The result shows that transport accessibility within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay area costs ‘one hour’ and the spatial distribution of accessibility in the area presents clear ‘core-periphery’ spatial characteristics, with Guangzhou, Foshan, Shenzhen constituting the core. The transport accessibility of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao is high. Average accessibility of urban nodes as measured by travel time is 0.99 h, and the areas accessible within 1.42 h occupy 79.14% of the total area. Most of the areas with the lowest accessibility are found in the peripheral area, with the worst accessibility being 4.73 h. Compared with the west-side cities, the economically developed east-side cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay area have higher connectivity with roads, railways, ports, and aviation transport. Guangzhou, Foshan, Zhuhai, Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao are closely linked. The higher the accessibility, the closer the intercity connectedness.展开更多

The results showed that the size of HZERA ecosystem became larger as total biomass was increased in last decade, especially in primary producer and zooplankton groups. Total system throughput increased from 7496.00 t km^(-2) yr^(-1) to 9547.54 t km^(-2) yr^(-1). The P/R(production/respiration) ratio decreased over the decade. Finn's cycling index and Finn's mean path length increased over the decade. No keystone species(KS) occurred during ten years; however, evidences of top-down control in 2003 and 2013 models were demonstrated by high KS value belonging to Lophius litulon group in food web. Drawing upon Odum's theory of ecosystem maturity, the structured, web-like ecosystem of 2013 model had developed into a highly mature system compared with that of 2003 model.展开更多

Forest loss is one of land cover changes, and it induces various eco-environmental degradation issues. As one of China’s hotspot regions, the Guangdong-Hong KongMacao Greater Bay Area(GBA) has undergone a dramatic urban expansion. To better understand forest dynamics and protect forest ecosystem, revealing the processes, patterns and underlying drivers of forest loss is essential. This study focused on the spatiotemporal evolution and potential driving factors of forest loss in the GBA at regional and city level. The Landsat time-series images from 1987 to2017 were used to derive forest, and landscape metrics and geographic information system(GIS) were applied to implement further spatial analysis. The results showed that: 1) 14.86% of the total urban growth area of the GBA was obtained from the forest loss in1987–2017;meanwhile, the forest loss area of the GBA reached 4040.6 km2, of which 25.60%(1034.42 km2) was converted to urban land;2) the percentages of forest loss to urban land in Dongguan(19.14%), Guangzhou(18.35%) and Shenzhen(15.81%) were higher than those in other cities;3) the forest became increasingly fragmented from 1987–2007, and then the fragmentation decreased from2007 to 2017);4) the landscape responses to forest changes varied with the scale;and 5) some forest loss to urban regions moved from low-elevation and gentle-slope terrains to higher-elevation and steep-slope terrains over time, especially in Shenzhen and Hong Kong.Urbanization and industrialization greatly drove forest loss and fragmentation, and, notably, hillside urban land expansion may have contributed to hillside forest loss. The findings will help policy makers in maintaining the stability of forest ecosystems, and provide some new insights into forest management and conservation.展开更多

In order to reveal the complicated hydrochemical changing process and the mechanism of fresh groundwater being polluted by saltwater, we conducted long-term observation and hydrochemical analysis at four observing sections of typical salt-fresh water transitional zone. The study indicates that seawater and brine intrusion processes have different hydrochemical features, and that ion exchange and adsorption actions between water and aquifer produce great influence on the intrusion.展开更多

The transgrassive area is about 10,000-11 ,500 km. If the effect of set-up of storm surge is considered, the transgressive area will reach 16,000 km. Sea level rise which is a serious coastal disaster not only inundates a lot of coastal lowland, but also increases the frequency and intensity of storm tides, and results in the salinization of soils. In vies of this situation we recommend a trinity comprehensive measure of treatment, namely, "building seawall to prevent tides-diverting the Hunaghe River to settle its sediment loads -raising the constructional base".展开更多

[Method]Based on four seasons survey from August( summer) and November( autumn) in 2012 to February( winter) and May( spring) in 2013,six indicators including total species number of fish, percentage of Sciaenidae species, percentage of Sparidae species, percentage of planktivorous species, percentage of benthic-feeding species and percentage of benthic-feeding and piscivorous species, were used in computing F-IBI of Egong Bay. The suitability of F-IBI was tested by principal component analysis( PCA) and Pearson correlation analysis. [Result]Total species number of fish, percentage of Sciaenidae species, percentage of Sparidae species, percentage of planktivorous species and percentage of benthic-feeding species were major assessment indicators for Egong Bay fisheries area. F-IBI of Egong Bay fisheries area was correlated with water temperature, salinity, chemical oxygen demand( COD) and petroleum, and was negative correlation to p H,dissolved oxygen( DO),dissolved inorganic nitrogen( DIN),reactive phosphate( PO_4^(3-)-P),and suspended matters. There were significant correction between the F-IBI with the salinity,COD,and suspended matters.[Conclusion]F-IBI system, based on total species number of fish, percentage of Sciaenidae species, percentage of Sparidae species, percentage of planktivorous species, percentage of benthic-feeding species and percentage of benthic-feeding and piscivorous species was feasible in Egong Bay fisheries area.展开更多

The results show that there are interdecadal changes in the frequency and intensity of the landfalling TCs in the GBA, with decreased frequency but increased intensity in the 2010 s. The TCs that landed in the west of the Pearl River Estuary(PRE) have the highest frequency and the strongest intensity during landing, which bring the strongest winds;the TCs that landed in the PRE have the lowest frequency and the shortest duration after landing, which cause the strongest precipitation;the TCs that landed in the east of the PRE have the longest duration on the land. This study shows that near the center of the TCs that landed in the PRE, there is a weak anomalous cyclonic shear compared with the ones that landed in the west of the PRE. It is a confluence area of anomalous north wind and anomalous southwest wind, with better water vapor convergence and dynamic rising conditions, which is conducive to the formation of heavy precipitation.Compared with the TCs that landed in the PRE and in its east, there is a closed positive anomalous center of pressure gradient in the northwest center of the TCs that landed in its west, resulting in higher wind speeds in the west of the PRE. The characteristics of the three types of TCs in the GBA are highly related to TC-induced damage. In the future, the GBA needs to focus on preparing for TCs landing in its west. Zhuhai, Jiangmen and Huizhou are key cities to guard against TCs. The results of this study provide foundations for effective management and reduction of TC disaster risks in the future development of the GBA.展开更多

文摘As one of the four largest bay areas with strong economic activities in the world, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area(GHMGBA)is located in the zone of interaction between the South China Block(SCB)and the South China Sea(SCS).Under the influence of complex geologic evolution,basin-range structures, fault systems and hot springs are well developed here. However, the characteristics of geological structures and the genetic mechanism of these geological phenomena are still unclear. Therefore,we performed ambient noise tomography to obtain 3-D upper crust(0-7.5 km)S-wave velocity structures of the GHMGBA by using 40-day continuous waveform data from 130 seismic stations in the GHMGBA.Our results show that sedimentary basins in the GHMGBA are mainly characterized by low-velocity anomalies.S-wave velocities of sediment formation in basins are about 2.8-3.1 km/s.Rapid changes in velocity appear at the edges of the basins, which correspond to the NE-,NEE-,and NW-trending faults, indicating prominent basin-controlling effects of the faults. The Sanshui Basin(SSB),the largest in the GHMGBA,has a developmental depth of about 4 km,and there is a significant difference in velocity gradient between the east and west sides of the basin, indicating that SSB has experienced east-west asymmetric expansion. Moreover, there are prominent low-velocity anomalies at a depth of about 4.5 km beneath the hot springs at the west of the Zhujiang(Pearl)River estuary(ZRE).We infer that the low-velocity anomalies are fluid reservoirs of the hot springs, which lead to the development of the hot springs on the surface. In addition, the distribution of main cities in the GHMGBA shows a spatial correlation with low-velocity areas at shallow depths(<3 km).The population development trend in the GHMGBA in the past 20 years is also mainly concentrated in the structural province of relatively low-velocity.In combination with the GHMGBA basin structures and drainage distribution characteristics,we suggest that the basic geological environment to some extent affects the habitability of the human settlement and thus determines the distribution and development trend of the main urban context. We believe that the 3-D S-wave velocity structure of the upper crust of the GHMGBA obtained in this study,as well as the deep structural characteristics of the basins and hot springs, will provide support to urban construction planning and geological hazards research of the GHMGBA.

文摘Innovation capitalization is a new concept in innovation geography research.Extant research on a city scale has proven that innovation is an important factor affecting housing prices and verified that innovation has a capitalization effect. However, few studies investigate the spatial heterogeneity of innovation capitalization. Thus, case verification at the urban agglomeration scale is needed. Therefore, this study proposes a theoretical framework for the spatial heterogeneity of innovation capitalization at the urban agglomeration scale.Examining the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area(GHMGBA),China as a case study, the study investigated the spatial heterogeneity of the influence of high-tech firms, representing innovation,on housing prices. This work verified the spatial heterogeneity of innovation capitalization. The study constructed a data set influencing housing prices, comprising 11 factors in 5 categories(high-tech firms, convenience of living facilities, built environment, the natural environment, and the fundamentals of the districts)for 419 subdistricts in the GHMGBA.On the global scale, the study finds that high-tech firms have a significant and positive influence on housing prices, with the housing price increasing by 0.0156%when high-tech firm density increases by 1%.Furthermore,a semi-geographically weighted regression(SGWR)analysis shows that the influence of high-tech firms on housing prices has spatial heterogeneity. The areas where high-tech firms have a significant and positive influence on housing prices are mainly in the GuangzhouFoshan metropolitan area, western Shenzhen-Dongguan,north-central Zhongshan-Nansha district, and Guangzhou—all areas with densely distributed high-tech firms. These results confirm the spatial heterogeneity of innovation capitalization and the need for further discussion of its scale and spatial limitations. The study offers implications for relevant GHMGBA administrative authorities for spatially differentiated development strategies and housing policies that consider the role of innovation in successful urban development.

文摘The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is witnessing a surge in economic development, showcasing robust resilience in the co-agglomeration of producer services and manufacturing industries, along with the increasingly evident impact generated by such co-agglomeration.Based on the panel data collected from ten cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area(excluding Zhaoqing)spanning from 2010 to 2020,we examined the formation mechanism for industrial co-agglomeration in the area from three dimensions:industrial correlation, spatial correlation, and policy guidance. Our analysis was based on a vertical correlation model and was validated using the seemingly unrelated regressions(SUR)method. The findings are as follows:(a)There currently exists no spatial correlation between the producer services and manufacturing sectors in the area, and the correlation between the two remains limited to the former providing specialized services to the latter.(b)Policy guidance has a positive impact on the location selection of industries within the area.By implementing a comprehensive range of favorable policies, local governments can provide effective and scientifically guided recommendations regarding the location of producer services and manufacturing sectors. Therefore,it is crucial to foster the collaboration between producer services and manufacturing sectors and further enhance the co-agglomeration between the two sectors. In addition, the government authorities should also strive to enhance its economic governance capacity, thereby facilitating the formation of such co-agglomeration.
文摘As the main window for the public to understand the outside world, mass media has an undeniable influence on economic and social development. The way in which the media reports on issues related to people with disabilities not only affects the voice of the disabled community, which determines the public image of the“disappearing”disabled community, but also affects the public awareness and recognition of the disability cause. To further explore the current status of mainstream media’s coverage of the disability cause, this article combines relevant concepts from media function theory and analyzes reports related to the integrated development of the disability cause in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area by using the examples of the Zhuhai Special Zone Daily,Southern Metropolis Daily, and Shenzhen Special Zone Daily since the release of the Development Plan Outline for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in 2019.The results show that the“Integrated Development of the Disability Cause in the Bay Area”presented in the reports has the characteristics of service-oriented and cooperation-based,which is in line with the overall trend of the development of China’s disability cause. However, due to factors such as a small overall quantity of related reports,a relatively single style of reporting and information sources, and a strong promotional tone, there still exists a certain difference between the“media reality”and objective reality constructed by these reports. Therefore, this article suggests that institutional media should fully strengthen their coverage of relevant topics, while enhancing the timeliness and readability of reports by enriching various reporting elements.By further enhancing the effectiveness of reporting and communication, the integrated development of the disability cause in the Bay Area can be effectively promoted.

文摘Based on geographic information system(GIS) spatial analysis technology, the spatial pattern of raster grid transport accessibility for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay area was studied and the states of spatial connectedness were simulated using highway passenger transport, railway passenger transport, port passenger transport and aviation passenger transport data. The higher the accessibility, the closer the intercity connectedness.

文摘Antarctic polynyas play an important role in regional atmosphere?ice?ocean interactions and are considered to help generate the global deep ocean conveyer belt.Polynyas therefore have a potential impact on the Earth’s climate in terms of the production of sea ice and high-salinity shelf water. In this study,we investigated the relationship between the area of the Terra Nova Bay polynya and the air temperature as well as the eastward and northward wind based on the ERA5 and ERAInterim reanalysis datasets and observations from automatic weather stations during the polar night. We examined the correlation between each factor and the polynya area under different temperature conditions.Previous studies have focused more on the effect of winds on the polynya, but the relationship between air temperature and the polynya area has not been fully investigated. Our study shows, eliminating the influence of winds, lower air temperature has a stronger positive correlation with the polynya area. The results show that the relationship between the polynya area and air temperature is more likely to be interactively influenced. As temperature drops, the relationship of the polynya area with air temperature becomes closer with increasing correlation coefficients. In the low temperature conditions, the correlation coefficients of the polynya area with air temperature are above 0.5,larger than that with the wind speed.

文摘Two Ecopath mass-balance models were implemented for evaluating the structure and function of Haizhou Bay Ecological Restoration Area ecosystem using 14 ecological indicators in two distinctive years(2003 and 2013). Drawing upon Odum's theory of ecosystem maturity, the structured, web-like ecosystem of 2013 model had developed into a highly mature system compared with that of 2003 model.

文摘China has experienced rapid urbanizations with dramatic land cover changes since 1978. The findings will help policy makers in maintaining the stability of forest ecosystems, and provide some new insights into forest management and conservation.

文摘[Objective] The aim was to study the hydraulic block scenarios in the water source land conservation zone in Jinshu Bay so as to ensure the water quality in the water sources in Jinshu Bay.[Method] By dint of one dimension water amount and water quality mode in the river net in Taihu, the water flow movement characteristics and pollutants transportation rules in the water sources areas in Jinshu Bay under five kinds of hydraulic block scenarios were compared and discussed.[Result] After demolishing the temporary soil dam in the water source conservation zone in Jinshu Bay,water amount and pollutants increased and water quality deteriorated. It was necessary to take certain hydraulic power to block and control the pollutants in the preservation area;after demolishing the dam, there was less water amount and pollutants. The water quality improved significantly. The hydraulic block facility in the preservation area and its surroundings were all releasing and not introducing;the one along the mouth of the river of Mentianji Gang,Jinshugang and Longtanggang were introducing and not releasing, which only restricted poor-quality water in Beijing-Hangzhou Canal and Huguang Canal flowing into the conservation zone. The water into the conservation zone was all from Gonghu. The water mobility within the conservation zone was good. The regional water quality improved to the largest scale.[Conclusion] Judging from the water flow movement characteristics and pollutants transportation rules in Jinshu Bay,the fifth proposal was more appropriate.

文摘Eastern and southern coastal zones of Laizhou Bay are the most representative seawater intruded areas in the world, with two intrusion sources of contemporary seawater and paleobrine. In order to reveal the complicated hydrochemical changing process and the mechanism of fresh groundwater being polluted by saltwater, we conducted long-term observation and hydrochemical analysis at four observing sections of typical salt-fresh water transitional zone. The study indicates that seawater and brine intrusion processes have different hydrochemical features, and that ion exchange and adsorption actions between water and aquifer produce great influence on the intrusion.

文摘The control effects of different occurrence faults on oil and gas accumulation and distribution in the outer slope area of oil and gas reservoirs were studied taking the south-central Wen’an slope of the Jizhong depression in the Bohai Bay Basin as an example.Based on 3D seismic data and the distribution of oil and water, the controlling differences between consequent fault and antithetic fault were analyzed and compared from the formation and evolution rule of faults and the formation mechanism of fault traps, including development positions of the consequent fault traps and antithetic fault traps, oil and gas distribution horizon adjusted by fault and formation period of fault traps. The differences between consequent faults and antithetic faults in controlling reservoirs have three main aspects:(1)Consequent fault traps and antithetic fault traps are in different positions, the consequent fault traps are at the segmented growing point in the hanging wall of"hard-linkage"faults,while the antithetic fault traps are developed in the position with the largest throw in the footwall because of tilting action;(2)The two kinds of faults result in different oil and gas distribution vertically, oil and gas adjusted by consequent faults is distributed in a single layer or multi-layers,while oil and gas adjusted by antithetic faults occur in single layers;(3)The two kinds of fault traps are formed in different periods, the consequent fault traps are formed at the time when the related faults enter the stage of"hard-linkage",while the antithetic fault traps are formed at the beginning of the fault active period.
文摘Business administration education plays an important part in supporting the development of business industry and ensuring the ongoing supply of qualified human resources to meet the demanding industry requirements. However, the dramatic growth of the economy has not been accompanied by an adequate response from the education system. It is therefore, necessary to review the existing business administration programs. This paper will make a comparison of the current undergraduate programs in Business Administration in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in the six dimensions:curriculum and instruction;strategic planning;administrative management;faculty;student achievements;and resources.Suggestions for the further development of Business Administration programs in the bay area will then be proposed.
文摘Based on the assumption of global sea level rising between 30 and 100 cm in the future 100 years by IPCC (1990) in addition to the effect of local ground subsidence, the coastline will retrograde for 50-70 km whose altitudes will be 2.6-3 .3m above MSL of Huanghai Sea in the western coastal area of the Bohai bay in 2100. In vies of this situation we recommend a trinity comprehensive measure of treatment, namely, "building seawall to prevent tides-diverting the Hunaghe River to settle its sediment loads -raising the constructional base".

文摘[Objective] The ecosystem health of the Egong Bay fisheries area in Shenzhen was assessed, based on the index of biological integrity of fish( F-IBI),for the reference of ecological restoration in typical fisheries area in the coast of South China Sea. There were significant correction between the F-IBI with the salinity,COD,and suspended matters.[Conclusion]F-IBI system, based on total species number of fish, percentage of Sciaenidae species, percentage of Sparidae species, percentage of planktivorous species, percentage of benthic-feeding species and percentage of benthic-feeding and piscivorous species was feasible in Egong Bay fisheries area.
文摘During the two sessions(NPC and CPPCC)held in 2018,when attending the Guangdong delegation deliberation President Xi Jinping pointed out that“we are supposed to make full use of the significant opportunities of constructing Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area(hereinafter referred to as Greater Bay Area),accelerate advancement of relevant work jointly with Hong Kong and Macao, and establish a world-leading bay area and a world-class city cluster”.
文摘The opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Highspeed Railway improved the connectivity of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area by shortening the driving time between the three areas within one hour, and injected new momentum into regional economic development. As a central city of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area,Hong Kong has established closer connections with the mainland through the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and high-speed railway, and unlocked new potential for the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative.Under the current international environment of competitiveness,to build a world-level Bay Area with great vigor and vitality requires the fostering of a positive environment for talent both in China and abroad,in which their ingenuity and expertise flow freely.
文摘The special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macao enjoy a high degree of autonomy from the national policy system in devising their local policies, including measures related to climate change.Hong Kong and Macao each have their own climate change policies, some aspects of which are more advanced than policies in China's Mainland. While their high degree of policy autonomy has advantages, this has also isolated them from China's larger environmental management and practices that continue to advance at scale. This paper reviews the climate change policies of the two special administrative regions and analyzes their strengths and innovations, particularly in adaptation. It also identifies areas where there could be closer engagement, collaboration, and capacity-building with the China's Mainland, which has the potential for greater positive impacts, especially on a regional basis.

文摘This paper applies statistical and synthetic analysis methods to study the characteristics of the three types of tropical cyclone(TC) that landed in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area(GBA) from 1981 to2018 and the reasons for the differences of TC-induced wind and precipitation. The results of this study provide foundations for effective management and reduction of TC disaster risks in the future development of the GBA.
