Used Stratified Random Sampling and data was collected from both primary and secondary data (both quantitative and qualitative data. The data analyzed used qualitative and quantitative analysis. The supply chain analysis was carried out to develop a description of the value chain to identify potential high-value market areas and current and potential products in the domestic and export markets. The results of the study revealed that most farmers in the research location grow different types of crops and livestock. In particular for Aileu and Ainaro where most of the areas are up-land, therefore, horticulture crops (mustard, cabbage, carrots, and tomato) and coffee are dominated in these areas. For Manufahi, some parts are lowland areas, where most crops grown are maize, cassava, and paddy rice. The study reveals that local potential agriculture products and livestock in the municipalities of Aileu, Ainaro, and Manufahi are vegetable, coffee, maize, and paddy rice, banana, shallot, tangerine, cabbage, carrot, cattle, mung-bean, and banana. To accelerate economic growth, in these municipalities, there is a need to modernize agricultural production, requiring markets for both inputs supply and for the sale of output products. Opportunities to increase the productivity of these products are feasible and this can be done through the use of high-variety seeds and better farm management, and the government and private sector can play an important role in improving productivity as this will have a further implication in improving food security.展开更多

In recent years, the attention to the investment in agricultural capital construction has been lifted to a strategic height. However, there is still little research on the investment in agricultural capital construction. From the perspective of investment of different ministries and commissions, this paper systematically analyzed current situations, problems, and came up with recommendations for the investment in the agricultural capital construction. According to the results,( i) from 1983 to the present,China's investment in agricultural capital construction experienced three stages. Especially after 2010,the scale of investment in agricultural capital construction was huge, and it showed a rapid increasing trend;( ii) the investment in agricultural capital construction is characterized by " multi-sector investment, different departments having different investment priorities and investment scale in different periods";( iii) some investment projects are overlapping between departments, local areas are weak in providing support funds, project construction standard is single, and there are problems of attaching importance to the application, belittling the management, stressing the construction, belittling the maintenance, and serious brain drain;( iv) different departments have accumulated certain experience in long-term exploration. For example, they pay more attention to the refinement and differentiation of projects, focus on the development of targeted poverty alleviation, pay more attention to the " quality" of investment, and pay more attention to the transformation of agricultural production methods. Based on current situations and problems,it came up with recommendations including promoting the integration of funds for investment and project integration, strengthening the personnel cultivation, ensuring simultaneous construction and management of projects, stressing the maintenance after project construction, exploring new modes for project design, management, investment, and financing, and enhancing the support for special investment projects.展开更多

In this paper, using China's A-share agricultural listed companies from 2010 to 2015 as research samples,we discuss the influence of government subsidies on research and development( hereinafter referred to as R & D) investment, and the difference in the relationships between the two from the perspective of different nature of property rights. The results show that,on the whole, the increase in government subsidies does not promote the intensity of R & D investment of agricultural listed companies. And after distinguishing the nature of property rights, the results show that state-owned enterprises can get more government subsidies than private enterprises, and the increase in government subsidies boosts the increase in R & D investment in private enterprises, but there is a negative correlation between government subsidies and R & D investment of state-owned enterprises. This conclusion can broaden the research perspective of the influence factors of corporate R & D investment, and it is of practical significance to further clarify the role of government subsidies in R & D investment decisions of enterprises with different nature of property rights.展开更多

The paper presents the significance of agriculture in these 5 African economies in its ability to provide job opportunities and sustenance. A large portion of the African population in their different countries resides in rural areas and is fully dependent on agriculture for food and income. Subsequently, the development of many developing economies relies heavily on agriculture, the sector is the highest employer in the region with 60 percent of the total labor force being employed in agriculture and agriculture-related sectors such as manufacturing. The success of the sector means that people will have sufficient food, jobs will be created, and standards of living will be improved. The different projects implemented by local governments in the 5 countries and by the development partners have attained plausible results in providing job opportunities, increasing yield, providing food security, and creating a market for small-holder farmers. Despite these remarkable achievements, the agriculture sector in Africa as a whole is faced with many challenges that hinder its success, such as lack of funding, lack of infrastructure, limited land for farming, and climate change. To overcome these challenges and enable the sector to transform, bold policies need to be implemented. This study recommends that African countries create favorable business environments to attract investment, encourage youth participation in agricultural activities, and employ modern farming practices to increase agricultural productivity.展开更多

Foreign economic and political sanctions have a growing negative impact. It is very important for the agriculture industry to be supported by the Russian state budget and to have administrative support, the institutional structure of the state, quantitative and qualitative indicators of national support: federal, regional, and municipal.
