of the windows and the appearance of the boundary walls of the premises. Moreover, the results concluded that the residential streetscapes at the study area are neither visually diverse nor visually uniform in considering the visual diversity aspect.

Study on the Digital Art Design and Practice of the Visual Elemems of Minority in Ningxia

Digital art design refers to the art and design activities that are implemented based on computers and related digital equipments. Today, the digital art has been extensively applied in all sorts of social areas and relevant industries such as animation, design, film and television production, games, advertising, multimedia design, and network. The artistic creations such as Helan Mountain Rock Painting, Xixia cultural patterns and ethnic patterns, in which Ningxia visual elements were taken as design themes, are diversified in forms and rich in contents, and also have been extensively applied. However, because of the application of the digital technology with powerful functions, the digital art has the ability to provide a wide creation space for national culture. Meanwhile, some special effects of the digital technology can also be applied in the creation of minority art.

Study on visualization simulation of temperature distributions in surrounding rock of tunnels in a deep mine

Based on the mathematical model for rock temperature distribution in a geo-thermal field,the properties of rock temperature distribution in geothermal field for fourkinds of surrounding rock cross-sections of tunnels in a deep mine were simulated by us-ing finite element method.It is shown that the relationship for rock temperature distributionvaried with the geothermal parameters,time and space.Namely, 2-dimensionaltime-dependent isograms clearly showed the process for rock temperature variation anddistribution in a geothermal field which has been redisplayed with visualization numericalsimulation.

Language Teaching and the Visual Element

Visual methods in language teaching have come in very quickly; their introduction has been hastened by the development of the electronic and mechanical means for displaying visual materials. And the learning of language and the teaching of meaning have been a long-lasting and significant topic in applied linguistics. In this paper several aspects of language teaching including main features of language learning, different ways for teaching of meaning etc. have been discussed. Then, the visual element in language teaching and different kinds of visual materials such as sound film, audio-visual courses, television will be introduced with an application of visual materials in real language class. Then, after the above discussion, the final conclusion will be arrived that the ultimate goal of language teaching is meaning and visual element can be of great importance in the creation of a real situation in language teaching.

Spiritual Language of Public Art in Architectural Form

To interpret spiritual language of architectural public art, architectural form was analyzed. Visual art space is based on spatial vision, artistic forms of point, line, surface and body are major visual elements of spatial form. Visual elements can be demonstrated in various forms, and even more diversified in the context of spatial design, interact with each other according to the form principle of beauty, and construct artistic forms of the space. Manifestation of the nature of public art also relies on visual elements, and the public aesthetic experience and feelings about architectural public art are expressed by visual elements.
