NMR Studies of 3-Acylcamphor

NMR studies of some chiral 3-acyclcamphor were Conducted. A complete assignment was given to 3-(4-pyridyl)carbonylcamphor by the 2D NMR technology. Assignments were also given to other beta-diketones. The results showed that those 3-acylcamphors exist in the enol forms: while: 7-benzoyl menthone exists in diketon form.

Synthesis of Chiral 3-Acylcamphors

3-Acylcamphors were synthesized in moderate yields by the condensation of camphor with esters using sodium hydride as a base.
