The coatings consist mainly of WC, γ-Ni, Ni3B, CrB, Cr2B, M7C3, M23C6 and W2C phases. The W2C content increases with increasing WC mass fraction in the powders. The porosity and microhardness of the coatings are related to the coating WC content. The excessive WC results in decreasing the microhardness due to increasing the porosity. The WCp/ NiCrBSi coating with 35 % WC mass fraction powder has more excellent erosion resistance. With an increase of impact angles from 15° to 90° the erosion rate of the coating increases, the erosion rate at 15° impact angle being approximately two times lower than that at 90° impact angle. Based on the wear morphology of the coatings at different impact angles, the wear mechanisms were discussed.展开更多

The morphology, composition, and structure of the composites were analyzed before and after AO exposure in a ground sim- ulated facility of atomic oxygen. After 16 h AO exposure, the OPPOSS/PI composite with 5wt% OPPOSS addition shows an erosion rate of about 1.4×10-24 cm3/atom with only 48% mass loss of that of PI without OPPOSS addition. The mixture of OPPOSS nano molecules is assembled into a kind of regular square structure and distributed evenly in OPPOSS/PI composites. Some SiO2 particles are formed in the composites during AO exposure, which can act as "inert points" to reduce the AO erosion rate of OPPOSS/PI composites.展开更多

It was found that the resultant was not ABO3 perovskite single phase but dual phase La2NiO4 and NiO, and the percentage of the two phases varied with sintering temperature. Ceramics sintered at 1400 ℃ were well crystallized and the phase ratio of La2NiO4 was the maximum. The surface morphology observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) indicated that the grains of the ceramics sintered at 1400 ℃ were uniform and compact, which were in agreement with the properties of high density and low electrical resistivity of the samples. X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns of ceramics before and after arc erosion indicated their high structural stability, which resulted in the good arc erosion resistance properties for silver-based electrical contact materials. The contact materials prepared with the ceramic sintered at 1400 ℃ exhibited better mass transition and arc erosion resisting properties.展开更多

With the increase of h-BNp content, relative density and Vickers' hardness of the composite ceramics decrease, while the flexural strength, elastic modulus and fracture toughness increase and then decrease. The plasma erosion resistance linearly deteriorated with the increase of BNp content which is mainly determined by the density, crystal structure and atomic number of the elements.展开更多

In the present study, spherical WC-Co erodent particles were used in single particle impact testing of Ni-P-nano-NiTi composite coatings on API X100 steel substrates at two average velocities—35 m/s and 52 m/s. Erosion tests were performed at impact angles of 30°, 45°, 60°, and 90°. The effect of NiTi concentration in the coating was also examined. Through examination of the impact craters and material response at various impact conditions, it was found that the presence of superelastic NiTi in the brittle Ni-P matrix hindered the propagation of cracks and provided a barrier to crack growth. The following toughening mechanisms were identified: crack bridging and deflection, micro-cracking, and transformation toughening.展开更多

The results indicated that the interfacial reaction between the whisker and matrix alloy have an effect on the erosion characteristics of the composites. The erosion resistance of the composites with a strongly bonded whisker matrix interface and the higher whisker strength resulted from suitable reaction treatment can be improved at high impact angles and is the same as the as cast composites at low angle. For the composites after excessive reaction treatment, the weak and brittle interface fractures easily at small strains, and the whiskers with relative low strength and low hardness at the specimen surface can not effectively resist the microcutting or microploughing action, thus the composites exhibit reduced erosion resistance.展开更多

The present investigation uses an erosion apparatus of Sand Blast type. The test is conducted as per ASTMG-76 standards. It is analyzed that initially the cumulative coating mass loss increases rapidly and later on becomes almost stagnant. A transient regime in the erosion process exists, during which the incremental erosion rate decreases monotonically down to a steady state erosion rate.展开更多

In this work, the changes of structure and solid particle erosion resistance for CF/PC composites after ultraviolet irradiation were studied. It was shown that ultraviolet irradiation causes photo-oxygen aging and photo-fries re-arrangement of the composite, and the result was confirmed by FTIR. We correlated the solid particle erosion resistance with aging time, and found that the solid particle erosion resistance of CF/PC composites greatly decreased by UVB irradiation during 15 hours. Furthermore, the eroded material surface was analyzed using scanning electron microscope (SEM). It suggests that ultraviolet aging leads to plasticization and degradation, resulting in reduction of erosion resistance of the composite.展开更多

文摘WCp/NiCrBSi composite coatings have been deposited by plasma spraying with the mixed powders of WC-12Ni and NiCrBSi. Based on the wear morphology of the coatings at different impact angles, the wear mechanisms were discussed.

文摘Atomic oxygen (AO) found in low earth orbit can cause serious erosion to polyimide (PI) materials, which greatly limits their lifetime. 8-phenyl silsesquioxane (OPPOSS) was synthesized, and OPPOSS/PI composites were pre- pared by physical blending, followed by thermal imidization to enhance the AO erosion resistance of PI materials. Some SiO2 particles are formed in the composites during AO exposure, which can act as "inert points" to reduce the AO erosion rate of OPPOSS/PI composites.

文摘Ceramic LaNiO3 samples were prepared by solid state reaction method at different sintering temperatures. The contact materials prepared with the ceramic sintered at 1400 ℃ exhibited better mass transition and arc erosion resisting properties.

文摘BNp/Al2O3-SiO2 system ceramic matrix composites with different volume fractions (10%-60%) of hexagonal BN particulates (BNp) were prepared by hot-press sintering technique. Phase components, microstructure, mechanical properties and plasma erosion resistance were also investigated. With the increase of h-BNp content, relative density and Vickers' hardness of the composite ceramics decrease, while the flexural strength, elastic modulus and fracture toughness increase and then decrease. The plasma erosion resistance linearly deteriorated with the increase of BNp content which is mainly determined by the density, crystal structure and atomic number of the elements.

文摘This paper selected the typical wind-water erosion crisscross region Xiliugou watershed for research to reveal the impact of the landscape pattern change of the underlying surface in wind-water erosion crisscross region where soil erosion is most serious on rainfall and runoff as well as erosion and sediment.Based on the Landsat TM image data and measured data of runoff-sediment in that watershed, the paper analyzed the characteristics of watershed landscape pattern change and runoff-sediment and explored the relationship between landscape index and runoff-sediment yield by means of GIS and Fragstats. The results were included as follows.(1)Grassland was the dominant landscape. In terms of the number of patches and area change rate, from 1985 to 2010,cultivated land, forest land and construction land were most stable, followed by unused land.Unused land, grassland and cultivated land experienced the most dramatic conversion and maximally affected by human activities.(2)The inter-annual difference between annual runoff and annual sediment load was significant.Compared with the annual sediment load, the trend of decreasing runoff was more obvious. The correlation coefficient of runoff-sediment was 0.67,representing a significant correlation.(3)There was a significant correlation between the landscape index and runoff-sediment.The runoff was negatively correlated with the largest patch index, patch cohesion index, aggregation index and contagion index, but positively correlated with landscape morphology index and landscape division index. And the sediment was negatively correlated with the contagion index, aggregation index and plaque cohesion index, but positively correlated with other landscape indexes. The results indicate that with the increase of the largest patch index, patch cohesion index and aggregation index, the rainfall infiltration capacity increase obviously and the soil erosion reduce significantly. Therefore, increasing the largest patch index, patch cohesion and aggregation index of the watershed landscape can enhance the function of water storage and soil conservation as well as ecological optimization in the windwater erosion crisscross region. The results can provide theoretical support for the ecological environment construction and comprehensive utilization of water and soil resources.

文摘All characteristics of vegetation, runoff and sediment from 1960 to 2010 in the Xiliu Gully Watershed, which is a representative watershed in wind-water erosion crisscross region in the upper reaches of the Yellow River of China, have been analyzed in this study.Based on the remote sensing image data, and used multi-spectral interpretation method, the characteristics of vegetation variation in the Xiliu Gully Watershed have been analyzed. And the rules of precipitation, runoff and sediment's changes have been illuminated by using mathematical statistics method. What′s more, the influence mechanism of vegetation on runoff and sediment has been discussed by using the data obtained from artificial rainfall simulation test. The results showed that the main vegetation type was given priority to low coverage, and the area of the low vegetation coverage type was reducing year by year.On the country, the area of the high vegetation coverage type was gradually increasing. In a word, vegetation conditions had got better improved since 2000 when the watershed management project started. The average annual precipitation of the river basin also got slightly increase in 2000–2010.The average annual runoff reduced by 37.5%,and the average annual sediment reduced by 73.9% in the same period. The results of artificial rainfall simulation tests showed that the improvement of vegetation coverage could increase not only soil infiltration but also vegetation evapotranspiration, and then made the rainfall-induced runoff production decrease.Vegetation root system could increases the resistance ability of soil to erosion, and vegetation aboveground part could reduce raindrop kinetic energy and splash soil erosion. Therefore, with the increase of vegetation coverage, the rainfall-induced sediment could decrease.
文摘The addition of superelastic NiTi to electroless Ni-P coating has been found to toughen the otherwise brittle coatings in static loading conditions, though its effect on erosion behaviour has not yet been explored. The following toughening mechanisms were identified: crack bridging and deflection, micro-cracking, and transformation toughening.

文摘With 2 kW continuous wave Nd-YAG laser, SiC ceramic powder was laser-cladded on the AA6061 aluminium alloy surface. Within the range of process parameters investigated, the parameters were optimized to produce the SiC_p reinforced metal matrix composites(MMC) modified layer on AA6061 alloy surface. After being treated, the modified layer is crack-free, porosity-free, and has good metallurgical bond with the substrate. The microstructure and chemical composition of the modified layer were analyzed by such detection devices as scanning electronic microscope(SEM-EDX) and X-ray diffractometer(XRD). The performance of electrochemical corrosion and cavitation erosion and their mechanism were estimated by the microhardness tester, potentiostat and (ultrasonic-)(induced) cavitation device.
文摘Solid erosion of as cast and treated 19.5%(volume fraction) Al 18 B 4O 33 whisker/AC4C Al composites was investigated at room temperature under steady state conditions. For the composites after excessive reaction treatment, the weak and brittle interface fractures easily at small strains, and the whiskers with relative low strength and low hardness at the specimen surface can not effectively resist the microcutting or microploughing action, thus the composites exhibit reduced erosion resistance.

文摘Considering the economic and environmental benefits associated with the recycling of polyester(PET)fibres,it is vital to study the application of fibre-reinforced cement composites.According to the characteristics of the wind-blown sand environment in Inner Mongolia, the erosion resistance of the polyester fibre-reinforced cement composites(PETFRCC)with different PET fibre contents to various erosion angles, velocities and sand particle flows was investigated by the gas-blast method.Based on the actual conditions of sandstorms in Inner Mongolia, the sand erosion parameters required for testing were calculated by the similarity theory. The elastic-plastic model and rigid plastic model of PETFRCC and cement mortar were established, and the energy consumption mechanism of the model under particle impact was analyzed. The experimental results indicate that the microstructure of PETFRCC rafter hydration causes a spring-like buffering effect, and the deformation of PETFRCC under the same impact load is slightly smaller than that of cement mortar, and the damage mechanism of PETFRCC is mainly characterized by fiber deformation and slight brittle spalling of matrix. And under the most unfavorable conditions of the erosion, the erosion rate of 0.5PETFRCC is about 57.69%lower than that of cement mortar, showing better erosion resistance.
文摘In this study the mechanical and erosion wear behavior of bamboo fiber reinforce epoxy composites filled with Cement By-Pass Dust (CBPD) were studied. The effect of CBPD content and alkalization on the various properties of these composites was also investigated. Taguchi’s orthogonal arrays are used for analysis of experiential results. It identifies significant control factors influencing the erosion wear and also outlines significant interaction effects. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) test has also been performed on the measured data to find the most significant factors affecting erosion rate. Finally, eroded surfaces of both untreated and alkali treated bamboo fiber reinforced composites were characterized using SEM.

文摘The net erosion yield of CX-2002U carbon fiber composites under high-flux low-temperature hydrogen plasma is investigated using a linear plasma device. It is found that the net erosion yield decreases rapidly first, and then tends to saturate with the increase of hydrogen–plasma flux. When the temperature of the sample eroded by hydrogen plasma is above 300°C,the hybridization of electrons outside the carbon atom would change. Then the carbon atoms combine with hydrogen atoms to form massive spherical nanoparticles of hydrocarbon compounds and deposit on the surface at the flux condition of 1.77×10^(22) m^(−2)·s^(−1).Under the irradiation of hydrogen plasma loaded with negative bias, the surface morphology of the matrix carbon is changed dramatically. Moreover, the energy dependence of mass loss does not increase in proportion to the increase of hydrogen–plasma energy, but reaches a peak around 20 V negative bias voltage.Based on the analysis of different samples,it can be concluded that the enhancement of energy could make a contribution to chemical erosion and enlarge the size of pores existing on the surface.
文摘In order to understand the tribological behavior of red mud composite coatings, the red mud and composite materials like fly ash, carbon and aluminum are being plasma sprayed. The coatings are investigated to know their morphological behavior and erosion wear characteristics. Plasma spraying is done at different plasma arc current like 200, 250, 300 and 400 amperes. Torch input powers maintained as 6, 9, 12 and 16 KW. The substrates chose are rectangular in shape having a dimension of 50 mm × 25 mm × 2 mm. commercially available aluminum, copper, mild steel and stainless steel being used as substrate. Room temperature solid particle erosion trials are carried out using a compressed air blasting type rig under impact angles of 30o, 60o and 90o. The present investigation uses an erosion apparatus of Sand Blast type. The test is conducted as per ASTMG-76 standards. It is analyzed that initially the cumulative coating mass loss increases rapidly and later on becomes almost stagnant. A transient regime in the erosion process exists, during which the incremental erosion rate decreases monotonically down to a steady state erosion rate.
文摘The service life and properties of Carbon fiber reinforced polycarbonate (CF/PC) composites are seriously affected by ultraviolet radiation from outdoor exposure during aging. It suggests that ultraviolet aging leads to plasticization and degradation, resulting in reduction of erosion resistance of the composite.
