River width and depth as key factors of diurnal activity energy expenditure allocation for wintering Spot-billed Ducks in the Xin'an River Basin

Rivers are important habitats for wintering waterbirds.However,they are easily influenced by natural and human activities.An important approach for waterbirds to adapt to habitats is adjusting the activity time and energy expenditure allocation of diurnal behavior.The compensatory foraging hypothesis predicts that increased energy expenditure leads to longer foraging time,which in turn increases food intake and helps maintain a constant energy balance.However,it is unclear whether human-disturbed habitats result in increased energy expenditure related to safety or foraging.In this study,the scan sample method was used to observe the diurnal behavior of the wintering Spot-billed Duck(Anas poecilorhyncha) in two rivers in the Xin’an River Basin from October 2021 to March 2022.The allocation of time and energy expenditure for activity in both normal and disturbed environments was calculated.The results showed that foraging accounted for the highest percentage of time and energy expenditure.Additionally,foraging decreased in the disturbed environment than that in the normal environment.Resting behavior showed the opposite trend,while other behaviors were similar in both environments.The total diurnal energy expenditure of ducks in the disturbed environment was greater than that in the normal environment,with decreased foraging and resting time percentage and increased behaviors related to immediate safety(swimming and alert) and comfort.These results oppose the compensatory foraging hypothesis in favor of increased security.The optimal diurnal energy expenditure model included river width and water depth,which had a positive relationship;an increase in either of these two factors resulted in an increase in energy expenditure.This study provides a better understanding of energy allocation strategies underlying the superficial time allocation of wintering waterbirds according to environmental conditions.Exploring these changes can help understand the maximum fitness of wintering waterbirds in response to nature and human influences. 展开更多

Parameter identification, model calibration, and uncertainty quantification are important steps in the model-building process, and are necessary for obtaining credible results and valuable information. Sensitivity analysis of hydrological model is a key step in model uncertainty quantification, which can identify the dominant parameters, reduce the model calibration uncertainty, and enhance the model optimization efficiency. There are, however, some shortcomings in classical approaches, including the long duration of time and high computation cost required to quantitatively assess the sensitivity of a multiple-parameter hydrological model. For this reason, a two-step statistical evaluation framework using global techniques is presented. It is based on (1) a screening method (Morris) for qualitative ranking of parameters, and (2) a variance-based method integrated with a meta-model for quantitative sensitivity analysis, i.e., the Sobol method integrated with the response surface model (RSMSobol). First, the Morris screening method was used to qualitatively identify the parameters' sensitivity, and then ten parameters were selected to quantify the sensitivity indices. Subsequently, the RSMSobol method was used to quantify the sensitivity, i.e., the first-order and total sensitivity indices based on the response surface model (RSM) were calculated. The RSMSobol method can not only quantify the sensitivity, but also reduce the computational cost, with good accuracy compared to the classical approaches. This approach will be effective and reliable in the global sensitivity analysis of a complex large-scale distributed hydrological model. 展开更多

This study evaluated the temporal and spatial variations of water quality data sets for the Xin'anjiang River through the use of multivariate statistical techniques, including cluster analysis (CA), discriminant analysis (DA), correlation analysis, and principal component analysis (PCA). The water samples, measured by ten parameters, were collected every month for three years (2008-2010) from eight sampling stations located along the river. The hierarchical CA classified the 12 months into three periods (First, Second and Third Period) and the eight sampling sites into three groups (Groups 1, 2 and 3) based on seasonal differences and various pollution levels caused by physicochemical properties and anthropogenic activ- ities. DA identified three significant parameters (tempera- ture, pH and E.coli) to distinguish temporal groups with close to 76% correct assignment. The DA also discovered five parameters (temperature, electricity conductivity, total nitrogen, chemical oxygen demand and total phosphorus) for spatial variation analysis, with 80.56% correct assignment. The non-parametric correlation coefficient (Spear- man R) explained the relationship between the water quality parameters and the basin characteristics, and the GIS made the results visual and direct. The PCA identified four PCs for Groups 1 and 2, and three PCs for Group 3. These PCs captured 68.94%, 67.48% and 70.35% of the total variance of Groups 1, 2 and 3, respectively. Although natural pollution affects the Xin'anjiang River, the main sources of pollution included agricultural activities, industrial waste, and domestic wastewater. 展开更多

Practical experience has demonstrated that single objective functions, no matter how carefully chosen, prove to be inadequate in providing proper measurements for all of the characteristics of the observed data. One strategy to circumvent this problem is to define multiple fitting criteria that measure different aspects of system behavior, and to use multi-criteria optimization to identify non-dominated optimal solutions. Unfortunately, these analyses require running original simulation models thousands of times. As such, they demand prohibitively large computational budgets. As a result, surrogate models have been used in combination with a variety of multi- objective optimization algorithms to approximate the true Pareto-front within limited evaluations for the original model. In this study, multi-objective optimization based on surrogate modeling (multivariate adaptive regression splines, MARS) for a conceptual rainfall-runoff model (Xin'anjiang model, XAJ) was proposed. Taking the Yanduhe basin of Three Gorges in the upper stream of the Yangtze River in China as a case study, three evaluation criteria were selected to quantify the goodness-of-fit of observations against calculated values from the simulation model. The three criteria chosen were the Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency coefficient, the relative error of peak flow, and runoff volume (REPF and RERV). The efficacy of this method is demonstrated on the calibration of the XAJ model. Compared to the single objective optimization results, it was indicated that the multi-objective optimization method can infer the most probable parameter set. The results also demonstrate that the use of surrogate-modeling enables optimization that is much more efficient; and the total computational cost is reduced by about 92.5%, compared to optimization without using surrogate model- ing. The results obtained with the proposed method support the feasibility of applying parameter optimization to computationally intensive simulation models, via reducing the number of simulation runs required in the numerical model considerably. 展开更多

A grid-based distributed hydrological model, the Block-wise use of TOPMODEL (BTOPMC), which was developed from the original TOPMODEL, was used for hydrological daily rainfall-runoff simulation. In the BTOPMC model, the runoff is explicitly calculated on a cell-by-cell basis, and the Muskingum-Cunge flow concentration method is used. In order to test the model's applicability, the BTOPMC model and the Xin'anjiang model were applied to the simulation of a humid watershed and a semi-humid to semi-arid watershed in China. The model parameters were optimized with the Shuffle Complex Evolution (SCE-UA) method. Results show that both models can effectively simulate the daily hydrograph in humid watersheds, but that the BTOPMC model performs poorly in semi-humid to semi-arid watersheds. The excess-infiltration mechanism should be incorporated into the BTOPMC model to broaden the model's applicability. 展开更多

现有新安江模型数学上是代数方程并限于一阶差分方法求解,不可避免存在数值误差,探索数值求解误差控制新途径,对于提高模型计算精度具有重要意义。基于微分系统框架,识别新安江模型的状态变量和通量,推导其控制方程和本构方程,提出微分... 现有新安江模型数学上是代数方程并限于一阶差分方法求解,不可避免存在数值误差,探索数值求解误差控制新途径,对于提高模型计算精度具有重要意义。基于微分系统框架,识别新安江模型的状态变量和通量,推导其控制方程和本构方程,提出微分形式的新安江模型(ODE-XAJ),并采用四阶显式Runge Kutta法求解。数值实验结果显示,以解析解为基准,ODE-XAJ绝对误差处于或小于10-4mm量级,可实现对解析解的高阶近似;以ODE-XAJ结果为基准,按归一化平均绝对误差评价,现有新安江模型的数值求解误差约为8.7%。典型流域应用结果显示,ODE-XAJ确定性系数提升0.02,洪量相对误差降低4.3%。研究表明,ODE-XAJ理论上分离了模型的数学方程与具体解法,可有效控制数值求解误差,提升模型模拟精度。 展开更多

目的探讨血栓心脉宁片是否可通过调控转化生长因子β_(1)(TGF-β_(1))和Runt相关转录因子2(Runx2)表达抑制血管平滑肌细胞的钙化。方法取对数生长期大鼠血管平滑肌细胞,实验分为5组:阴性组细胞加入DMEM培养液培养;钙化组加入β-磷酸甘油... 目的探讨血栓心脉宁片是否可通过调控转化生长因子β_(1)(TGF-β_(1))和Runt相关转录因子2(Runx2)表达抑制血管平滑肌细胞的钙化。方法取对数生长期大鼠血管平滑肌细胞,实验分为5组:阴性组细胞加入DMEM培养液培养;钙化组加入β-磷酸甘油(β-GP)作用24 h诱导血管平滑肌细胞钙化;血栓心脉宁低、中、高剂量组先分别加入125 mg/L、250 mg/L、500 mg/L的血栓心脉宁片培养24 h后再给予β-GP作用24 h。采用CCK-8法检测各组细胞活力,酶标仪检测各组细胞中钙含量、碱性磷酸酶(ALP)活性及TGF-β_(1)含量,Western blot法检测细胞中Runx2蛋白表达情况。结果与阴性组比较,钙化组细胞活力明显下降(P<0.05),细胞中钙含量、ALP活性、TGF-β_(1)含量及Runx2蛋白相对表达量均明显升高(P均<0.05);与钙化组比较,血栓心脉宁各组细胞活力均明显提高(P均<0.05),细胞中钙含量、ALP活性、TGF-β_(1)含量及Runx2蛋白相对表达量均明显降低(P均<0.05),且各指标均呈浓度依赖性变化。结论血栓心脉宁片可能通过调控TGF-β_(1)和Runx2的表达,抑制大鼠血管平滑肌细胞的钙化。 展开更多

目的从肠道菌群代谢产物氧化三甲胺(TMAO)、脂多糖(LPS)的变化角度探讨芪苈强心胶囊对心肌梗死后大鼠心肌纤维化的影响和作用机制。方法将60只大鼠随机分为假手术组、模型组、芪苈强心高剂量组(1.0 g/kg)、芪苈强心中剂量组(0.5 g/kg)... 目的从肠道菌群代谢产物氧化三甲胺(TMAO)、脂多糖(LPS)的变化角度探讨芪苈强心胶囊对心肌梗死后大鼠心肌纤维化的影响和作用机制。方法将60只大鼠随机分为假手术组、模型组、芪苈强心高剂量组(1.0 g/kg)、芪苈强心中剂量组(0.5 g/kg)、芪苈强心低剂量组(0.25 g/kg)、培哚普利组(0.84 mg/kg),每组10只。造模时死亡13只,灌胃时死亡5只,最终假手术组8只,模型组8只,芪苈强心高剂量组7只,芪苈强心中剂量组6只,芪苈强心低剂量组7只,培哚普利组6只。超声心动图检测各组大鼠的左心室射血分数(LVEF)、左心室短轴缩短率(LVFS)、左心室舒张末期内径(LVEDD)、左心室收缩末期内径(LVEDS),苏木精-伊红染色检测心肌与回肠组织的病理形态,Masson染色检测心肌纤维化程度,计算心肌胶原容积分数(CVF),液相色谱-质谱法检测血浆TMAO的含量,酶联免疫吸附测定可溶性生长刺激表达基因2蛋白(sST2)和LPS的含量。结果与假手术组比较,模型组大鼠LVFS、LVEF显著降低,LVEDD、LVEDS、sST2、TMAO、LPS显著升高(P<0.05,P<0.01);与模型组比较,芪苈强心高、中、低剂量组及培哚普利组大鼠LVFS、LVEF显著升高,芪苈强心高剂量组大鼠血浆sST2浓度[(2025.45±413.13)pg/ml vs(2800.86±208.64)pg/ml]、血浆TMAO含量[(351.68±129.01)ng/ml vs(641.41±188.44)ng/ml]、血浆LPS浓度[(420.22±62.32)EU/L vs(594.62±83.40)EU/L]显著降低(P<0.05,P<0.01)。结论芪苈强心胶囊可能通过抑制肠道菌群代谢产物TMAO、LPS改善心肌纤维化,具体机制还需进一步探究。 展开更多

《庄子·齐物论》“成心”意蕴探析

“成心”是《庄子·齐物论》中的重要概念,但关于“成心”的解释自古以来便有争议,且古人与今人学者诠释“成心”的褒贬倾向也有着明显不同。若从逻辑认知的角度来看,“成心”以贬义解就更为合理,若从超越是非逻辑的“道通为一”来... “成心”是《庄子·齐物论》中的重要概念,但关于“成心”的解释自古以来便有争议,且古人与今人学者诠释“成心”的褒贬倾向也有着明显不同。若从逻辑认知的角度来看,“成心”以贬义解就更为合理,若从超越是非逻辑的“道通为一”来看,“成心”如同从有限中通往无限的途径,既可以通向齐物之境,又可以导向世俗的是非。只有从超越逻辑的角度,才能发现欲求对“成心”作出正确的理解,本身就是将其置于是非的定义之中,这就导致即便可以从逻辑上确定“成心”的贬义立场,也只是在不自觉间成为庄子批判的对象。 展开更多

碑文于两晋之时多为叙述性,近于赋之铺陈,故易受赋影响,常主动借鉴赋之写法。两晋碑文沿袭汉碑传统,在题材、句式、用韵上多与辞赋“同体异用”,且常以赋家笔法叙述碑主家族功勋、描绘历史背景、敷陈碑主德行事业,使得碑文辞采增华,赋... 碑文于两晋之时多为叙述性,近于赋之铺陈,故易受赋影响,常主动借鉴赋之写法。两晋碑文沿袭汉碑传统,在题材、句式、用韵上多与辞赋“同体异用”,且常以赋家笔法叙述碑主家族功勋、描绘历史背景、敷陈碑主德行事业,使得碑文辞采增华,赋化倾向更为明显。“碑文似赋”实与魏晋文学自觉相关,援赋笔破体为文,虽使碑文一改汉魏体制,篇幅增长,但在整体上增强了其文学性、可读性和感染力,强化了其文学张力,使得泛文学观念落到了实处。 展开更多
