[Objective] The aim was to explore the achievement motivation of the university student village officials in the suburbs of Beijing.[Method] The research made an investigation on 429 university student village officia...[Objective] The aim was to explore the achievement motivation of the university student village officials in the suburbs of Beijing.[Method] The research made an investigation on 429 university student village officials in the suburbs of Beijing by the Achievements Motive Scale(AMS).[Result] The achievement motivation of these student village officials was not on a high level,but they tended to pursue the success motivation rather than the motivation to avoid failures obviously.There was a significant difference in the achievement motivation between different genders,majors and jobs.The males' motivation for success was higher than the females'.The motivation of avoiding failures among officials in Humanities was higher than in Science and in Fine Art.And the university student village officials in professional and technical posts or in business posts rated the motivation to avoid failures more important than in basic management posts.But achievement motivations in different urban-rural areas,educational levels,political backgrounds,whether student leaders or not,and durations were no definite differences.Besides,it had a significant effect on these student village officials' achievement motivation whether advices and suggestions were accepted;if yes,the motivation was higher.[Conclusion] This study had provided stability and development for building rural talent groups.展开更多
capacity and creativity tendencies among Chinese baccalaureate nursing students.Design:Cross-sectional study design.Methods:A convenient sample of 445 baccalaureate nursing students were surveyed in two universities i...capacity and creativity tendencies among Chinese baccalaureate nursing students.Design:Cross-sectional study design.Methods:A convenient sample of 445 baccalaureate nursing students were surveyed in two universities in Tianjin,China.Students completed a questionnaire that included their demographic information,Achievement Motivation Scale,Meta-Learning Capacity Questionnaire,and Creativity Tendencies Scale.Pearson correlation was performed to test the correlation among achievement motivation,meta-learning capacity and creativity tendencies.Hierarchical linear regression analyses were performed to explore the mediating role of meta-learning capacity.Results:The participants had moderate levels of achievement motivation(mean score 2.383±0.240)and meta-learning capacity(mean score 1.505±0.241)and a medium-high level of creativity tendency(mean score 1.841±0.288).Creativity tendencies was significantly associated with both achievement motivation and meta-learning capacity(both P<0.01).Furthermore,meta-learning capacity mediated the relationship between achievement motivation and high creativity tendencies.Conclusion:The study hypotheses were supported.Higher achievement motivation,and meta-learning capacity can increase creativity tendencies of baccalaureate nursing students,and meta-learning capacity was found to mediate the relationship between achievement motivation and creativity tendencies.Nursing educators should pay attention to the positive role of meta-learning capacity in nursing students’learning,and make them more confident when they finish their studies.展开更多

Results: The mean general self-efficacy scores of the student nurses were low. There was a significantly positive relationship between self-efficacy and achievement motivation ( r = 0. 432, P = 0. 000). Conclusions: Our findings suggested that self-efficacy was related to age and educational levels, rather than gender and place of residence. Nursing managers should take measures to develop the self-efficacy of student nurses; when self-efficacy is developed, the achievement motivation may then be improved. Given the importance of career adaptability to personal career and success,there is growing interest in how to cultivate youth's career adaptability in schools.This study explores the predictors of career adaptabi...Given the importance of career adaptability to personal career and success,there is growing interest in how to cultivate youth's career adaptability in schools.This study explores the predictors of career adaptability and examines the mediating role of academic performance in the relationship between achievement motivation and career adaptability.Using the survey data of 147 Chinese high school students,a series of regression models find that academic motivation and academic performance have significant effects on career adaptability,as well as its four dimensions namely career concern,career control,career curiosity,and career confidence.Structural equation modeling further shows that achievement motivation can not only directly affect career adaptability,but also indirectly affect career adaptability through academic performance after controlling for the effects of gender,location,parent education,and family social and economic status.Research limitations and practical implications are finally discussed.展开更多

Using the quantitative methodology, a total of 320 heads of instructional departments were randomly selected from randomly selected schools. The results revealed that a transformational leadership style was prevalent among principals, and teachers' achievement motivation was positive. There was a positive correlation between the principals' transformational leadership style and the teachers' achievement motivation. Relevant recommendations are included.展开更多

In addition,the intercorrelations amongst the 2 × 2 goals were also examined.Methods: A systematic review of the literature was conducted. Meta-analytic procedures were used with the mean weighted sample correlation(rw) as the effect size metric. The antecedents were coded by Elliot's(1999) antecedent categories. A number of moderators were coded a priori.Results: Based on a fixed effects model from 47 published studies(total unique n = 15,413) that met inclusion criteria, the 2 × 2 achievement goals were significantly correlated amongst each other ranging from small to medium to large in meaningfulness. Concerning the antecedents, overall they were theoretically correct in associations, but only a few of the relationships were medium in meaningfulness. Most relationships were small in meaningfulness.
