The abrasive wear be- havior and interface diffusion behavior of the composite coatings were evaluated by dry/wet rubber wheel abrasive wear tests and heat treat- ment, respectively. Experimental results indicate that the composite coatings exhibit features of adhesive wear. Besides, the Vickers micro- hardness of NiA1 and Ni3AI intermetallic compounds is relatively larger than that of the substrate, which is beneficial for enhancing the wear resistance. With the increase of annealing temperature and time, the interface diffusion area between the Ni-Al coating and the substrate gradually expands with the formation of NiAl3 and Ni2Al3 phases, and is controlled by diffusion of aluminum atoms. The grain growth ex- ponent n of diffusion kinetics of the Ni-Al coating, calculated via a high-temperature diffusion model at 400, 480, and 550℃, is between 0.28 and 0.38. The surface morphology, element distribution and interface structure of composite coatings were studied by means of XRD, SEM and EDS. The results show that the composite coatings obtained through HDA/MPO on A3 steel consist of four layers. From the surface to the substrate, the layer is loose Al2O3 ceramic, compact Al2O3 ceramic, Al and FeAl intermetallic compound layer in turn. The adhesions among all the layers are strengthened because the ceramic layer formed at the Al surface originally, FeAl intermetallic compound layer and substrate are combined in metallurgical form through mutual diffusion during HDA process.Initial experiment results disclose that the anti-corrosion performance and wear resistance of composite coating are obviously improved through HDA/MPO treatment.展开更多

The microstructures of Ni-5wt%Al powder and Ni-20wt%Al powder were characterized by scanning electronic microscopy(SEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS). The results showed that the obtained particle size ranged from 5 to 50 μm. The morphology of the Ni–Al powder showed that molten particles were composed of Ni solid solution, NiAl, Ni_3Al, Al_2O_3, and NiO. The Ni–Al phase and a small amount of Al_2O_3 particles changed the composition of the coating. The microstructures of the twin-wire-arc-sprayed Ni–Al composite coatings were characterized by SEM, EDS, X-ray diffraction(XRD), and transmission electron microscopy(TEM). The results showed that the main phase of the Ni-5wt%Al coating consisted of Ni solid solution and Ni Al in addition to a small amount of Al_2O_3. The main phase of the Ni-20wt%Al coating mainly consisted of Ni solid solution, Ni Al, and Ni_3Al in addition to a small amount of Al and Al_2O_3, and Ni Al and Ni_3Al intermetallic compounds effectively further improved the final wear property of the coatings. TEM analysis indicated that fine spherical NiAl_3 precipitates and a Ni–Al–O amorphous phase formed in the matrix of the Ni solid solution in the original state.展开更多

The corrosion behavior of SZAC in 3.5%NaCl solution was studied by means of SEM, EDS, EIS and so on. Results indicate that aluminum corroded in advance of zinc to produce speculate or spherical substances, which attaches to SZAC and adds mass to it. Corrosion production passivates metal powders in SZAC, causes E corr of SZAC to increase gradually, and causes the arising of the third time constant in EIS, which corresponds to the insulation of corrosion production.展开更多

In order to enhance the combination between magnesium alloy matrix and zinc and aluminum coating, the sample was heat-treated at 300℃for 2 h, then, the cross-section patterns, XRD pattern, micro-hardness, wear and corrosion resistance abilities were researched. The mechanical properties and microstructures of the composites were investigated. The results showed that the elastic modulus of the as-cast composites increased straightly with increasing ZnO coating content. The ultimate tensile strength and yield strength of the as-cast composites rapidly increased initially and then declined with increasing ZnO coating content. However, the elongations of all the as-cast composites had similar values. The elongations of the composites were highly enhanced and the ultimate tensile strength of the composite without ZnO coating was the largest after extrusion. A number of whiskers in the composites with ZnO coating were fractured during the extrusion process, but the whiskers' breakage extent was limited with the increase of coating content.展开更多

The adhesions among all the layers are strengthened because the ceramic layer formed at the Al surface originally, FeAl intermetallic compound layer and substrate are combined in metallurgical form through mutual diffusion during HDA process.Initial experiment results disclose that the anti-corrosion performance and wear resistance of composite coating are obviously improved through HDA/MPO treatment.

文摘The liquid-phase coating method was used to deposit Y2O3 ceramic on the surface of α-Al2O3. The coated-Al2O3p/6061AI composites were produced using squeeze casting technology. The microstructure and tensile properties of the composites were analysed and studied. The results showed that the coated AI2O3 particles are able to disperse homogeneously in the aluminum liquid. The microstructure of the composites is more even in comparison with that of as-received powders. The tensile testing indicated that mechanical properties of the coated-AI2O3p/6061AI composites are better than those of uncoated particles. In the composite with 30% volume fraction, the tensile strength, yield strength as well as elongation is increased by 29.8%, 38.4% and 10.3%, respectively. The SEM analysis of fracture indicated that the dimples of the coated-Al2O3p/6061Al composites are more even.

文摘Ni–Al powder and Ni–Al composite coatings were fabricated by twin-wire arc spraying(TWAS). TEM analysis indicated that fine spherical NiAl_3 precipitates and a Ni–Al–O amorphous phase formed in the matrix of the Ni solid solution in the original state.
文摘Sintered zinc aluminum coating (SZAC) was prepared using zinc flakes, aluminum flakes and CrO 3 as main raw materials. The corrosion behavior of SZAC in 3.5%NaCl solution was studied by means of SEM, EDS, EIS and so on. Results indicate that aluminum corroded in advance of zinc to produce speculate or spherical substances, which attaches to SZAC and adds mass to it. Corrosion production passivates metal powders in SZAC, causes E corr of SZAC to increase gradually, and causes the arising of the third time constant in EIS, which corresponds to the insulation of corrosion production.
文摘Copper coating was deposited on the surface of aluminum borate whisker(denoted by Al18B4O33w) by an electroless plating method. The result of X-ray diffraction(XRD) of whisker sintered at 850 ℃ indicates that CuO peaks can be found clearly. This method was used to modify the interface properties of the Al18B4O33w reinforced 6061Al matrix composite.Scanning electron microscope(SEM) observation indicates that the uniform coating can be obtained on the whisker surface.Transmission electron microscope(TEM) observation indicates the brittle spinel product(MgAl2O4) between Al18B4O33w and 6061Al matrix, the structure continuity of the whisker are greatly destroyed after the squeeze-casting process and heat treatment.Although copper coating can not totally hinder the spinel reaction,it effectively constrains the spinel reaction and preserves the structure integrity of the Al18B4O33w.

文摘A protecting zinc and aluminum coating on the surface of AZ91D magnesium alloys was obtained by thermal spraying to improve the corrosion and wear resistance performances. In order to enhance the combination between magnesium alloy matrix and zinc and aluminum coating, the sample was heat-treated at 300℃for 2 h, then, the cross-section patterns, XRD pattern, micro-hardness, wear and corrosion resistance abilities were researched. The results indicate that the interface between the coating and substrate is metallurgical bond, and a transitional fusion layer is formed by diffusion. The micro-scale abrasion test and polarization test in 3% NaCl solution show that the diffusion-treated specimen has better wear and corrosion resistance performances in comparison with the undiffusion-treated and substrate magnesium alloys; in addition, it has relatively higher micro-hardness than the undiffusion-treated magnesium alloys.
文摘A composite hard-anodized coating containing micro PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) particles on aluminum alloy 6063 was produced by adding micro PTFE particles into the traditional hardcoat anodizing solution. The size of the PTFE particles is around 2 v- m in diameter and the content of the PTFE particles in the composite coating is within 2%-3% by area percentage. Thickness of the composite coating can reach up to 70 v m after one hour’s anodizing. Surface hardness of the composite coating is between 400-480 HVo.i- The average friction coefficient of the composite coating against steel under dry friction test is 0.11, which is 17% lower than that obtained by traditional hardcoat anodizing.

文摘The different copper coatings with thickness varying from 0.3μm to 1.5μm were deposited on carbon fibers using either electroless plating or electroplating method. The coated fibers were chopped and composites were fabricated with melting aluminum at 700℃. The effect of the copper layer on the microstructure in the system was discussed. The results show that the copper layer has fully reacted with aluminum matrix, and the intermetallic compound CuAl2 forms through SEM observation and XRD, EDX analysis. The results of tensile tests indicate that composites fabricated using carbon fibers with 0.7-1.1μm copper coating perform best and the composites turn to more brittle as the thickness of copper coating increases. The fracture surface observation exhibits good interface bonding and ductility of the matrix alloy when the thickness of copper coating is about 0.7-1.1μm.

文摘The 6061 aluminum matrix composites reinforced with ZnO-coated Mg_2B_2O_5w were fabricated by squeeze casting method and followed by extruded under a technical equivalent condition. A number of whiskers in the composites with ZnO coating were fractured during the extrusion process, but the whiskers' breakage extent was limited with the increase of coating content.

文摘The researchers made magnesium aluminum composite panels by asymmetric metal packaging and studied rolling temperature, holding time, and high temperature heat treatment, such as short time and low temperatures over long periods of time parameters under the new preparation method. We tested the new magnesium aluminum composite panels’tensing properties and bending performance by using scanning electric mirror and EDS.It is concluded that the new magnesium aluminum composite panels’elongation is 24%under the tensile strength of 260 MPa.Regarding performance when compared with other methods, traditional magnesium aluminum composite panels’elongation is 10%,which shows its advanced nature. At the same time, bending performance test showed that the combination of the composite board has higher performance, offering the reference value for the preparation of magnesium–aluminum composite plate.
