Intelligent reflecting surface(IRS)has been widely regarded as a promising technology for configuring wireless propagation environments.In this paper,we utilize IRS to assist transmission of a secondary user(SU)in a cognitive radio-inspired rate-splitting multiple access(CR-RSMA)system in which a primary user's(PU's)quality of service(QoS)requirements must be guaranteed.Without introducing intolerable interference to deteriorate the PU's outage performance,the SU conducts rate-splitting to transmit its signal to the base-station through the direct link and IRS reflecting channels.For the IRS-assisted CR-RSMA(IRS-CR-RSMA)scheme,we derive the optimal transmit power allocation,target rate allocation,and successive interference cancellation decoding order to enhance the outage performance of the SU.The closed-form expression for the SU's outage probability achieved by the IRS-CR-RSMA scheme is derived.Various simulation results are presented to clarify the enhanced outage performance achieved by the proposed IRS-CR-RSMA scheme over the CR-RSMA scheme. 展开更多

Bluetooth is a wireless protocol for exchanging data over short distances. It is an alternative to RS232 data cables. UWB is a radio technology that can be used at very low energy levels for short range. It provides flexible high-bandwidth wireless access. Wi-Fi enables the wireless connection of fast-access devices and mobile devices in Wireless Local Access Network (WLAN) and it is suitable for long distances. The standardizations of the above technologies have been developed and published soon after the emergence of these technologies. This article introduces a Broadband Wireless Multimedia (BWM) access system. It aims to build a new-type "triple play" BWA network by integrating terrestrial digital TV system and the BWA system,and by taking broadband Internet as its core network platform. A primary research shows that the new BWA system is an effective solution to the existing difficulties of BWA system. In this article, the peak to average power ratio (PAPR) performance of 8 quadrature amplitude modulation-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (8QAM-OFDM) optical signals has been researched in broadband optical access system. The complementary cumulative distribution functions (CCDFs) are analyzed of two different 8QAM-OFDMsignals with 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512 sub- carriers by simulation. The simulation results show that, with the increase of the number of subcarrier, the PAPR value becomes higher. When the numbers of subcarrier are16 and 512, the PAPR of 8QAM-OFDM optical signals are smaller than 5.2 dB and 5.3 dB respectively. Hence, the number of sub-carriers should be chosen according to practical application. 展开更多

In this letter, we present the generation, the balanced detection, and the transmission performance evaluation of dual polarization differential quadrature phase shift keying (DP-DQPSK) signals in optical access system integrated with fiber and free-space downlink. Polarization-multip- lexed (POLMUX) technique is introduced in the system for high spectral efficiency access utilization. 10 Gb/s DP-DQPSK downlink signals are successfully transmitted over 50 km SMF-28 and a 800 m wireless optical channel under the bad weather condition, such as fog and haze. The results show that the potentiality of DP-DQPSK optical access system is integrated with fiber and free- space downlink for providing flexible user access with high bandwidth efficiency. 展开更多

The average cyclic times of the slotted multiple access systems are analyzed by using the average cycle method. Analytic formulae for mean values of a successful period and a colliding period and an idle period are derived. Furthermore, we give the simulation models for both uplink and downlink capacity. The results from theoretical analysis and simulation fit very well. The spectral efficiency(SE)and energy efficiency(EE)tradeoff while ensuring rate fairness among users in non-orthogonal multiple access(NOMA)systems is investigated.In order to characterize the SE-EE tradeoff with rate fairness,a multi-objective optimization(MOO)problem is first formulated,where the rate fairness is represented with theα-fair utility function.Then,the MOO problem is converted into a single-objective optimization(SOO)problem by the weighted sum method.To solve the converted non-convex SOO problem,we apply sequential convex programming,which helps to propose a general power allocation algorithm to realize the SE-EE tradeoff with rate fairness.We prove the convergence of the proposed algorithm and the convergent solution satisfies the KKT conditions.Simulation results demonstrate the proposed power allocation algorithm can achieve various levels of rate fairness,and higher fairness results in degraded performance of SE-EE tradeoff.A pivotal conclusion is reached that NOMA systems significantly outperform orthogonal multiple access systems in terms of SE-EE tradeoff with the same level of rate fairness. 展开更多

An important feature of the traffic in mobile networks is burstiness. Drawbacks of conventional power control algorithms for time division duplex (TDD)-code division multiple access (CDMA) systems are analyzed. A joint power control algorithm based on service factor is presented to address the TDD-CDMA mobile services in the burst mode according to the Markov modulated Bernoulli process. The joint power control equation is derived. A function model is developed to verify the new algorithm and evaluate its performance. Simulation results show that the new power control algorithm can estimate interference strength more precisely, speed up convergence of power control, and enhance power efficiency and system capacity. It is shown that the proposed algorithm is more robust against link gain changes, and outperforms the reference algorithms. 展开更多

This paper investigates a unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)deployment problem in a non-orthogonal multiple access(NOMA)system,where the UAV is deployed as an aerial mobile base station to transmit data to two ground users.An optimization problem is formulated by deploying the UAV for maximizing the sum rate of the two users.In order to solve the optimization problem,the feasible solution region is first reduced to a line segment between two users.Then,the optimization problem is simplified to a univariate problem,which can be solved by derivation under a certain situation,and the corresponding analytical solution is also provided.Moreover,a generalized algorithm,which considers 2 situations,is proposed to further determine the optimal UAV’s location.Specifically,four cases are discussed in the first situation.Extensive simulations are depicted to demonstrate effectiveness of the proposed algorithm and its superiority over the benchmarks in maximizing the two users’sum rate. 展开更多

This paper develops a prototype to demonstrate a full-duplex wireless visible light communication (VLC) system based on Universal Serial Bus (USB) port. Combing with a USB 2.0 port on one board, it can achieve up to 2 Mbps bit rates error free, which is mainly limited to the USB bridge circuit, between two computers for data transmission, such as text, audio and video. Hyper Terminal and self-written software are used to allow setting the transmission data rate, control bits, check bits and achieve real-time transmission between any two mobile devices with a USB port. The work is based on the research of VLC local access network. This paper also shows the experimental results and the relationship between system transmission eye diagram and bit rate. 展开更多

A novel scheme which can realize high-speed optical signals transmission and reception by using 4-pulsed amplitude modulation (4-PAM) and demodulation in 10 Gb/s passive optical access systems with different bandwidth optical Bessel filter (OBF) is introduced. In this scheme, a PAM sequence generator module, an M-ary pulse generator module and one Mach-Zehnder intensity Modulator (MZM) are employed for generating the 10 Gb/s optical 4-PAM signals. And then, the generated optical 4-PAM signal achieves transmission over 20 km single mode fiber (SMF) for downstream (DS) access links application. Finally, the optical 4-PAM signal after transmission is directly detected and demodulated. We measure time-domain sequential waveform curves, optical spectrum curves, and eye-diagrams, and analyze the receiver sensitivity of 10 Gb/s 4-PAM signals before and after transmission. The received performance of the optical 4-PAM signals after transmission over 20 km single mode fiber (SMF) with different bandwidth OBF has also been analyzed. 展开更多

Currently,data security and privacy protection are becoming more and more important.Access control is a method of authorization for users through predefined policies.Token-based access control(TBAC)enhances the manageability of authorization through the token.However,traditional access control policies lack the ability to dynamically adjust based on user access behavior.Incorporating user reputation evaluation into access control can provide valuable feedback to enhance system security and flexibility.As a result,this paper proposes a blockchain-empowered TBAC system and introduces a user reputation evaluation module to provide feedback on access control.The TBAC system divides the access control process into three stages:policy upload,token request,and resource request.The user reputation evaluation module evaluates the user’s token reputation and resource reputation for the token request and resource request stages of the TBAC system.The proposed system is implemented using the Hyperledger Fabric blockchain.The TBAC system is evaluated to prove that it has high processing performance.The user reputation evaluation model is proved to be more conservative and sensitive by comparative study with other methods.In addition,the security analysis shows that the TBAC system has a certain anti-attack ability and can maintain stable operation under the Distributed Denial of Service(DDoS)attack environment. 展开更多

Over the past few decades,the Internet has rapidly diffused across China.The spread of the Internet has had a profound economic and social impact on Chinese rural areas.Existing research shows that Internet access significantly impacts agricultural production and improves smallholder farmers’income.Beyond these,the Internet can affect other dimensions of social welfare.However,research about the impact of Internet access on dietary quality in rural China remains scarce.This study utilizes multi-period panel data from Fixed Observation Point in rural China from 2009 to 2015 to estimate the impact of Internet access on dietary quality and food consumption of rural households and conducts a causal analysis.Regression models with time and household fixed effects allow robust estimation while reducing potential issues of unobserved heterogeneity.The estimates show that Internet access has significantly increased rural household dietary quality(measured by the Chinese Diet Balance Index).Further research finds that Internet access has increased the consumption of animal products,such as aquatic and dairy products.We also examine the underlying mechanisms.Internet access improves dietary quality and food consumption mainly through increasing household income and food expenditure.These results encourage the promotion of Internet access as a valuable tool for nutritional improvements,especially in rural areas. 展开更多

In the education archive sharing system,when performing homomorphic ciphertext retrieval on the storage server,there are problems such as low security of shared data,confusing parameter management,and weak access control.This paper proposes an Education Archives Sharing and Access Control(EduASAC)system to solve these problems.The system research goal is to realize the sharing of security parameters,the execution of access control,and the recording of system behaviors based on the blockchain network,ensuring the legitimacy of shared membership and the security of education archives.At the same time,the system can be combined with most homomorphic ciphertext retrieval schemes running on the storage server,making the homomorphic ciphertext retrieval mechanism controllable.This paper focuses on the blockchain access control framework and specifically designs smart contracts that conform to the business logic of the EduASAC system.The former adopts a dual-mode access control mechanism combining Discretionary Access Control(DAC)and Mandatory Access Control(MAC)and improves the tagging mode after user permission verification based on the Authentication and Authorization for Constrained Environments(ACE)authorization framework of Open Authorization(OAuth)2.0;the latter is used in the system to vote on nodes to join requests,define access control policies,execute permission verification processes,store,and share system parameters,and standardize the behavior of member nodes.Finally,the EduASAC system realizes the encryption,storage,retrieval,sharing,and access control processes of education archives.To verify the performance of the system,simulation experiments were conducted.The results show that the EduASAC system can meet the high security needs of education archive sharing and ensure the system’s high throughput,low latency,fast decision-making,and fine-grained access control ability. 展开更多
