Face Recognition Based on Adaptive Sparse Coefficient

Recently,robust sparse coding achieves high recognition rates on face recognition( FR),even when dealing with occluded images. However,robust sparse coding is that the coefficients are guaranteed global sparse when solving the sparse coefficients. In this paper,the coefficient vector is divided into multiple regions. Then,the elements in the object region are enabled to approximate global maximum by adding two constraint conditions( the maximal element of coefficient vector is in the object region; the sum of elements in the object region is the maximum value among all regions),which makes the distribution of sparse coefficient adapt to different classes of testing images. The efficacy of the proposed approach is verified on publicly available databases( i. e.,AR and Extended Yale B).Furthermore, the proposed method still can achieve a good performance when the training samples are limited. 展开更多

At the beginning of adaptation the algorithmjust uses its current coefficient vector to update the adaptive filter to maintain fast convergence rate,while in steady state it employs several most recent coefficient vectors to update the adaptive filter to reduce misalignment. Simulation results showthat the proposed algorithmcan obtain both fast convergence rate and small steady-state misalignment. 展开更多

The upper reach of the Yellow River from Daliushu to Shapotou consists of five bends and has complex topography. A two-dimensional Re-Normalisation Group (RNG) k-ε model was developed to simulate the flow in the reach. In order to take the circulation currents in the bends into account, the momentum equations were improved by adding an additional source term. Comparison of the numerical simulation with field measurements indicates that the improved two-dimensional depth-averaged RNG k-e model can improve the accuracy of the numerical simulation. A rapid adaptive algorithm was constructed, which can automatically adjust Manning's roughness coefficient in different parts of the study river reach. As a result, not only can the trial computation time be significantly shortened, but the accuracy of the numerical simulation can also be greatly improved. Comparison of the simulated and measured water surface slopes for four typical cases shows that the longitudinal and transverse slopes of the water surface increase with the average velocity upstream. In addition, comparison was made between the positions of the talweg and the main streamline, which coincide for most of the study river reach. However, deviations between the positions of the talweg and the main streamline were found at the junction of two bends, at the position where the river width suddenly decreases or increases. 展开更多

Therefore, it is important to optimize the structure, especially in ambiguous and quick-tempo modern warfare. This paper proposes an adaptive evolvement mechanism for the C^4ISR structure to survive the changeable warfare. Firstly, the information age C^4ISR structure is defined and modeled based on the complex network theory. Secondly, taking the observe, orient, decide and act (OODA) model into consideration, four kinds of loops in the C^4ISR structure are pro- posed and their coefficient of networked effects (CNE) is further defined. Then, the adaptive evolvement mechanisms of the four kinds of loops are presented respectively. Finally, taking the joint air-defense C^4ISR as an example, simulation experiments are im- plemented, which validate the evolvement mechanism and show that the information age C41SR structure has some characteristics of small-world network and scale-free network. 展开更多

Aluminum alloys are typical nonlinear materials, and consequently bending members made of this material exhibit a nonlinear behavior. Most design codes do not pay much attention to such deformations and adopt a simple linear analysis for the calculation of deflections. This paper presents an investigation of the nonlinear deformation of aluminum bending members using the finite-element analysis (FEA). The plastic adaptation coefficient, which can be used to limit the residual deflection, is introduced, and the influence of residual deflection is investigated. A method for evaluating the plastic adoption coefficient is proposed. This paper also shows the load-deflection curve of aluminum bending members and the influence of several parameters. A semi-empirical formula is derived, and some numerical examples are given by FEA. The coefficients of the semi-empirical formula are modified by the FEA results using the nonlinear fitting method. Based on these results, two improved design methods for strength and deformation of aluminum bending members are proposed. Through the comparison with test data, these methods are proved to be suitable for structural design. 展开更多
