Measuring Recreational Value of World Heritage Sites Based on Contingent Valuation Method:A Case Study of Jiuzhaigou

World heritage possesses various kinds of use value and non-use value. Measuring the recreational value of world heritage sites is a key issue in the heritage tourism. This paper employs Contingent Valuation Method (CVM), which is an evaluation instrument on the basis of tourists′ attitude and preference, to measure the recreational value of Jiuzhaigou, one of the World Natural Heritage sites in China, and analyzes the biases in the survey. The results show that: 1) In 2009, Jiuzhaigou′s recreational value was 3.46×108 yuan (RMB), and the per capita Willingness to Pay (WTP) was 137.31 yuan by CVM. Compared with the results of other methods, this result is significantly low. 2) Among the factors that influence Jiuzhaigou tourists′ WTP, psychological perception factors have the greatest effect while demographic and socio-economic characteristics have a small effect on WTP. 3) The virtuality in CVM creates biases both from CVM itself and in the procedures that CVM was implemented. The former includes hypothetical bias, information bias, protest response bias, and strategic bias; and the latter includes the questionnaire design, population and sample definition, sampling and data processing. The paper analyses those biases and illustrates their potential in-fluences on the accuracy of CVM measurement. 4) Although there are various defects in CVM measurement, it is still an effective valuation method.

A Discrimination Index Based on Jain's Fairness Index to Differentiate Researchers with Identical H-index Values

Purpose:This paper proposes a discrimination index method based on the Jain’s fairness index to distinguish researchers with the same H-index.Design/methodology/approach:A validity test is used to measure the correlation of D-offset with the parameters,i.e.H-index,the number of cited papers,the total number of citations,the number of indexed papers,and the number of uncited papers.The correlation test is based on the Saphiro-Wilk method and Pearson’s product-moment correlation.Findings:The result from the discrimination index calculation is a two-digit decimal value called the discrimination-offset(D-offset),with a range of D-offset from 0.00 to 0.99.The result of the correlation value between the D-offset and the number of uncited papers is 0.35,D-offset with the number of indexed papers is 0.24,and the number of cited papers is 0.27.The test provides the result that it is very unlikely that there exists no relationship between the parameters.Practical implications:For this reason,D-offset is proposed as an additional parameter for H-index to differentiate researchers with the same H-index.The H-index for researchers can be written with the format of“H-index:D-offset”.Originality/value:D-offset is worthy to be considered as a complement value to add the H-index value.If the D-offset is added in the H-index value,the H-index will have more discrimination power to differentiate the rank of the researchers who have the same H-index.

The Junggar Basin in the northern part of Xinjiang is the second largest inland basin in China. It is located between the Altai and Tianshan Mountains, which is bounded by the Junggar bounded Mountain in the northwest, the Altai Mountains in the northeast and the North Tianshan Mountains in the south. It belongs to a triangular close inland basin, and extends 700 km in EW and 370 km in NS, covering an area of 38x104 km2. China's Technologies for Exploration and Mining of Uranium Deposits Have Stepped into the World's Top Team

On June 2011, the Beijing Research Institute of Uranium Geology, an Institute within the China National Nuclear Corporation （CNNC）, and the Department of Geology ＆ Mining CNNC carried out a project Scientific Drilling.for Deep Metallogenic Research in the Xiangshan Large Uranium Ore Field. A year later on June 21, the project, representing the first scientific drilling of China＇s uranium, was officially launched, and successfully completed on June 17, 2013. A 2818.88 m of drilling depth has broken the previous record 1200 m of exploration depth.

World-Universe Model Predictions

In 2013, World-Universe Model (WUM) proposed a principally different way to solve the problem of Newtonian Constant of Gravitation measurement precision. WUM revealed a self-consistent set of time-varying values of Primary Cosmological parameters of the World: Gravitation parameter, Hubble’s parameter, Age of the World, Temperature of the Microwave Background Radiation, and the concentration of Intergalactic plasma. Based on the inter-connectivity of these parameters, WUM solved the Missing Baryon problem and predicted the values of the following Cosmological parameters: gravitation G, concentration of Intergalactic plasma, relative energy density of protons in the Medium, and the minimum energy of photons, which were experimentally confirmed in 2015-2018. Between 2013 and 2018, the relative standard uncertainty of G measurements decreased x6. The set of values obtained by WUM was recommended for consideration in CODATA Recommended Values of the Fundamental Physical Constants 2014.

5D World-Universe Model. Gravitation

5D World-Universe Model is based on the decisive role of the Medium of the World composed of massive particles: protons, electrons, photons, neutrinos, and dark matter particles. In this manuscript we discuss different aspects of the gravitation: measured values of the Newtonian parameter of Gravitation and different Gravitational effects (gravitational lensing, cosmological redshift, gravitational deflection of light and gravitational refraction, proposed in the present paper). We show inter-connectivity of all cosmological parameters and provide a mathematical framework that allows direct calculation of them based on the value of the gravitational parameter. We analyze the difference between Electromagnetism and Gravitoelectromagnetism and make a conclusion about the mandatory existence of the Medium of the World. This paper aligns the World-Universe Model with the Le Sage’s theory of gravitation and makes a deduction on Gravity, Space and Time be emergent phenomena.
