Yu Xiangzhi:Presenting Working People's Enthusiasm and Dedication in the New Era via Paintings

In recent years,artist Yu Xiangzhi has focused on the new outlook of the working people in the new era and created a series of portraits called "Paean to Heroes",presenting working people's enthusiasm and dedication in the new era with paintings.He hopes that this series of works can resonate with the public,who will pay more attention to the life and working conditions of grassroots workers.Recently,this magazine has interviewed Yu Xiangzhi and talked about the story behind the creation of his "Paean to Heroes"series of oil paintings.

Zhu Fan Zhi and the Maritime Road of Aromatic Medicine in the Song Dynasty

Zhao Rukuo's Zhu Fan Zhi in the Southern Song dynasty was the first book in the history of China to systematically describe the “Maritime Silk Road”, recording the geography, products, customs, trade, etc. of more than 50 foreign countries and regions. The book included a large amount of medical literature, introducing medical customs and the production of drugs in various places, as well as the efficacy of some medicine. These materials are of unique value for understanding the medicine trade in the Song dynasty, and even the medical culture along the “Maritime Road of Aromatic Medicine”.

EFFECTS OF BU GU ZHI(PSORALEA CORYLIFOLIA L) AND BAI ZHI(DAHURIAN ANGELICA ROOT) EXTRACTS ON MELANOCYTE ADHESION AND MIGRATION

Objective To find direct effect of Chinese herbs Bu Gu Zhi (Psoralea corylifolia L) and Bai Zhi (Dahurian angelica root) Extracts on melanocyte adhesion and migration in vitro. Methods Ethanol extracts obtained from two kind of Chinese medicinable herbs were tested. Human melanocytes were obtained from neonatal foreskins and 48-well culture dish covered with fibronectin were used to perform melanocyte adhesion assay; Motility was assessed using the micropore filter method. Results: The extracts of Bu Gu Zhi(Psoralea corylifolia L), Bai Zhi(Dahurian angelica root) obviously showed an effect in increasing of human melanocyte adhesion and migration on fibronectin. Conclusion It is suggested that Buguzhi(Fructus Psoraleae) and Baizhi(Radix Angelicae Dahuricae) might induce melanocyte adhesion and/or migration in the treatment of vitiligo.

Effects of Er-Zhi-Wan on Microarchitecture and Regulation of Wnt/β-catenin Signaling Pathway in Alveolar Bone of Ovariectomized Rats

Recent studies have shown that Er-Zhi-Wan（EZW）, a traditional Chinese medicine consisting of Herba Ecliptae（HE） and Fructus Ligustri Lucidi（FLL）, had a definite antiosteoporotic effect on osteoporotic femur, but its effect on osteoporosis of alveolar bone remains unknown. In the present study, we investigated the effects of Er-Zhi-Wan（EZW） on the microarchitecture and the regulation of Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway in the alveolar bone of ovariectomized rats. Thirty Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into three groups： sham operation group（sham, n=10）, ovariectomy（OVX） group（n=10）, and OVX with EZW treatment group（EZW group, n=10）. From one week after ovariectomy, EZW（100 mg/mL） or vehicle（distilled water） was fed（1 mL/100 g） once per day for 12 weeks until the sacrifice of the rats. The body weights were measured weekly. After sacrifice, the sera and mandible were collected and routinely prepared for the measurement of alveolar trabecular microarchitecture, serum levels of E2, bone-specific alkaline phosphatase（BALP） and tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase 5b（TRAP5b）, as well as mandibular mRNA expression of Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway molecules wnt3a, low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 5（LRP5）, β-catenin and dickkopf homolog 1（DKK1）. The results showed that EZW treatment significantly prevented the body weight gain, degradation of alveolar trabecular microarchitecture and alveolar bone loss in the OVX rats. Furthermore, we observed that EZW could increase the serum levels of E2 and BALP, and decrease levels of serum TRAP5b in EZW group compared with vehicle group. In addition, RT-PCR results revealed that EZW upregulated the expression levels of wnt3a, LRP5 and β-catenin, and reduced the expression of DKK1 in OVX rats. Taken together, our results suggested that EZW may have potential anti-osteoporotic effects on osteoporotic alveolar bone by stimulating Wnt/LRP5/β-catenin signaling pathway.

交互式审理模式是一种创新的在线审理模式,实现了从“异地同时”向“异地异时”的延伸。最高人民法院《关于人民法院在线办理案件若干问题的规定(征求意见稿)》中明确了此种审理模式。其在形式上近似于“在线书面审理模式”或“斯图加特审理模式”,但在价值追求上及适用方式上有所不同,对于司法的仪式感及审判公开原则中直接、口头、对席原则等造成的冲击,可通过扩张民事诉讼程序适用范围、限定技术的应用范围与条件等措施在一定程度上予以化解。交互式审理模式以技术为支撑,以“简案快审,高效解纷”为目标,是在繁简分流的改革试点中作出的有益探索,在提高诉讼信息沟通有效性、优化民事诉讼效益、提高数据利用效率等方面具有实践合理性。本文以广州互联网法院交互式审理案件的运用实例为分析样本,评价其功效,并对该模式在夯实技术基础、拓宽应用场景、推广模式适用等方面的发展前景予以展望。

Plant Regeneration from In Vitro Cultured Hypocotyl Explants of Euonymus japonicus Cu zhi

Adventitious shoots were successfully regenerated from hypocotyl explants of in vitro cultures of Euonymus japonicus Cu zhi. Hypocotyl slices were cultured on Murashige and Skoog （MS） and B5 basal medium supplemented with varied concentration of different plant growth-regulators, e.g., α-naphthaleneacetic acid （NAA） and indole-3-butyric acid （IBA） in combination with 6-benzylaminopurine （6-BA） and kinetin. The study showed that shoots could be directly regenerated from hypocotyl explants without the intervening callus phase; MS medium was more suitable for adventitious shoots regeneration. The ability of hypocotyls segments to produce shoots varied depending upon their position on the seedlings. The highest regeneration rate was obtained with hypocotyl segments near to the cotyledon cultured on MS basal medium supplemented with 1.5 mg L^-1 6-BA and 0.05 mg L^-1 NAA （63.64%）. The regenerated shoots were readily elongated on the same medium as used for multiplication and rooted on half-strength MS basal medium supplemented with 1.0 mg L^-1 IBA and 100 mg L^-1 activated carbon. After being transferred to greenhouse conditions, 96% of the plantlets were successfully acclimatized. This regeneration system is applied for genetic transformation now.

Astronomical Tables in the“Lü-li zhi”:On the Characteristics and Adoption of“Licheng”Pick-up Tables

This article discusses the development of astronomical tables in ancient China based on the calendrical chapter titled“Lü-li zhi”律曆志(Monograph on harmonics and calendrical astronomy)in official histories.After surveying various types of astral scientific tables in ancient China and their layouts,this paper discusses the characteristics and adoption of“licheng”立成tables,a specific kind of pick-up table that seems to have come into use in the Sui period(581–618)and to have been widespread from the Tang period(618–907)onward.The emergence of licheng tables relates largely to the internal development of ancient Chinese astronomy,but they were also probably inspired by auspicial tables and foreign astronomical tables.By comparing tables recorded in the“Lü-li zhi”and the existing licheng tables,we find that most licheng were deleted during the compilation of“Lü-li zhi”to reduce the number of volumes.Moreover,this paper discusses several common solutions used to compress the size of tables in“Lü-li zhi.”The adoption of licheng tables into the ancient Chinese astral sciences and the reformatting of them in“Lü-li zhi”give us a different perspective for understanding the development of ancient Chinese astronomical tables and the compilation of the calendrical portion of official histories.

Simultaneous quantification of five major active components in capsules of the traditional Chinese medicine 'Shu-Jin-Zhi-Tong' by high performance liquid chromatography

A simple and reliable high performance liquid chromatography （HPLC） method has been developed for the simultaneous quantification of five major bioactive components in ＇Shu-Jin- Zhi-Tong＇ capsules （SJZTC）, for the purposes of quality control of this commonly prescribed traditional Chinese medicine. Under the optimum conditions, excellent separation was achieved, and the assay was fully validated in terms of linearity, precision, repeatability, stability and accuracy. The validated method was applied successfully to the determination of the five compounds in SJZTC samples from different production batches. The HPLC method can be used as a valid analytical method to evaluate the intrinsic quality of SJZTC.

The Research on the Evaluation and Optimization of the Traditional Dwelling Conservation Practice:A Case Study of Cheng Zhi Hall Restoration Project within Hongcun

Hongcun is the World Cultural Heritage which is a Traditional Village in China,and Cheng Zhi Hall is the most important traditional dwelling within Hongcun.In December 2010,Yi County Cultural Relics Bureau commissioned Anhui Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Center to complete the Restoration Plan of Cheng Zhi Hall,Hongcun Village,Yi County,Huangshan City,Anhui Province,and carried out the actual restoration project from 2015 to 2018.However,by the evaluation of the restoration plan and project of Cheng Zhi Hall,many problems are found such as that the description of restoration measures is rough,the restoration drawings are not clearly marked,and the restoration practices are lack of the theoretical support and so on.Therefore,the aim of this research is to sort out the existing problems,and through the comparative study of the relevant Italian cases,putting forward the optimization strategies of the plan and practice of traditional dwelling conservation practice in China.

Efficacy and safety of Shen Zhi Ling oral liquid(a Chinese patent)for Alzheimer's disease:A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Shen Zhi Ling oral liquid(SZL)alone or combined with basic treatment in treating Alzheimer's Disease(AD).Methods:Databases including PubMed,the Cochrane Library,Embase,Web of science,China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Wanfang Database and the Chinese Science and Technology Journal Database(VIP)were searched from inception to September 20,2020 to collect relevant randomized controlled trials(RCTs)comparing SZL with other nootropic drugs for AD.The primary clinical outcomes were scores of the Mini Mental State Examination(MMSE)and the Activities of Daily Living(ADL)during treatment.The secondary outcomes of our study included other neuropsychological scale scores including Rapid Verbal Retrieve(RVR),Digit Span(DS),Fuld Object-Memory Evaluation(FOM)and adverse events or reactions.Two authors searched and screened the literature independently,then extracted the data and evaluated the methodological quality by using the handbook of Cochrane Collaboration,and analyzed the data via the Review Manager 5.3 software.Results:In total,we included four studies,covering 217 participants.All studies were in a low methodological quality.The result of MMSE score,ADL score,RVR score,DS score and FOM score in the meta-analysis showed that no statistically significant difference(P>0.05)between the treatment groups and control groups,and the statistical heterogeneity of all meta-analyses was small(I2<50%).SZL was indicated no better than other nootropic drugs.Among the included studies,no study described adverse events.Conclusions:Considering the low quality of the included trials and the different levels of AD patients,we are unable to come to any conclusion about the efficacy and safety of SZL compared with other nootropic drugs.Moreover,we still need rigorously designed,multi-center,large-scale trials to further confirm the efficacy and safety of SZL.

Improvement of TLC Identification of Matrine in Jin Weng Zhi Li Granule

[Objectives] The aim of this study was to screen out the TLC conditions of matrine in Jin Weng Zhi Li Granule. [Methods]Referring to the method of Chinese Veterinary Pharmacopoeia,the composition,chromogenic agent and expansion conditions of the developer were optimized,and matrine was qualitatively identified by TLC. [Results] After optimizing TLC conditions of Jin Weng Zhi Li Granule,that is,the thin layer plate was pre-equilibrated in the expansion cylinder for 5 min after spotting,the separation effect of TLC of test samples was favorable. The spot color was clear,reproducibility was good,precision was high,specificity was better. [Conclusions] The method was of good feasibility,reproducibility and specificity,and could be used for qualitative detection of matrine in Jin Weng Zhi Li Granule dampnessheat and diarrhea disease.

[Objectives] To screen TLC conditions of forsythin contained in Jin Weng Zhi Li Granule. [Methods] According to the method described in Chinese Veterinary Pharmacopoeia,thin layer chromatography was used for qualitative identification of forsythin contained in Jin Weng Zhi Li Granule by improving the developing conditions. [Objcetives]To study on the original plant,medicinal materials and microscopic identification of Yi Nationality crude herb Te-zhipa of Ageratum conyzoides L.,and provide experimental data for identification and application. [Methods] The original plant identification,character identification,microscopic structure identification,powder identification were adopted in theresearch.[Results] The characteristics of Yi Nationality crude herb Te-zhi-pa were obvious in the original plant,crude herband microscopic characteristics. [Conclusions]The result was provided some reference for the formulation of quality standards and original plant identification for Yi Nationality crude herb " Te-zhi-pa",and provided the basis for the further research.
