A two⁃port encapsulated low⁃contrast grating with suppressed zeroth order under normal incidence is described in this paper.Based on such grating configuration,the improved efficiency and spectral bandwidth of the first order for TE and TM polarizations with a designed period of 1860 nm can be obtained.On the one hand,some of the accurate grating parameters were numerically optimized utilizing a rigorous coupled⁃wave analysis;on the other hand,the inherent physical mechanism suppressing the zeroth order through an encapsulated fused⁃silica grating was adequately interpreted on account of a simplified modal method.Encapsulated grating with a cover layer cannot be simply considered as adding a coating on it.Compared with reported surface⁃relief grating,all parameters of encapsulated grating should be re⁃optimized and the optimized performances of encapsulated grating were greatly improved.Therefore,the encapsulated grating can be potentially applied in writing fiber Bragg gratings. 展开更多

Studies have shown that, by adjusting the parameters, the first-order diffraction efficiency of the probe beam in the cold atomic system and the thermal atomic system is 34% and 31%, respectively, which is very close to the ideal diffraction efficiency of the sinusoidal grating. However, it is more difficult to prepare the cold atomic system than to prepare the thermal atomic system in the practical application, so the study of the electromagnetically induced grating effect in the thermal atomic system may be helpful for practical applications. 展开更多

An electromagnetically induced grating in a four-level tripod-type atomic system is studied theoretically. By virtue of a weak standing-wave signal field, the phase modulation effectively diffracts a weak probe field into the first-order direction. By changing the weak signal field, the diffraction of the weak probe field can be modulated in real time, and a first-order diffraction efficiency of more than 32% can be obtained with proper parameters. Such a system has a potential application in an all-optical switch controlled by a weak optical signal. 展开更多

Optical spectrometer of the Guillermo Haro astrophysical observatory (Mexico) realizes investigations in the visible and near-infrared range 350 - 800 nm and exploits mechanically removable traditional static diffraction gratings as dispersive elements. There is a set of the static gratings with slit-densities 150 - 600 lines/mm and optical apertures 9 cm × 9 cm that provide the first order spectral resolution from 0.8 to 3.2 A/pixel, respectively. However, the needed mechanical manipulations, namely, replacing the static diffraction gratings with various resolutions and following recalibration of spectrometer within studying even the same object are practically inconvenient and lead to wasting rather expensive observation time. We suggest exploiting an acousto-optical cell, i.e. the dynamic diffraction grating tunable electronically, as dispersive element in that spectrometer. Involving the acousto-optical technique, which can potentially provide electronic control over the spectral resolution and the range of observations, leads to eliminating the abovementioned demerits and improving the efficiency of analysis. 展开更多

Holographic recording analysis was performed on the films that were sensitized with ammonium dichromate with albumin of hen and quail (Gallus gallus and Callipepla cali) as abiopolymeric photosensitive matrix. The samples were exposed to an He-Cd laser, λ = 442 nm, at various concentrations, and diffraction efficiencies were measured as a function to the energy, thickness, protein density, aging time, and spatial frequencies. The photosensitivity was measured as a function of storage time, and the gratings were recorded in real time. The photochemical processes involved in the formation of holographic image are described. The results indicate the behavior of colloidal systems based on albumin bird build holographic recording materials. 展开更多

随着微型发光二极管(micro-light emitting diode,Micro-LED)微型图像源被应用于增强现实(augmented reality,AR)显示技术,AR显示系统朝着超小型化方向发展。然而Micro-LED图像源发光角度大,准直投影镜头要求体积小且像质高,其产生的渐... 随着微型发光二极管(micro-light emitting diode,Micro-LED)微型图像源被应用于增强现实(augmented reality,AR)显示技术,AR显示系统朝着超小型化方向发展。然而Micro-LED图像源发光角度大,准直投影镜头要求体积小且像质高,其产生的渐晕现象也导致视场(field of view,FOV)边缘处光学效率低、照度不均匀,这对AR光学系统设计造成了挑战。为了解决上述问题,该文基于增加计算得到的非球面场镜,设计了一种照度均匀性高、边缘视场光学效率较高的衍射光栅波导准直投影镜头。对场镜理论进行详细分析,从而确定焦距区间,最终求解其面型参数,设计出照度相对均匀的镜头。设计的新型准直投影镜头对角线FOV为41.2°,F#为1.87,调制传递函数在125 lp/mm处大于0.5。仿真结果表明,系统照度均匀性相对提高了14%,边缘FOV的光学效率相对提高了15%,具有良好的成像性能,该镜头可应用于超小型AR衍射光栅波导头戴显示系统中。 展开更多

本文设计并实现了一种三层结构液晶偏振体光栅,对其衍射特性及其在光波导中的耦合情况进行了研究。理论上,选取横向周期为424 nm,根据特定工作波长450 nm、532 nm、633 nm在满足布拉格衍射条件的情况下计算出了相对应的3个纵向周期以实... 本文设计并实现了一种三层结构液晶偏振体光栅,对其衍射特性及其在光波导中的耦合情况进行了研究。理论上,选取横向周期为424 nm,根据特定工作波长450 nm、532 nm、633 nm在满足布拉格衍射条件的情况下计算出了相对应的3个纵向周期以实现其厚度方向的叠加。采用有限元法对该器件进行了模拟仿真,计算出了其光谱特性及角度特性,根据红绿蓝三色光色散关系仿真出了其在波导内耦合的入射角与衍射角之间的关系曲线。实验上,本文实现了该液晶偏振体光栅器件的制备并对其进行了系统性能表征,给出了一个初步的光波导耦合实验,演示了其耦合效果。结果表明,所制备的三层液晶偏振体光栅器件在450 nm、532 nm、633 nm下衍射效率最高可达80%以上,对应波长下的角带宽分别为12°、8°、6°,其在波导内耦合的视场经模拟可达到27.81°,是一种良好的光波导耦合器件。 展开更多

增强现实(augmented reality,AR)系统是一种将虚拟影像叠加到现实环境的显示系统,光波导是AR显示系统的核心元件,可以实现系统的微型化与轻量化。光波导耦合元件衍射效率的高低极大地影响AR显示系统的成像质量,为提高AR显示系统中耦合... 增强现实(augmented reality,AR)系统是一种将虚拟影像叠加到现实环境的显示系统,光波导是AR显示系统的核心元件,可以实现系统的微型化与轻量化。光波导耦合元件衍射效率的高低极大地影响AR显示系统的成像质量,为提高AR显示系统中耦合元件的衍射效率,该文提出了一种多层光栅叠加的波导结构,基于矢量衍射理论,采用严格耦合波分析法对光栅进行仿真分析。仿真结果显示:单层倾斜光栅的平均衍射效率在50°视场角范围内达到60%,3层光栅叠加的波导结构平均衍射效率达到85%以上,较单层光栅衍射效率提高了25%。分析结果表明,多层光栅叠加的波导结构可以实现更大的视场角与衍射效率,使AR显示系统具有更清晰的视场。 展开更多

全息聚合物分散液晶(holographic-polymer dispersed liquid crystal, H-PDLC)体全息光栅因其化学状态稳定、制作简单、价格低廉等优势为全息光波导耦合器件提供了一个更优的思路。本文提出了采用复合型丙烯酸酯类高/低折射率匹配调制的... 全息聚合物分散液晶(holographic-polymer dispersed liquid crystal, H-PDLC)体全息光栅因其化学状态稳定、制作简单、价格低廉等优势为全息光波导耦合器件提供了一个更优的思路。本文提出了采用复合型丙烯酸酯类高/低折射率匹配调制的H-PDLC透射式体光栅的研制。首先结合耦合波理论及分子扩散理论介绍了H-PDLC光栅的形成机理。然后,通过实验对不同官能度单体的光栅材料进行筛选,并研究其全息衍射特性。在此基础上,进一步采用提高引发剂含量的方式优化了高频体全息H-PDLC光栅性能。实验结果表明,该双单体的H-PDLC配方可实现在可见光波段透过率大于90%,在空间频率为973 lp/mm下,衍射效率达到90%,响应带宽为99 nm;在2 941 lp/mm下,衍射效率为75.4%,响应带宽为29 nm。该H-PDLC光栅作为波导显示系统的耦合器件有可观的应用前景。 展开更多

为了研究液晶中相位光栅的动态衍射特性和光栅形貌,提出了在C_(60)掺杂垂直排列向列相液晶(NLC)中产生非对称光栅的方法,分析了光栅产生机制并建立了光栅形貌的数学模型。首先,用水平偏振光的斜入射光束写入相位光栅。然后,利用一束光... 为了研究液晶中相位光栅的动态衍射特性和光栅形貌,提出了在C_(60)掺杂垂直排列向列相液晶(NLC)中产生非对称光栅的方法,分析了光栅产生机制并建立了光栅形貌的数学模型。首先,用水平偏振光的斜入射光束写入相位光栅。然后,利用一束光作为探测光读出光栅并利用光电探测器记录衍射光强。实验表明,光栅的最大衍射效率超过60%,且衍射强度分布不对称。基于非对称衍射的特征,提出了基于光折变效应产生非对称衍射分布和衍射效率超过对称光栅Raman-Nath衍射理论极限的物理机制。最后,给出了在NLC中形成非对称锯齿形光栅的假设,并提出了描述非对称锯齿形相位光栅的数学模型。研究结果表明,相位光栅的高衍射效率来源于液晶中非正弦调制的空间电荷场。这种非对称电场主要是表面电荷调制和Carr-Helfrich效应共同作用的结果。提出的非对称锯齿形光栅模型假设能够很好地描述非对称衍射和衍射效率突破Raman-Nath理论关于对称光栅衍射理论限制的原因。 展开更多

The theoretical results are coincident with the experimental data quite well. Diffraction efficiency of volume Bragg grating, whose period is in the same order as the incident wavelength, is related to the polarization direction of the incident linear polarized beam. When two linearly polarized recording beams with the same polarization direction are used for recording volume Bragg gratings in a photopolymer with diffusion amplification, the azimuth of polarization of the reconstruction beam influences the diffraction efficiency of the grating. When the probe beam is linearly polarized and oriented orthogonally to the grating vectors, the ±1-order diffraction beams are also linearly polarized with polarization direction parallel to that of the probe beam. According to the results, a two-dimensional nonspatial optical filter consisting of the volume Bragg gratings would achieve significantly higher efficiency. 展开更多
