Comparison between seismic analysis of twisting and regular 52-story towers considering soil-structure interaction

A dynamic analysis of both twisting and regular towers is carried out to determine the results of considering soil-structure interaction(SSI)on high-rise buildings.In addition,the difference between the seismic performance of using twisting towers over regular ones is investigated.The twisting tower is a simulation of the Evolution Tower(Moscow).The towers’skeletons consist of RC elements and rest on a reinforced concrete piled-raft foundation.The soil model is considered as multi-layered with the same soil properties as the zone chosen for the analysis(New Mansoura City,Egypt).The only difference between both towers is their shape in elevation.The whole system is modelled and analyzed in a single step as one full 3D model,which is known as the direct approach in SSI.All analyses are carried out using finite-element software(Midas GTS NX).Dynamic output responses due to three records of seismic loads are proposed and presented in some graphs.Based on the results,it is concluded that SSI has a considerable effect on the dynamic response of tall buildings mainly because of the foundation flexibility,as it leads to lengthening the vibration period,increasing the story drift and the base shear for both cases.

Progressive Collapse Resistance of a New Staggered Story Isolated System

A new staggered isolated system developed from the mid-story isolated system is the new staggered story isolated system. There are not many studies on this structure currently. In this study, an 18-story new staggered story isolated system model is established using SAP2000. The dynamic nonlinear dynamic alternate method is used to analyze the structure against progressive collapse. Results show that the structure has good resistance to progressive collapse, and there is no progressive collapse under each working condition. The progressive collapse does not occur for the case of removing only one vertical structural member of the new staggered of isolated system. The side column has big influence on this isolated structures’ progressive collapse;the removal of vertical structural member of the isolation layer has less impact on the structure than the removal of the bottom vertical structural member. After the removing of the member, the internal force of the structure will be redistributed, and the axial force of the adjacent columns will change obviously, showing a trend of “near large and far small”.

Seismic Response of Adjacent Structure to Inter-Story Isolated Structure

Currently, land resources are becoming more and more constrained and structures are getting closer to each other. To investigate the seismic response of inter-story isolated structure to adjacent structure, models considering no soil-structure interaction (SSI), considering soil-structure interaction (SSI), and considering structure-soil-structure interaction (SSSI) were established. Nonlinear seismic response comparative analysis was conducted by varying the spacing between adjacent structure and inter-story isolated structure, as well as the weight of adjacent structure, under different earthquake inputs, in order to obtain the structural response characteristics. The results indicate that the inter-story drift and inter-story shear of the inter-story isolated structure without considering SSI are smaller than those considering SSI and SSSI. The inter-story drift and inter-story shear of the inter-story isolated structure considering SSSI are further affected compared to that of the inter-story isolated structure considering only SSI. As the spacing between adjacent structure and inter-story isolated structure increases, the influence of adjacent structure on inter-story isolated structure decreases. The variation in the spacing between the two structures has a negligible effect on the isolation layer of the inter-story isolated structure. With the increase in the weight of adjacent structure, the influence of adjacent structure on inter-story isolated structure becomes more significant. The increasing weight of adjacent structure has an increasing effect on the Isolation layer of the inter-story isolated structure.

Qualia Role-Based Quantity Relation Extraction for Solving Algebra Story Problems

A qualia role-based entity-dependency graph(EDG)is proposed to represent and extract quantity relations for solving algebra story problems stated in Chinese.Traditional neural solvers use end-to-end models to translate problem texts into math expressions,which lack quantity relation acquisition in sophisticated scenarios.To address the problem,the proposed method leverages EDG to represent quantity relations hidden in qualia roles of math objects.Algorithms were designed for EDG generation and quantity relation extraction for solving algebra story problems.Experimental result shows that the proposedmethod achieved an average accuracy of 82.2%on quantity relation extraction compared to 74.5%of baseline method.Another prompt learning result shows a 5%increase obtained in problem solving by injecting the extracted quantity relations into the baseline neural solvers.

A Corpus-Based Study on the Translators’Styles in the English Versions of The True Story of Ah-Q

The True Story of Ah-Q written by Lu Xun has been translated into forty different languages,making great contributions to the external dissemination of Chinese culture.This paper adopts the corpus stylistics method to analyze the translators’styles presented by William A.Lyell and Julia Lovell’s translations of Ah-Q.Based on the self-built comparable corpus of the two translations,the paper investigates and analyzes them from the lexical and sentence level.In terms of vocabulary,the translations are statistically analyzed from the standardized type-token ratio,word frequency,word length and vocabulary density;at the sentence level,the article studies the average sentence lengths and sentence complexity.The first major finding is that Lovell’s vocabulary is richer than that of Lyell,and Lovell’s average word length is longer.Also,the average sentence length of both translations exceeds the original text,and Lovell has the highest average sentence length.Secondly,Lovell prefers to use simple sentences while Lyell prefers complex sentences.Nevertheless,both of them strive to make Lu Xun’s works understandable to foreign readers,thus understanding Chinese culture better.

共情传播视域下中国体育故事跨文化传播的国际认同建构

中国体育故事存在国际认同不足等困境,如何基于文化陌生感的语境建构中国体育故事跨文化传播的国际认同,是亟待思考的现实议题。该研究以共情传播为理论,指出了中国体育故事中的共情元素、共性历史、共同诉求和共通价值,为跨文化传播中建构国际认同提供了共情可能。并以国际认同的建构为导向,构建了中国体育故事跨文化传播中的共情传播模式,认为承载不同价值观、不同主题的中国体育故事,在相应的跨文化传播场域,能够经由共情传播建构国际认同。基于这一模式提出了中国体育故事跨文化传播中建构国际认同的路径:提炼中国体育故事与世界的共情元素,消解认知偏差;从平民视角和他者视角讲述中国体育故事,强化情感认同;强化中国体育交流故事传播中的聚合效应,以共识促认同。

选择性忽略——关于敦煌法华经变·提婆达多品画面的几个问题

本文对敦煌石窟法华经变·提婆达多品表现释迦于过去世与提婆达多因缘的画面、“海涌菩萨赴法华会”的画面和与“龙女成佛”故事相关的画面中此前不为学界所关注的一些细节表现做了重新识读与定名;同时,通过与日本等海外所藏相关佛经插画的比较,认为二者间在画面表现上有相当大的不同。在此基础上,对敦煌提婆达多品画面特色形成的原因进行了探讨,认为主要根源在于中国佛教信众对于提婆达多角色认知的不一致性相关。

故事产生的生理基础是人脑的发达,而人脑的发展变化是人类劳动的必然结果;故事产生的行为基础是语言的产生,而语言产生的动力是人类信息交流的现实需求;故事产生的思维基础是虚构,虚构的前提是语言的丰富性与思维的形象性,不断的劳动、丰富的语言和形象的思维共同推动了故事的产生与发展。故事的产生完成了人种从动物到人的分化以及人的本质属性的形成,故事的发展促进了人类文化和文明的形成。劳动实践、人脑进化、语言形成、形象思维,是故事起源的内在基础,声音、符号、思维、想象、虚构,是故事发展的历史逻辑。人类通过劳动实现了从动物到人的进化,故事因虚构成为人与动物区别的重要标志。虚构故事的产生,促进了人类更广泛的交流,逐步形成了人最初的群体意识,成为人类共同战胜自然界各种威胁、保种生存、繁衍生息和不断发展的法宝。在故事作用不断得到彰显的历史进程中,故事适应社会生活的变化不断创新,成为推动人类历史的发展进步的重要力量,这就是故事产生和发展且具有永久魅力的秘诀所在。

《今昔物语集》本朝部中的儒家孝养思想

《今昔物语集》是日本古代说话文学中的集大成之作。本朝部中生动地描写了当时社会各阶层的生活,其中也记录了很多孝子、孝女的故事,广为流传。这些故事中蕴含的孝养思想深受中国儒家思想的影响,既强调子女应孝养父母,又要求父母要慈爱子女。可以说,这部说话文学所构建的亲子关系就是“父慈子孝”,同时也说明孝养思想在当时社会颇受重视,具有广泛的共识性。另一方面,《今昔物语集》本朝部中包括“佛教说话”和“世俗说话”两大类型,其宗教性和教训性特点尤为显著。孝养思想也受到了佛教思想的影响,强调孝养得善报、不孝遭恶报的因果报应。在宣扬佛教思想的同时,强调孝养父母的重要性。

增层框架-摇摆墙体系抗震性能研究

目的基于既有建筑的结构无法满足使用需求现状,通过质量调节及变形模式控制实现结构自振周期延长与损伤可控。方法提出增层框架-摇摆墙体系,对该结构进行理论分析,研究增层对整体结构地震效应的影响机理;利用SAP2000平台建立五个有限元模型,基于规范反应谱开展参数敏感性、静力弹塑性和动力弹塑性分析;并在此基础上,提出摇摆墙简化力学模型。结果增层的质量及高度对整体结构地震作用影响显著;与原框架相比,增层后结构基本自振周期最大延长31.7%,最大弹塑性极限位移响应降低11.5%,最大位移角响应降低20.2%,结构变形不均匀性降低22.0%;与框架-摇摆墙相比,增层后摇摆墙弯矩在弹塑性极限状态下降低33.9%。结论合理设置增层框架-摇摆墙可以小幅降低结构整体地震作用,减小结构地震响应,对结构变形模式可实现有效控制;所建立的摇摆墙简化力学模型可合理反应地震作用下墙体弯矩分布,并使设计偏于安全。
