Adhesive layer is an essential part of tooth colored restorations which play an important role in decreasing the microleakage between the tooth and restoration material after polymerization shrinkage. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of deferent adhesive system of bonding agent on microleakage of nanocomposite resin in class II cavities. Two different types of adhesive systems: universal adhesive (ExciTE) and a newly developed adhesive (Nano-Bond) and one type of light-cured resin restorative material (nanocomposite resin) were used in this study. These adhesives were applied to prepared tooth cavities by either manufactures’ instructions or by an experimental method (single or double application). Nanocomposite resin was then placed and light-cured for 40 seconds. Teeth were subjected to 500 thermal cycles between 5&degC and 55&degC and were immersed in 3% methylene blue solution for 24 hours;microleakage was observed microscopically. The data were analyzed by a two-way ANOVA. For comparison between groups, Tukey’s post-hoc test was used. Nanoparticles reinforced adhesive system shows low microleakage in compare with universal adhesive system, and application of two adhesive layers also can decrease the microleakage. The ability of stress absorption by adhesive layer after polymerization shrinkage of restoration material will reduce the microleakage. 展开更多

This paper studies the interface curing stresses between polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) and composite by means of digital speckle correlation method (DSCM).A new method by combining DSCM with the marker points is developed to measure the interface curing stresses, and the measurement principle is introduced. The interface curing stresses between PMMA and composite with different curing bonding conditions are measured and analyzed, this indicates that the residual stress for furnace heating and furnace cooling is the smallest. Finally, the measurement error is discussed by means of finite element method, the influences of glass microsphere between adhesive and PMMA can be ignored. 展开更多

In order to improve the adhesion of the middle frequency magnetic sputtered zirconium coating on a polyurethane film,an anode layer source was used to pretreat the polyurethane film with nitrogen and oxygen ions.SEMs and AFM roughness profiles of treated samples and the contrast groups were obtained.Besides,XPS survey spectrums and high resolution spectrums were also investigated. The adhesion test revealed that ion bombardment could improve the adhesion to the polyurethane coating substrate.A better etching result of oxygen ions versus nitrogen predicts a higher bonding strength of zirconium coating on polyurethane and, indeed, the highest bonding strengths are for oxygen ion bombardment upto 13.3 MPa.As demonstrated in X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, the oxygen ion also helps to introduce more active groups, and, therefore,it achieves a high value of adhesion strength. 展开更多

In petroleum development,low-permeability reservoir means having permeability of porous media lower than 50 micro-Darcy.The mathematical model of liquid flow in low-permeability reservoirs has been difficult to describe for a long time, and an ideal model has not been available until now because of the threshold pressure gradient. With the boundary adhesion layer model of a micro-channel as basis,a new liquid flow model was derived for low-permeability reservoirs in this study. The no-movement liquid layer close to the solid surface was defined as the boundary adhesion layer regarded as the negative slip length.Using the exponential function of the boundary stick layer to the pressure drop gradient, the formulae of the liquid velocity and flow rate of a round channel were derived. The liquid flows model in low permeability reservoirs was then obtained. Finally, the flow model was tested by examples, and applications to a low-permeability reservoir were demonstrated. The analysis results show that the new non-linear model of liquid flows exhibits clear physical definition, and can be easily used to describe liquid flows in low-permeability media. 展开更多

Ultrafine particles are dangerous to human health and are usually difficult to separate from airflow because of their low inertia, which helps them to stick easily to surfaces because of adhesive forces. This characteristic provides opportunities for adhesive ultrafine particle separation by designing air-cleaning devices that exploit the sticking ability. To understand governing effects in such air-cleaning devices, which can be designed as multi-channel cyclones, the sticking of adhesive spherical glass particles under oblique impact has been investigated numerically by using the discrete element method. An adhesive dissipative contact model was applied by implementing different interaction forces for various-sized ultraflne pollutant particles. Normal loading is represented by the elastic Hertz contact model, whereas viscous damping is described by the modified nonlinear Tsuji model. The influence of deformation- dependent adhesive forces for a range of ultrafine particle sizes is illustrated during the sticking process. Dissipative oscillations during the sticking process were observed because of the influence of viscous damping forces. 展开更多
