Broadband vibration attenuation is a challenging task in engineering since it is difficult to achieve low-frequency and broadband vibration control simultaneously.To solve this problem,this paper designs a piezoelectr...Broadband vibration attenuation is a challenging task in engineering since it is difficult to achieve low-frequency and broadband vibration control simultaneously.To solve this problem,this paper designs a piezoelectric meta-beam with unidirectional electric circuits,exhibiting promising broadband attenuation capabilities.An analytical model in a closed form for achieving the solution of unidirectional vibration transmission of the designed meta-beam is developed based on the state-space transfer function method.The method can analyze the forward and backward vibration transmission of the piezoelectric meta-beam in a unified manner,providing reliable dynamics solutions of the beam.The analytical results indicate that the meta-beam effectively reduces the unidirectional vibration across a broad low-frequency range,which is also verified by the solutions obtained from finite element analyses.The designed meta-beam and the proposed analytical method facilitate a comprehensive investigation into the distinctive unidirectional transmission behavior and superb broadband vibration attenuation performance.展开更多
A typical blasting vibration wave is a composite wave,and its attenuation law is affected by the type of dominant wave component.The purpose of the present study is to establish an attenuation equation of the peak par...A typical blasting vibration wave is a composite wave,and its attenuation law is affected by the type of dominant wave component.The purpose of the present study is to establish an attenuation equation of the peak particle velocity(PPV),taking into account the attenuation characteristics of P-,S-and R-waves in the blasting vibration wave.Field blasting tests were carried out as a case to specifically apply the proposed equation.In view of the fact that the discrete properties of rock mass will inevitably cause the uncertainty of blasting vibration,we also carried out a probability analysis of PPV uncertainty,and introduced the concept of reliability to evaluate blasting vibration.The results showed that the established attenuation equation had a higher prediction accuracy,and can be considered as a promising equation implemented on more complex sites.The adopted uncertainty analysis method can comprehensively take account of the attenuation law of blasting vibration measured on site and discrete properties of rock masses.The obtained distribution of the PPV uncertainty factor can quantitatively evaluate the reliability of blasting vibration,which is a powerful and necessary supplement to the PPV attenuation equation.展开更多

An anti-collision early warning technology method based on vibration wave propagation attenuation monitoring is proposed to prevent collision accidents between road headers and natural gas wells. Through the steel pipe and steel pipe concrete knocking vibration test and underground digging vibration test, the research results show that: The exponential decay coefficients of the vibration wave in steel pipe, steel pipe concrete and coal rock respectively are 0.1, 0.1140 and 0.03, which are all in accordance with the exponential decay law, and the vibration wave firstly decays sharply and then decays slowly;the formula for the distance from the road header to the natural gas well was derived based on the vibration attenuation formula, to provide a new method for realizing the problem of precise and coordinated extraction by surface monitoring of the distance from down hole road headers to gas wells, collision prevention prediction and warning and prevention of collision of extraction equipment with gas wells.展开更多
In order to suppress the low-frequency ultrasound vibration in the broadband range of 20 k Hz—100 k Hz,this paper proposes and discusses an acoustic metamaterial with low-frequency ultrasound vibration attenuation pr...In order to suppress the low-frequency ultrasound vibration in the broadband range of 20 k Hz—100 k Hz,this paper proposes and discusses an acoustic metamaterial with low-frequency ultrasound vibration attenuation properties,which is configured by hybrid arc and sharp-angle convergent star-shaped lattices.The effect of the dispersion relation and the bandgap characteristic for the scatterers in star-shaped are simulated and analyzed.The target bandgap width is extended by optimizing the geometry parameters of arc and sharp-angle convergent lattices.The proposed metamaterial configured by optimized hybrid lattices exhibits remarkable broad bandgap characteristics by bandgap complementarity,and the simulation results verify a 99%vibration attenuation amplitude can be obtained in the frequency of20 k Hz—100 k Hz.After the fabrication of the proposed hybrid configurational star-shaped metamaterial by 3D printing technique,the transmission loss experiments are performed,and the experimental results indicate that the fabricated metamaterial has the characteristics of broadband vibration attenuation and an amplitude greater than 85%attenuation for the target frequency.These results demonstrate that the hybrid configurational star-shaped metamaterials can effectively widen the bandgap and realize high efficiency attenuation,which has capability for the vibration attenuation in the application of highprecise equipment.展开更多
One hallmark of glasses is the existence of excess vibrational modes at low frequenciesωbeyond Debye’s prediction.Numerous studies suggest that understanding low-frequency excess vibrations could help gain insight i...One hallmark of glasses is the existence of excess vibrational modes at low frequenciesωbeyond Debye’s prediction.Numerous studies suggest that understanding low-frequency excess vibrations could help gain insight into the anomalous mechanical and thermodynamic properties of glasses.However,there is still intensive debate as to the frequency dependence of the population of low-frequency excess vibrations.In particular,excess modes could hybridize with phonon-like modes and the density of hybridized excess modes has been reported to follow D_(exc)(ω)~ω^(2)in 2D glasses with an inverse power law potential.Yet,the universality of the quadratic scaling remains unknown,since recent work suggested that interaction potentials could influence the scaling of the vibrational spectrum.Here,we extend the universality of the quadratic scaling for hybridized excess modes in 2D to glasses with potentials ranging from the purely repulsive soft-core interaction to the hard-core one with both repulsion and attraction as well as to glasses with significant differences in density or interparticle repulsion.Moreover,we observe that the number of hybridized excess modes exhibits a decrease in glasses with higher density or steeper interparticle repulsion,which is accompanied by a suppression of the strength of the sound attenuation.Our results indicate that the density bears some resemblance to the repulsive steepness of the interaction in influencing low-frequency properties.展开更多

In this paper, nineteen measurements of ground vibrations induced by eight different technical sources including road and rail traffic, vibratory and impulsive construction work or pile driving, explosions, hammer impulses and mass drops are described, and it is shown that the technically induced ground vibrations exhibit a power-law attenuation v - r ~ where the exponents q are in the range of 0.5 to 2.0 and depend on the source types. Comparisons performed demonstrate that the measured exponents are considerably higher than theoretically expected. Some potential effects on ground vibration attenuation are theoretically analyzed. The most important effect is due to the material or scattering damping. Each frequency component is attenuated exponentially as exp(-kr), but for a broad-band excitation, the sum of the exponential laws also yields a power law but with a high exponent. Additional effects are discussed, for example the dispersion of the Rayleigh wave due to soil layering, which yields an additional exponent of 0.5 in cases of impulsive loading.展开更多
Dominant frequency attenuation is a significant concern for frequency-based criteria of blasting vibration control.It is necessary to develop a concise and practical prediction equation describing dominant frequency a...Dominant frequency attenuation is a significant concern for frequency-based criteria of blasting vibration control.It is necessary to develop a concise and practical prediction equation describing dominant frequency attenuation.In this paper,a prediction equation of dominant frequency that accounts for primary parameters influencing the dominant frequency was proposed based on theoretical and dimensional analyses.Three blasting experiments were carried out in the Chiwan parking lot for collecting blasting vibration data used to conduct regression analysis of the proposed prediction equation.The fitting equations were further adopted to compare the reliability of three different types of dominant frequencies in the proposed equation and to explore the effects of different charge structures on the dominant frequency attenuation.The apparent frequency proved to be more reliable to express the attenuation law of the dominant frequency.The reliability and superiority of the proposed equation employing the apparent frequency were verified by comparison with the other five prediction equations.The smaller blasthole diameter or decoupling ratio leads to the higher initial value and corresponding faster attenuation of the dominant frequency.The blasthole diameter has a greater influence on the dominant frequency attenuation than the decoupling ratio does.Among the charge structures applied in the experiments,the charge structure with decoupling ratio of 1.5 and blasthole diameter of 48 mm results in the greatest initial value and corresponding fastest attenuation of the dominant frequency.展开更多

First, by introducing a linear varying parameter, the nonlinear system is described as a linear parameter varying (LPV) model. Second, based on this LPV model, an LMI-based condition for the system to be asymptotically stabilized is deduced. By solving these LMIs, a parameter-dependent controller is established for the closed- loop system to be stable with a prescribed level of disturbance attenuation. The condition is also extended to the uncertain case. Finally, some numerical simulations demonstrate the satisfying performance of the proposed controller.展开更多
Using a finite element method (FEM) program, a Portland cement concrete slab trackbed (So), and a sub- track asphalt roadbed (RAC-S) were modeled under high- speed train loads to analyze their responses to groun...Using a finite element method (FEM) program, a Portland cement concrete slab trackbed (So), and a sub- track asphalt roadbed (RAC-S) were modeled under high- speed train loads to analyze their responses to ground vibration attenuation, by considering 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 thick sub-track asphalt layer replaced on the top of the upper subgrade. FEM results show that the vibration amplitude of RAC-S is at least three times lower than the vibration for So. The maximum vibration amplitude of RAC-S is linearly increased with train speed. The vertical acceleration is found to be reduced by more than 10 % when the asphalt layer thickness is increased from 10 to 20 cm. However, the reduction in vertical acceleration is only about 1% when the thickness of the asphalt layer changes from 20 to 30 cm. The vibration level is slightly lower if the asphalt layer has higher resilient modulus in the seasons of autumn or winter. This theoretical analysis indicates that a railway substructure that consists of a 10-20 cm thick high modulus asphalt layer located at the top of trackbed shows a good performance in ground vibration control for high-speed rails.展开更多

By utilizing Kennard's shell equations and combining with Helmholtz equations of flow field, the coupling equations of submarine fluid-filled pipeline for n=0 axisymmetrical wave motion are set up. Analytical expressions of wave speed are obtained for both s=1 and s=2 waves, which correspond to a fluid-dominated wave and an axial shell wave, respectively. The numerical results for wave speed and wave attenuation are obtained and discussed subsequently. It shows that the frequency depends on phase velocity, and the attenuation of this mode depends strongly on material parameters of the pipe and the internal and the external fluid fields. The characteristics of PVC pipe are studied for a comparison. The effects of shell thickness/radius ratio and density of the contained fluid on the model are also discussed. The study provides a theoretical basis and helps to accurately predict the situation of submarine pipelines, which also has practical application prospect in the field of pipeline leakage detection.展开更多

There are many nonlinear interfaces, such as splines, bearings, ...Planetary gearboxes play a crucial role in altering rotary speed and transmitting power in large machines like wind turbines and sophisticated vehicles. There are many nonlinear interfaces, such as splines, bearings, and gear pairs, in planetary gearboxes, and the resulting vibration signal transmission and attenuation mechanisms are still unknown. In this study, a novel method for quantitatively analyzing the transmission and attenuation of vibration signals is proposed. A multibody dynamic model of the planetary gearbox considering nonlinear gear meshing is presented and experimentally validated. To avoid the interference of foundation vibration on the transmission of the fault signal, the fault impact factor(FIF) is used to describe the intensity of the failure, which aligns well with the experimental signals. Based on the FIF, the vibration signal attenuation of nonlinear interfaces such as splines, bearings, and gear meshing interfaces is quantitatively evaluated. To clarify the transfer paths of fault vibration signals inside the gearbox, the transfer path area method(TPAM) based on FIF is proposed. According to the simulated results,the primary transfer paths of fault vibration signals within the gearbox have been identified, which is of great help in understanding the transmission and attenuation of vibration signals in planetary gearboxes.展开更多

A niche hybrid genetic algorithm (NHGA) is proposed to optimize stiffness and damping of the isolators. Through the comparison of the frequency response analysis results, it shows that the optimized WSVI system more effectively reduces spacecraft axial / lateral response due to the broadband structure-born launch environment. At the same time, the case of the whole-spacecraft vibration isolation optimization design demonstrates the efficiency and validity of the genetic algorithm.展开更多

A new class of support structures, called Periodic Structures, is introduced in this paper as a viable means for isolating the vibration transmitted from the sea waves to offshore platform structures through its legs....A new class of support structures, called Periodic Structures, is introduced in this paper as a viable means for isolating the vibration transmitted from the sea waves to offshore platform structures through its legs. A passive approach to reduce transmitted vibration generated by waves is presented. The approach utilizes the property of periodic structural components that create stop and pass bands. The stop band regions can be tailored to correspond to regions of the frequency spectra that contain harmonics of the wave frequency, attenuating the response in those regions. A periodic structural component is comprised of a repeating array of cells, which are themselves an assembly of elements. The elements may have differing material properties as well as geometric variations. For the purpose of this research, only geometric and material variations are considered and each cell is assumed to be identical. A periodic leg is designed in order to reduce transmitted vibration of sea waves. The effectiveness of the periodicity on the vibration levels of platform will be demonstrated theoretically. The theory governing the operation of this class of periodic structures is introduced using the transfer matrix method. The unique filtering characteristics of periodic structures are demonstrated as functions of their design parameters for structures with geometrical and material discontinuities, and determine the propagation factor by using the spectral finite element analysis and the effectiveness of design on the leg structure by changing the ratio of step length and area interface between the materials is demonstrated in order to find the propagation factor and frequency response.展开更多

An anti-collision early warning technology method based on vibration wave propagation attenuation monitoring is proposed to prevent collision accidents between road headers and natural gas wells. Through the steel pipe and steel pipe concrete knocking vibration test and underground digging vibration test, the research results show that: The exponential decay coefficients of the vibration wave in steel pipe, steel pipe concrete and coal rock respectively are 0.1, 0.1140 and 0.03, which are all in accordance with the exponential decay law, and the vibration wave firstly decays sharply and then decays slowly;the formula for the distance from the road header to the natural gas well was derived based on the vibration attenuation formula, to provide a new method for realizing the problem of precise and coordinated extraction by surface monitoring of the distance from down hole road headers to gas wells, collision prevention prediction and warning and prevention of collision of extraction equipment with gas wells.

文摘In order to suppress the low-frequency ultrasound vibration in the broadband range of 20 k Hz—100 k Hz,this paper proposes and discusses an acoustic metamaterial with low-frequency ultrasound vibration attenuation properties,which is configured by hybrid arc and sharp-angle convergent star-shaped lattices.The effect of the dispersion relation and the bandgap characteristic for the scatterers in star-shaped are simulated and analyzed.The target bandgap width is extended by optimizing the geometry parameters of arc and sharp-angle convergent lattices.The proposed metamaterial configured by optimized hybrid lattices exhibits remarkable broad bandgap characteristics by bandgap complementarity,and the simulation results verify a 99%vibration attenuation amplitude can be obtained in the frequency of20 k Hz—100 k Hz.After the fabrication of the proposed hybrid configurational star-shaped metamaterial by 3D printing technique,the transmission loss experiments are performed,and the experimental results indicate that the fabricated metamaterial has the characteristics of broadband vibration attenuation and an amplitude greater than 85%attenuation for the target frequency.These results demonstrate that the hybrid configurational star-shaped metamaterials can effectively widen the bandgap and realize high efficiency attenuation,which has capability for the vibration attenuation in the application of highprecise equipment.

文摘One hallmark of glasses is the existence of excess vibrational modes at low frequenciesωbeyond Debye’s prediction.Numerous studies suggest that understanding low-frequency excess vibrations could help gain insight into the anomalous mechanical and thermodynamic properties of glasses.However,there is still intensive debate as to the frequency dependence of the population of low-frequency excess vibrations.In particular,excess modes could hybridize with phonon-like modes and the density of hybridized excess modes has been reported to follow D_(exc)(ω)~ω^(2)in 2D glasses with an inverse power law potential.Yet,the universality of the quadratic scaling remains unknown,since recent work suggested that interaction potentials could influence the scaling of the vibrational spectrum.Here,we extend the universality of the quadratic scaling for hybridized excess modes in 2D to glasses with potentials ranging from the purely repulsive soft-core interaction to the hard-core one with both repulsion and attraction as well as to glasses with significant differences in density or interparticle repulsion.Moreover,we observe that the number of hybridized excess modes exhibits a decrease in glasses with higher density or steeper interparticle repulsion,which is accompanied by a suppression of the strength of the sound attenuation.Our results indicate that the density bears some resemblance to the repulsive steepness of the interaction in influencing low-frequency properties.
文摘The attenuation of technically induced surface waves is studied theoretically and experimentally. In this paper, nineteen measurements of ground vibrations induced by eight different technical sources including road and rail traffic, vibratory and impulsive construction work or pile driving, explosions, hammer impulses and mass drops are described, and it is shown that the technically induced ground vibrations exhibit a power-law attenuation v - r ~ where the exponents q are in the range of 0.5 to 2.0 and depend on the source types. Comparisons performed demonstrate that the measured exponents are considerably higher than theoretically expected. Some potential effects on ground vibration attenuation are theoretically analyzed. The most important effect is due to the material or scattering damping. Each frequency component is attenuated exponentially as exp(-kr), but for a broad-band excitation, the sum of the exponential laws also yields a power law but with a high exponent. Additional effects are discussed, for example the dispersion of the Rayleigh wave due to soil layering, which yields an additional exponent of 0.5 in cases of impulsive loading.

文摘Dominant frequency attenuation is a significant concern for frequency-based criteria of blasting vibration control.It is necessary to develop a concise and practical prediction equation describing dominant frequency attenuation.In this paper,a prediction equation of dominant frequency that accounts for primary parameters influencing the dominant frequency was proposed based on theoretical and dimensional analyses.Three blasting experiments were carried out in the Chiwan parking lot for collecting blasting vibration data used to conduct regression analysis of the proposed prediction equation.The fitting equations were further adopted to compare the reliability of three different types of dominant frequencies in the proposed equation and to explore the effects of different charge structures on the dominant frequency attenuation.The apparent frequency proved to be more reliable to express the attenuation law of the dominant frequency.The reliability and superiority of the proposed equation employing the apparent frequency were verified by comparison with the other five prediction equations.The smaller blasthole diameter or decoupling ratio leads to the higher initial value and corresponding faster attenuation of the dominant frequency.The blasthole diameter has a greater influence on the dominant frequency attenuation than the decoupling ratio does.Among the charge structures applied in the experiments,the charge structure with decoupling ratio of 1.5 and blasthole diameter of 48 mm results in the greatest initial value and corresponding fastest attenuation of the dominant frequency.

文摘The problem of robust active vibration control for a class of electro-hydraulic actuated structural systems with time-delay in the control input channel and parameter uncertainties appearing in all the mass, damping and stiffness matrices is investigated in this paper. First, by introducing a linear varying parameter, the nonlinear system is described as a linear parameter varying (LPV) model. Second, based on this LPV model, an LMI-based condition for the system to be asymptotically stabilized is deduced. By solving these LMIs, a parameter-dependent controller is established for the closed- loop system to be stable with a prescribed level of disturbance attenuation. The condition is also extended to the uncertain case. Finally, some numerical simulations demonstrate the satisfying performance of the proposed controller.

文摘Using a finite element method (FEM) program, a Portland cement concrete slab trackbed (So), and a sub- track asphalt roadbed (RAC-S) were modeled under high- speed train loads to analyze their responses to ground vibration attenuation, by considering 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 thick sub-track asphalt layer replaced on the top of the upper subgrade. FEM results show that the vibration amplitude of RAC-S is at least three times lower than the vibration for So. The maximum vibration amplitude of RAC-S is linearly increased with train speed. The vertical acceleration is found to be reduced by more than 10 % when the asphalt layer thickness is increased from 10 to 20 cm. However, the reduction in vertical acceleration is only about 1% when the thickness of the asphalt layer changes from 20 to 30 cm. The vibration level is slightly lower if the asphalt layer has higher resilient modulus in the seasons of autumn or winter. This theoretical analysis indicates that a railway substructure that consists of a 10-20 cm thick high modulus asphalt layer located at the top of trackbed shows a good performance in ground vibration control for high-speed rails.

文摘As an important part of lifeline engineering in the development and utilization of marine resources, the submarine fluid-filled pipeline is a complex coupling system which is subjected to both internal and external flow fields. By utilizing Kennard's shell equations and combining with Helmholtz equations of flow field, the coupling equations of submarine fluid-filled pipeline for n=0 axisymmetrical wave motion are set up. Analytical expressions of wave speed are obtained for both s=1 and s=2 waves, which correspond to a fluid-dominated wave and an axial shell wave, respectively. The numerical results for wave speed and wave attenuation are obtained and discussed subsequently. It shows that the frequency depends on phase velocity, and the attenuation of this mode depends strongly on material parameters of the pipe and the internal and the external fluid fields. The characteristics of PVC pipe are studied for a comparison. The effects of shell thickness/radius ratio and density of the contained fluid on the model are also discussed. The study provides a theoretical basis and helps to accurately predict the situation of submarine pipelines, which also has practical application prospect in the field of pipeline leakage detection.

文摘In order to reduce the influence of outliers on the parameter estimate of the attenuation formula for the blasting vibration velocity,a fuzzy nonlinear regression method of Sadov’s vibration formula was proposed on the basis of the fuzziness of blasting engineering,and the algorithm was described in details as well.In accordance with an engineering case,the vibration attenuation formula was regressed by the fuzzy nonlinear regression method and the nonlinear least square method,respectively.The calculation results showed that the fuzzy nonlinear regression method is more suitable to the field test data.It differs from the nonlinear least square method because the weight of residual square in the objective function can be adjusted according to the membership of each data.And the deviation calculation of least square estimate of parameters in the nonlinear regression model verified the rationality of using the membership to assign the weight of residual square.The fuzzy nonlinear regression method provides a calculation basis for estimating Sadov’s vibration formula’s parameters more accurately.
文摘Planetary gearboxes play a crucial role in altering rotary speed and transmitting power in large machines like wind turbines and sophisticated vehicles. There are many nonlinear interfaces, such as splines, bearings, and gear pairs, in planetary gearboxes, and the resulting vibration signal transmission and attenuation mechanisms are still unknown. In this study, a novel method for quantitatively analyzing the transmission and attenuation of vibration signals is proposed. A multibody dynamic model of the planetary gearbox considering nonlinear gear meshing is presented and experimentally validated. To avoid the interference of foundation vibration on the transmission of the fault signal, the fault impact factor(FIF) is used to describe the intensity of the failure, which aligns well with the experimental signals. Based on the FIF, the vibration signal attenuation of nonlinear interfaces such as splines, bearings, and gear meshing interfaces is quantitatively evaluated. To clarify the transfer paths of fault vibration signals inside the gearbox, the transfer path area method(TPAM) based on FIF is proposed. According to the simulated results,the primary transfer paths of fault vibration signals within the gearbox have been identified, which is of great help in understanding the transmission and attenuation of vibration signals in planetary gearboxes.

文摘The objective of the whole-spacecraft vibration isolation (WSVI) system is to reduce the launch-induced dynamic loads and the quality control cost of the satellite and its components, and to increase the launch reliability by insertion of isolators between the satellite and the launch vehicle. A niche hybrid genetic algorithm (NHGA) is proposed to optimize stiffness and damping of the isolators. Through the comparison of the frequency response analysis results, it shows that the optimized WSVI system more effectively reduces spacecraft axial / lateral response due to the broadband structure-born launch environment. At the same time, the case of the whole-spacecraft vibration isolation optimization design demonstrates the efficiency and validity of the genetic algorithm.

文摘In order to improve the performance of whole-spacecraft vibration isolation systems,choosing piezoelectric stacks and viscoelastic material as the active and passive vibration isolation components,an innovative whole-spacecraft hybrid vibration isolation system (WSHVIS) is designed and studied.The finite element method is used to establish the dynamic model of WSHVIS and analyze its frequency response characteristic.According to the analysis results,eigensystem realization algorithm is applied to obtain the minimum-order state-space model of WSHVIS,which is used to design controller.On this basis,off-line simulation and on-line realization for the WSHVIS is performed.The simulation and experimental results showed that WSHVIS can effectively reduce the vibration loads transmitted from launch vehicle to spacecraft.Compared with passive vibration isolation system,the hybrid vibration isolation system has a significant inhibitory effect on the low-frequency vibration components,and can greatly increase the safety and reliability of spacecraft.
文摘Presented in this paper is a semi active vibration control strategy based on the vibration absorber with adjustable clearance in elastic component. The control law of the clearance for alleviating the vibration of primary system is derived by means of harmonic balancing technique so that the working frequency of the vibration absorber can trace the frequency variation of the harmonic excitation. The efficacy of the strategy is demonstrated by numerical simulations for attenuating the steady state vibration of a SDOF system and a 2 DOF system, which are under the harmonic excitation with slowly varied frequency in a wide range.
文摘Blasting used for rock excavation is associated with ground vibrations having potential damage to surrounding structures.The extent of damage produced in a structure depends largely on ground motion characteristics,dynamic characteristics of structure and the type of geological strata on which it is founded.The safety of surrounding structures against blast vibrations is a cause of concern.However,use of a systematic approach to rock blasting helps to complete the excavation safely in time without endangering the safety of surrounding structures.Various steps are commonly adopted at construction sites to ensure safety of engineered structures against blast vibrations,e.g.adopting a suitable safe vibration level,developing site-specific attenuation relation,estimating safe charges for different distances,designing blasting pattern,and monitoring vibrations during actual blasting.The paper describes the details of studies conducted for ensuring safety of an 85 years old masonry dam and green concrete of varying ages during excavation of about 30,000 m;of hard rock in Maharashtra,India.The studies helped to complete the rock excavation safely in time and the safety of the dam was ensured by monitoring blast vibrations during actual rock excavation.
文摘A new class of support structures, called Periodic Structures, is introduced in this paper as a viable means for isolating the vibration transmitted from the sea waves to offshore platform structures through its legs. A passive approach to reduce transmitted vibration generated by waves is presented. The approach utilizes the property of periodic structural components that create stop and pass bands. The stop band regions can be tailored to correspond to regions of the frequency spectra that contain harmonics of the wave frequency, attenuating the response in those regions. A periodic structural component is comprised of a repeating array of cells, which are themselves an assembly of elements. The elements may have differing material properties as well as geometric variations. For the purpose of this research, only geometric and material variations are considered and each cell is assumed to be identical. A periodic leg is designed in order to reduce transmitted vibration of sea waves. The effectiveness of the periodicity on the vibration levels of platform will be demonstrated theoretically. The theory governing the operation of this class of periodic structures is introduced using the transfer matrix method. The unique filtering characteristics of periodic structures are demonstrated as functions of their design parameters for structures with geometrical and material discontinuities, and determine the propagation factor by using the spectral finite element analysis and the effectiveness of design on the leg structure by changing the ratio of step length and area interface between the materials is demonstrated in order to find the propagation factor and frequency response.

文摘The epoxy resin (E-51) was used as polymer matrix,conductive carbon black (CB) as conductive filler,and PZT was used to prepare a composite by curing.The effects of PZT and CB content on the properties of PZT/ CB/ EP piezoelectric composite were studied.When the PZT content reaches 40 wt%,the optimized vibration attenuation properties of PZT/CB/EP materials could be achieved with a loss factor of 0.9 from room temperature to 60 ℃.With the increase of PZT content,the bending strength of PZT/CB/EP piezoelectric composite vibration reduction material firstly increased from 45 MPa to 65 MPa and then decreased to 38 MPa.At room temperature,the dielectric constant increased from 7 to 50,and the dielectric loss increased from 0.1 to 0.5.
