The results showed that the natural wetland and agricultural land tended to decrease, while the saltern, maricultural areas and construction land increased apparently. The overall landscape shape tended to develop in simplification and regulation and with the development of population and social economy, human’s intervention to the landscape was getting improved.展开更多

In present China, both the national policy and market of housing system are in the process of perfecting, which pay more attention to the low-income residents and rural residents. This paper chooses Tianjin, the third pole of China development as the example for research. Tianjin public housing residential district planning explored a mode of "large-scale mix and small-scale pure" for the whole homeland development. This paper introduces the extended theory of planned behavior to explore the intentions of residents to participate in heritage preservation, and further explains the influencing factors. Seven historic districts in Tianjin are selected as case studies. The results show that the residents' intentions to preserve heritage are positively influenced by three subjective perception factors of heritage preservation attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control, as well as two objective situational factors of environmental quality of historic district and policy guidance for heritage preservation. Furthermore, the objective situational factors indirectly influence heritage preservation intentions through the subjective perception factors. Based on these findings, this paper puts forward corresponding suggestions to enhance the heritage preservation intentions of community residents.展开更多

Particulate matter (PMlo and PM2.5) concentrations were monitored during the November 2008 by using the filter samples collected day and night from three sites in Tanggu District at Tianjin Binhai New Area, China. T...Particulate matter (PMlo and PM2.5) concentrations were monitored during the November 2008 by using the filter samples collected day and night from three sites in Tanggu District at Tianjin Binhai New Area, China. The mean concentrations of PM2.5 and PMlo rank in the order of urban (150 ug/m3 for PM2.5 and 197 ug/m3 for PM10) 〉 industrial (32 ug/m3 for PM2.5 and 170 ug/m3 for PM10) 〉 suburb area (27 ug/m3 for PM2.5 and 59 ug/m3 for PM10). Sixteen polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) were analyzed in PMlo and PM2.5 samples. Concentrations of total PAHs in PM2.5 and PMlo are in the range of 8.47- 113.94ng/m3 with average of 62.88ng/m3 and 21.07- 118.23 ng/m3 with average of 73.42 ng/m3, respectively. The light ring PAils (2-4 rings) are dominant in both PM2.5 and PMlo during sampling time compares with the heavy ring (5-6 rings) PAHs. The relationship of PAHs and PM2.5 (r = 0.689, p 〈 0.05) is stronger than PAHs and PMlo (r = 0.570, p 〈 0.05), illustrating PAHs tend to adsorb in PM2.5. In addition, principal component analysis was applied to find the source of PAHs. Three principal factors representing three types of PAHs sources in Tanggu District are extracted, which were coke production, pyrogenic sources and vehicular source.展开更多
Nowadays, Tianjin becomes a major economic development zone, emulating operations seen in Shenzhen and Shanghai. But the corresponding large-scale urban development is bringing great challenges to the existing modern ...Nowadays, Tianjin becomes a major economic development zone, emulating operations seen in Shenzhen and Shanghai. But the corresponding large-scale urban development is bringing great challenges to the existing modern architectural heritage, which is an indispensable part of Tianjin's history, character, and culture. The Wudadao Area in the previous British Concession is such a case. Through examining its development process, this research identif ies four modes of preservation strategies, and analyses the respective characteristics. Multiple stakeholders who take part in Wudadao's preservation and regeneration are recognized. Via case studies, the research elucidates the different roles played by responsible departments in Tianjin Municipal Government, state-owned enterprises, and local residents respectively. In a micro-circulation way, Wudadao has developed from an endangered colonial settlement to a re-recognized symbol of Tianjin's urban culture and a refurbished showcase of global identity.展开更多
