Methods The alarm system was composed of hardware and software. The hardware was composed of a master master computer and slave transmitters. On urgent ugent occasion, one or more of the transmitters transmitted alarm signals and the master computer received the signals; interruption, residence, graph and word processing were utilized in software to achieve multitiask data processing . Results The main computer can conduct precise and quick multitask data procesing in any condition so long as alarm signals are received. The processing speed is higher than ordinary alarm System. Conclusion The master computer can conduct safe and quick multitask data processing by way of reliable design of software and hardware , so there is no need of special processor.展开更多

This study aims to develop a system that is able to identify whether or not the people need help in a public place. Different from previous work, our work considers not only the behaviors of the target person but also the interaction between him and nearby people. In the paper, we propose an event alarm system which can detect the human behaviors and recognize the happening event through integrating the results generated from the single and group behavior analysis. Several new effective features are proposed in the study. Besides, a mechanism capable of extracting one-to-one and multiple-to-one relations is also developed. Experimental results show that the proposed approach can correctly detect human behaviors and provide the alarm messages when emergency events occur.展开更多

Photovoltaic (PV) systems have attracted increasing attention in last years as well as Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), which have been used in many application fields. In PV plants, especially in ground installations...Photovoltaic (PV) systems have attracted increasing attention in last years as well as Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), which have been used in many application fields. In PV plants, especially in ground installations, a lot of thefts and damages occur due to the still high cost of the modules. A new experimental WSN ad-hoc has been designed to be an anti-theft alarm system. Each node of the network is directly installed under each PV string and it is equipped with an accelerometer sensor capable to detect a minimum displacement of the panel from its steady position. The WSN presents a star topology: a master node cyclically interrogates the slave nodes through RF link. It collects all the nodes responses and communicates though a RS-232 interface with a control PC checking the network status. When a slave node detects an alarm, continuous messages are sent to the control PC which turns on all the alarm signaling systems. The control PC is equipped with an open source operative system and software and provides for SMS, e-mail and sound-light signaling in case of alarm. It also communicates with a remote server where all the WSN information is stored. A first low cost experimental WSN has been already installed and it is working properly.展开更多

The aim of the system designed is to alert the distant property-owner efficiently and quickly by sending short message (SMS) via GSM network. A Linear integrated temperature sensor detects temperature beyond preset value whereas semiconductor type sensor detects presence of smoke or gas from fire hazards. The sensor units are connected via common data line to ATMega8L AVR microcontroller. A SIM300CZ GSM kit based network module, capable of operating in standard GSM bands, has been used to send alert messages. The system is implemented on printed circuit board (PCB) and tested under different experimental conditions to evaluate its performances.展开更多

Alarm systems constitute an indispensable component of automation as they draw the attention of process operators to any abnormal conditi on in the plant. Therefore, if deployed properly, alarm systems can play a critical role in helping plant operators ensure process safety and profitability. How-ever, in practice, many process plants suffer from poor alarm system configuration which leads to nuisance alarms and alarm floods that compromise safety. A vast amount of research has primarily focused on developing sophisticated alarm management algorithms to address specific issues. In this article, we provide a simple, practical, systematic approach that can be applied by plant engineers (i.e., non-experts) to improve industrial alarm system performance. In the paper,the experience of contradictions and conflicts as a normal feature of social change and evolutionary trends,is discussed.Contradictions normally destabilize a system,causing dilemmas and conflicts.However...In the paper,the experience of contradictions and conflicts as a normal feature of social change and evolutionary trends,is discussed.Contradictions normally destabilize a system,causing dilemmas and conflicts.However,the paper warns against thinking of destabilization as dysfunctional,as complex systems require a high degree of instability to deal with changes in the environment.Dealing with instabilities requires systems,which can produce alarms that signal a need to regain additional options for development and introduce them into the planning process.The paper introduces the concept of a place alarm system,which uses visions and utopias in various forms for alarm purposes.To illustrate this kind of thinking,the paper first presents a model of an alarm system,which demonstrates how we can deal with contradictions by including the temporal dimension in our analyses of place systems and bring broader temporal horizons into consideration.As an example,contradictions increase when we consider the future from the perspective of the present;the present future multiplies contradictions.On the other hand,viewing the present from the future(future present),creates possibilities for goal-directed planning to avoid the problems,which have produced alarm signals.As the paper demonstrates,these two possibilities of what may be called reflexive and utopian temporal modalizations,are not given as alternatives,but mutually imply each other.The paper then presents two case illustrations,which demonstrate how to deal with conflict and contradictions to facilitate collective and goal-directed planning,using the alarm system framework.In both cases,we are witnessing place planning processes,which lack the necessary requisite variety(Ashby,1956)to deal effectively with the environmental complexity and internal conflicts facing the local communities.As indicated in the analyses,the present planning regimes do not promote variety and vitality regarding current place developments.展开更多

A fire alarm system(FAS)is a system comprising signalling-alarm devices,which automatically detect and transmit information about fire,but also receivers of fire alarms and receivers for damage signals.Fire alarm syst...A fire alarm system(FAS)is a system comprising signalling-alarm devices,which automatically detect and transmit information about fire,but also receivers of fire alarms and receivers for damage signals.Fire alarm systems function in different environmental conditions.During operation they should be in state of fitness.This is determined by the reliability of the assembled units and rational management of the operation process.Therefore a reliability and operational analysis of fire alarm systems as a whole is essential.This article presents an authorial model and an operational and reliability analysis of FAS,which is exploited in a transport building.It also demonstrates relationships occurring in the analysed system,where to an addressable fire alarm central unit with detection loops and control-monitoring loops alarm device lines(with monitored relay outputs for actuation of alarm-signalling devices)were connected.Research and analysis of results for representative FAS,which were exploited in similar environmental conditions,were conducted in order to determine operational and reliability parameters of the investigated system.FAS computer simulation was run during the time t=1 year of safety system operation.This led to the calculation of the probability value of the analysed FAS staying in the examined operational states.展开更多

This research explores the development of optimized probabilistic graphic models for the discretization thresholds of alarm system predictor variables. The study presents a statistical model framework that increases the efficacy of fire detection by predicting the discretization thresholds of alarm system predictor variable fluctuations used to detect the onset of fire. The work applies the Bayesian networks and probabilistic visual models to reveal the specific characteristics required to cope with fire detection strategies and patterns. The adopted methodology utilizes a combination of prior knowledge and statistical data to draw conclusions from observations. Utilizing domain knowledge to compute conditional dependencies between network variables enabled predictions to be made through the application of specialized analytical and simulation techniques.展开更多

Alarm root-cause analysis and alarm prioritization are good for alarm flood reduction. This paper proposes a systematic rationalization method for multivariate correlated alarms to realize the root cause analysis and alarm prioritization. An information fusion based interpretive structural model is constructed according to the data-driven partial correlation coefficient calculation and process knowledge modification. This hierarchical multi-layer model is helpful in abnormality propagation path identification and root-cause analysis. Revised Likert scale method is adopted to determine the alarm priority and reduce the blindness of alarm handling. As a case study, the Tennessee Eastman process is utilized to show the effectiveness and validity of proposed approach. Alarm system performance comparison shows that our rationalization methodology can reduce the alarm flood to some extent and improve the performance.展开更多

In our system, an ECG device collects the ECG signal and transmits it to an Android phone. The Android phone detects alarms which come from the ECG devices. When alarms occur, Android phone will capture the ECG images and the details about the alarms, and sends them to the cloud Alarm Server (AS). Once received, AS push the messages to doctors’ phone, so the doctors could see the ECG images and alarm details on their mobile phone. In our system, high resolution ECG pictures are transmitted to doctors’ phone in a user-friendly way, which can help doctors keep track of their patient’s condition easily.展开更多

文摘This paper proposes a novel bidirect i o nal anti-theft alarm scheme through detecting the magnetic field.The theoretical background and analysis of the approach of anti-theft alarm are pre sented.The circuit of burglar alarm is designed,fabricated and tested,and C language program is implemented and debugged.Feasibility of the de veloped scheme is proved by the experiments.
文摘In the paper,the experience of contradictions and conflicts as a normal feature of social change and evolutionary trends,is discussed.Contradictions normally destabilize a system,causing dilemmas and conflicts.However,the paper warns against thinking of destabilization as dysfunctional,as complex systems require a high degree of instability to deal with changes in the environment.Dealing with instabilities requires systems,which can produce alarms that signal a need to regain additional options for development and introduce them into the planning process.The paper introduces the concept of a place alarm system,which uses visions and utopias in various forms for alarm purposes.To illustrate this kind of thinking,the paper first presents a model of an alarm system,which demonstrates how we can deal with contradictions by including the temporal dimension in our analyses of place systems and bring broader temporal horizons into consideration.As an example,contradictions increase when we consider the future from the perspective of the present;the present future multiplies contradictions.On the other hand,viewing the present from the future(future present),creates possibilities for goal-directed planning to avoid the problems,which have produced alarm signals.As the paper demonstrates,these two possibilities of what may be called reflexive and utopian temporal modalizations,are not given as alternatives,but mutually imply each other.The paper then presents two case illustrations,which demonstrate how to deal with conflict and contradictions to facilitate collective and goal-directed planning,using the alarm system framework.In both cases,we are witnessing place planning processes,which lack the necessary requisite variety(Ashby,1956)to deal effectively with the environmental complexity and internal conflicts facing the local communities.As indicated in the analyses,the present planning regimes do not promote variety and vitality regarding current place developments.
文摘As one of the most important facilities, The CSR power cables played a major role in powering device. Thecable temperature continued to rise as soon as it's energized with electrical power. High temperature may be caughta cable fire disaster, so the temperature alarm system is presented. The temperature alarm system for CSR PowerCables is designed and realized by the slow control group and the power supply group in IMP 2014. This is a effective means, and can accurately located the target cables.When the target cable temperature is higher than70?, the system can generate alarm signals, and sendthem to the GUI software. After practical running forseveral months, the system had shown its accuracy andreliability.

文摘A fire alarm system(FAS)is a system comprising signalling-alarm devices,which automatically detect and transmit information about fire,but also receivers of fire alarms and receivers for damage signals.Fire alarm systems function in different environmental conditions.During operation they should be in state of fitness.This is determined by the reliability of the assembled units and rational management of the operation process.Therefore a reliability and operational analysis of fire alarm systems as a whole is essential.This article presents an authorial model and an operational and reliability analysis of FAS,which is exploited in a transport building.It also demonstrates relationships occurring in the analysed system,where to an addressable fire alarm central unit with detection loops and control-monitoring loops alarm device lines(with monitored relay outputs for actuation of alarm-signalling devices)were connected.Research and analysis of results for representative FAS,which were exploited in similar environmental conditions,were conducted in order to determine operational and reliability parameters of the investigated system.FAS computer simulation was run during the time t=1 year of safety system operation.This led to the calculation of the probability value of the analysed FAS staying in the examined operational states.
文摘Sensors for fire alarms require a high level of predictive variables to ensure accurate detection, injury prevention, and loss prevention. Bayesian networks can aid in enhancing early fire detection capabilities and reducing the frequency of erroneous fire alerts, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of numerous safety monitoring systems. This research explores the development of optimized probabilistic graphic models for the discretization thresholds of alarm system predictor variables. The study presents a statistical model framework that increases the efficacy of fire detection by predicting the discretization thresholds of alarm system predictor variable fluctuations used to detect the onset of fire. The work applies the Bayesian networks and probabilistic visual models to reveal the specific characteristics required to cope with fire detection strategies and patterns. The adopted methodology utilizes a combination of prior knowledge and statistical data to draw conclusions from observations. Utilizing domain knowledge to compute conditional dependencies between network variables enabled predictions to be made through the application of specialized analytical and simulation techniques.

文摘Alarm flood is one of the main problems in the alarm systems of industrial process. Alarm root-cause analysis and alarm prioritization are good for alarm flood reduction. This paper proposes a systematic rationalization method for multivariate correlated alarms to realize the root cause analysis and alarm prioritization. An information fusion based interpretive structural model is constructed according to the data-driven partial correlation coefficient calculation and process knowledge modification. This hierarchical multi-layer model is helpful in abnormality propagation path identification and root-cause analysis. Revised Likert scale method is adopted to determine the alarm priority and reduce the blindness of alarm handling. As a case study, the Tennessee Eastman process is utilized to show the effectiveness and validity of proposed approach. Alarm system performance comparison shows that our rationalization methodology can reduce the alarm flood to some extent and improve the performance.
文摘ECG monitoring in daily life is an important means of treating heart disease. To make it easier for the medical to monitor the ECG of their patients outside the hospital, we designed and developed an ECG monitoring and alarming system based on Android smart phone. In our system, an ECG device collects the ECG signal and transmits it to an Android phone. The Android phone detects alarms which come from the ECG devices. When alarms occur, Android phone will capture the ECG images and the details about the alarms, and sends them to the cloud Alarm Server (AS). Once received, AS push the messages to doctors’ phone, so the doctors could see the ECG images and alarm details on their mobile phone. In our system, high resolution ECG pictures are transmitted to doctors’ phone in a user-friendly way, which can help doctors keep track of their patient’s condition easily.
