The effect of Mg^2+, AI^3+ and Si^4+, which could be solid solutioned in ZnO grain and the function of Y^3+ ion segregated out in grain boundary were studied as well. Two different morphologies of ZnO(lotus-shaped, rod-shaped) and ZnO/PVDF composite materials were prepared. The morphologies of ZnO and composite materials were characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM). Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR), thermal gravimetry(TG), and X-ray diffraction(XRD) were also used to characterize the chemical structures and phase composites of ZnO and ZnO/PVDF composite materials. Breakdown voltage, dielectric constant and dielectric loss of ZnO/PVDF composite materials were also tested. Microstructure analysis showed that ZnO nanoparticles dispersed uniformly in the matrix. And the dielectric constant expresses a significantly improvement while the dielectric loss and breakdown voltage expresses no significant change. Moreover, dielectric constant keeps an improvement tendency with increasing content of ZnO. 展开更多

ZnO nanoparticles were first encapsulated in submicron PS hollow microspheres through two-step swelling process of core-shell structured PMMA/PS (PMMA: polymethyl methao- rylate) microspheres in acid-alkali solution, and the ZnO precursors, i.e. the ethanol solu- tions of (CHaCOO)2Zn and LiOH. The transmission electron microscope, X-ray diffraction, and thermogravimetric analysis results show that the feeding order of ethanol solutions of (CH3COO)2Zn and LiOH in the second swelling step has great influence on the loading efficiency and the size of ZnO nanoparticles, but little on their crystal form. The photolumi- nescence and UV-Vis absorption behavior of ZnO/PS microspheres show that the PS shell can effectively avoid the fluorescence quenching effect. 展开更多

A novel high-effective sunlight-induced AgBr/ZnO hybrid nanophotocatalyst has been synthesized and it was characterized by different techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry (UV-vis). The AgBr/ZnO hybrid nanophotocatalyst has excellent photocatalytic activity for photodegradation of methyl orange (MO) under sunlight irradiation. The MO degradation efficiency for AgBr/ZnO is about 98% after 1 hour under sunlight irradiation. These results suggested that AgBr/ZnO is a promising candidate for the development of highly efficient sunlight photocatalysts. In addition, the photocatalytic mechanism of AgBr/ZnO under sunlight irradiation is illustrated and discussed. 展开更多

Novel dual-responsive superhydrophobic hybrid materials, ZnO/SAMs (self-assembled monolayers) of ionic liquids (ILs) with different counter-anions (I^-, BF4^-, PF6^- and Tf2N^-), were synthesized and characterized. ZnO nanoparticles were first deposited on glass surfaces to produce roughness. Next, SAMs of fluorinated-alkyl-3-(3-triethoxysilylpropyl)-4,5-dihydro-imidazoliumiodide (abb. [C8Ftespim]I) were grafted onto these surfaces via -Si-O- covalent bonds using self-assembly technique. The I- ion could be subsequently exchanged with BF4, PF6-or Tf2N- through a simple aqueous anion-exchange reaction. The ZnO/ILs hybrid layers were characterized by atomic-force microscopy (AFM), scanning-electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Their wettability was estimated through the measurements of static and dynamic contact angles (CAs). Compared to corresponding films of ZnO/[CsFtespim]I with CAs 140.7° ±2.0°, films of ZnO/[CsFtespim]PF6 and ZnO/[CsFtespim]Tf2N showed CAs with 154.0° ± 2.0° and 152.0° ± 2.0°, respectively that remained for a long time. This result suggests that anion-exchange can afford superhydrophobic materials. In addition, the wettability of ZnO/[CsFtespim]X hybrid layers can be reversibly switched by altering ultraviolet (UV) irradiation and dark storage, which shows a photo-induced reversible switch of wettability. The synergistic action of ZnO nanoparticles and SAMs of ILs produced light-anion dual-responsive superhydrophobic materials with ideal stability. 展开更多

The influence of Pr6O11 on the microstructure of ZnO varistors was researched. The results of experiment indicate that addition of Pr6O11 leads to the change of the formation process of the spinel phase. A lot of pyrochlore phases ( Bi3Zn2Sb3O14 ) produce at about 700℃, and decompose to fine spinel phase (Zn7Sb2O12) when the temperature reaches to 900℃.This type of spinel phase makes ZnO crystal size minor. Also, the phase contained the Pr and different Pr oxides, which makes the whole material crystal size more uniform and compact. The fine structure improves the threshold voltage by about 60%, and modifies nonlinear coefficient of the ZnO material. 展开更多

In doping on the structure, optical an... Indium doped Zn O films were grown on quartz glass substrates by radio frequency magnetron sputtering from powder targets. Indium content in the targets varied from 1at% to 9at%. In doping on the structure, optical and electrical properties of Zn O thin films were studied. X-ray diffraction shows that all the films are hexagonal wurtzite with c-axis perpendicular to the substrates. There is a positive strain in the films and it increases with indium content. All the films show a high transmittance of 86% in the visible light region. Undoped Zn O thin film exhibits a high transmittance in the near infrared region. The transmittance of indium doped Zn O thin films decreases sharply in the near infrared region, and a cut-off wavelength can be found. The lowest resistivity of 4.3×10^(-4) Ω·cm and the highest carrier concentration of 1.86×10^(21) cm^(-3) can be obtained from Zn O thin films with an indium content of 5at% in the target. 展开更多
