The experimental results showed that X phase forms prior to the precipitation of δ phase and disappears once tr phase starts to precipitate. This phenomenon indicates that a phase nucleated and consumed the Z phase. The δ phase nucleated mairdy at ferrite/austenite interface and grew inwards into the ferrite phase. The morphology of a phase reveals a coral-like structure at the temperature of 700 ℃ for 120 min followed by quenching in water. The decomposition of ferrite occurs via the following eutectoid reaction: F---*o'+y2. The selected area diffraction pattern of zone axes is[3 1 3-][3 1 3], indicating a characteristic orientation relationship between X phase and δ-ferrite.展开更多

It should ensure the welding quality and safety of pipeline. The task is very arduous to guarantee the quality of the project in the condition of long line, complex weather and geology features. In this paper, the welding cold cracking susceptibility of domestic X 70 pipeline steel adopted by the project, which is one of the most interesting questions of welding quality about petrol pipeline, was studied by means of oblique Y groove cracking test. The crack ratio of surface and section was tested under the conditions of different welding materials and preheat temperature .The thickness of plate steel was 14.7 mm and 10.3 mm . The results reveal that X 70 pipeline steel has good crack resistance. The research has important value for the construction of large scale pipeline engineering and the application of domestic X 70 pipeline steel.展开更多

In this work the main purpose is to know the mechanical behavior of a dissimilar weld between HSLA Steel and Superduplex Stainless Steel (SDSS) to establish if the joint is feasible or not. The alloys were welded with GTAW process using a 60-deg and 90-deg single-V groove test specimens in order to observe the effect of the weld pass. The filler metal was chosen with the aid of Schaeffler diagram. It was found that the ER 25.10.4L filler metal provided the best equilibrium between ferrite and austenite phase in the Superduplex Stainless Steel final microstructure and a band of martensite in the HSLA steel final microstructure. The dissimilar joint presented acceptable mechanical properties which are superior to the HSLA in the as-received condition, but lower than the SDSS in the as-received condition, proving that the filler metal was the adequate.展开更多

An iron steel grid, capable to absorb a significant portion of the backscattered radiation, was used. X-ray machine as a source for radiation was directed normally on the phantom, and the backscattered radiation was measured by using ion chamber. The measurements were recorded at various applied voltages (60 kvp to 120 kvp) and the fabricated grid was designed from iron steel constructed of perpendicular parallel strips mounted on a base. The results indicated that the use of iron steel grid was very effective in the reduction of backscattered radiation in an X-ray room up to about 46% by using fabricated iron steel grid.展开更多

The nonlinear behavior of low to medium rise ductile RC-MRCBFs using steel X-bracing susceptible to buckling is evaluated in this study. The height of the studied structures ranges from 4 to 20 stories and they were located for design in the lakebed zone of Mexico City. The design of RC-MRCBFs was carried out considering variable contribution of the two main lines of defense of the dual system (RC columns and steel braces). In order to observe the principal elements responsible for dissipating the earthquake input energy, yielding mappings for diff erent load-steps were obtained using both nonlinear static and dynamic analyses. Some design parameters currently proposed in MFDC-04 as global ductility capacities, overstrength reduction factors and story drifts corresponding to diff erent limit states were assessed as a function of both the considered shear strength and slenderness ratios for the studied RC-MRCBFs using pushover analyses. Additionally, envelopes of response maxima of dynamic parameters were obtained from the story and global hysteresis curves. Finally, a brief discussion regarding residual drifts, residual drift ratios, mappings of residual deformations in steel braces and residual rotations in RC beams and columns is presented. From the analysis of the obtained results, it is concluded that when a suitable design criterion is considered, good structural behavior of RC-MRCBFs with steel-X bracing can be obtained. It is also observed that the shear strength balance has an impact in the height-wise distribution of residual drifts, and an important “shake-down” eff ect is obtained for all cases. There is a need to improve design parameters currently proposed in MFDC to promote an adequate seismic performance of RC-MRCBFs.展开更多

The basic tendencies are similar that eary nucleation takes place in <111>ND fibers, <110>RD fibers are consumed at the end of recrystallization, and <111>ND texture dominates over annealing texture. However, the detailed texture transformation during batch annealing is different and somewhat more compicated than tha in rapid-heating process. Moreover, misorientation plays an important role in texture transformation of BA In addition, the results of EBSP are consistent with that of ODF well.展开更多

The results indicate that Cu is not microscopically segregated in the annealed steels. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) observation shows that the main microstructure consist of ferrite and pearlite; the percentage of pearlite in the steels increases with increasing Cu content. The grain size reduces with the decrease of the annealing temperature. The results of energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDXA) suggest that Cu content in pearlite is higher than that in ferrite, demonstrating that the microstructure-segregation of Cu occurred. However, the cast specimens show that Cu content in MnS and S-rich phases is high. In addition, Cu of 0.2%-0.4% could improve the distribution of MnS and S-rich inclusions. The optimal Cu content in steels and the optimal annealing temperature between 1100-1200℃ were determined.展开更多

Ablation characteristics were investigated through the macroscopic morphology and x-ray diffraction patterns on the surface of damaged zones, the microstructure and micro Vickers hardness on the cross-section of damaged zones, and the maximum rear-face temperature of sample sheets. It can be concluded that the ablation areas of uncoated sheet consist of the melted layer and the heat-affect layer. These ablation areas include not only the area ablated directly by the arc root, of which the depth is deeper, but also the area forming due to the splashing of molten steel, of which the depth is shallower and decreases when the area’s distance from the arc attachment point increases. For coated sheet, coating materials have decomposed and evaporated forming an ablation pit on the sheet surface, in which the steel surface is exposed, and zinc filler of coating primer has infused into the exposed surface. The ablation diameter of uncoated sheet relates to the amplitude of the 30/80 μs impulse current in quadratic function, while for coated sheet, the relation is linear. In general, under the 30/80 μs impulse current, the coating can decrease the energy injected from the arc to the steel sheet and reduce the melting and splashing of steel. As a result, the ablation severity of uncoated sheet is severer than that of coated sheet.展开更多
