The objective of this paper was to develop a comprehensive evaluation method and index to evaluate the performance of sealants and fillers for cracks in asphalt concrete pavements using the method of principal component analysis. The performance experiments including cone penetration, softening point, flow, resilience and tension at low temperature respectively were conducted by reference of ASTM D5329 for eight sealants and fillers often used in China. There by a principal component model was developed and weight of every index was calculated. The experimental results show that there are significantly different performances for sealants and fillers often used in China. Principal component analysis is an objective method that evaluates and selects the performance of sealants and fillers for cracks in asphalt concrete pavements. 展开更多

In recent years, the beer industry is a biological food industry that consumes a lot of water, and it has developed rapidly in China. The sewage discharged from the mass production of beer poses a huge threat to the environment. In order to evaluate and better solve the possible environmental impacts of beer treatment engineering projects, a brewery project in Foshan City is taken as an example to investigate the water pollution generation links of the engineering process including surface water and groundwater. According to the relevant technical methods and standards, water pollution factors are screened, and concentration and discharge are monitored. Through comprehensive analysis, predictive evaluation is obtained. However,the existing single-factor uncertainty analysis methods are not well used in the logistic support systems with multiple decision-making factors. The multiple transfer parameters graphical evaluation and review technique(MTP-GERT) is used to model the logistic support process in consideration of two important factors, support activity time and support activity resources, which are two primary causes for the logistic support process uncertainty. On this basis,a global sensitivity analysis(GSA) method based on covariance is designed to analyze the logistic support process uncertainty. The aircraft support process is selected as a case application which illustrates the validity of the proposed method to analyze the support process uncertainty, and some feasible recommendations are proposed for aircraft support decision making on carrier. 展开更多

Safety monitoring and stability analysis of high slopes are important for high dam construction in high mountainous regions or precipitous gorges. In this paper, deformation characteristics of toppling block at upper abutment, deforming tensile rip wedge in the middle part and deep fractures are comprehensively analyzed based on the geological conditions, construction methods and monitoring results of left abutment slope in Jinping Ⅰ hydropower station. Safety analyses of surface and shallow-buried rock masses and the corresponding anchorage system are presented. The monitoring results indicate that the global stability of the large wedge block in the left abutment is effectively under control, and the abutment slope is stable in a global sense. After the completion of excavation, the deformations of toppling block at the top of the slope and deep fracture zone continue at a very low rate, which can be explained as 'rock mass creep'. Further monitoring and analysis are needed. 展开更多

The detailed procedure to analyze and evaluate testability for equipments by Bayesian network is given in the paper. Its modeling process is simple, its formulation is visual, and the analysis results are more reliable than others. Objective To evaluate the relationship of E cadherin (E CD) expression to cellular DNA content and biological behavior of gastric cancer. Methods E CD expression and cellular DNA content were quantitatively measured by flow cytometry and immunofluorescence methods in 80 cases of formalinfixed, paraffin embedded gastric cancer. Systematic pathological examinations and follow up were performed for all cases. Results E CD expression was significantly reduced in all cases of gastric cancer. Fluorescence Index (FI) of E CD expression was 0.67±0.11 in gastric cancer, 1.0±0.07 in normal gastric mucosa ( P <0.001). The reduction of E CD expression was also found in 2 cases of early gastric cancer. Tumors with a decrease in E CD expression occurred significantly more frequently in undifferentiated, diffuse growth pattern Borrmann 4 type, positive lymph node (LN) metastasis and infiltrated serosa type gastric cancer, of which survival time was within 5 years ( P <0.001). E CD expression was also reduced in gastric cancer with the number of LN metastasis above 5, metastasis to more than group 2. E CD expression was lower in uneuploid cancer than that in diploid cancer ( P <0.01). The value of DI and PI with negative E CD expression was significantly higher than that of positive E CD expression ( P <0.01). Conclusion Down regulation of E CD expression correlates with bad biological behavior and poor prognosis of gastric cancer. The reduction of E CD expression may take place during early time of gastric cancer. Quantitative analysis of E CD expression may have some value in evaluating the intensity of LN metastasis of gastric cancer. 展开更多

This paper focuses on the recognition rate comparison for competing recognition algorithms, which is a common problem of many pattern recognition research areas. The paper firstly reviews some traditional recognition rate comparison procedures and discusses their limitations. A new method, the posterior probability calculation(PPC) procedure is then proposed based on Bayesian technique. The paper analyzes the basic principle, process steps and computational complexity of the PPC procedure. In the Bayesian view, the posterior probability represents the credible degree(equal to confidence level) of the comparison results. The posterior probability of correctly selecting or sorting the competing recognition algorithms is derived, and the minimum sample size requirement is also pre-estimated and given out by the form of tables. To further illustrate how to use our method, the PPC procedure is used to prove the rationality of the experiential choice in one application and then to calculate the confidence level with the fixed-size datasets in another application. These applications reveal the superiority of the PPC procedure, and the discussions about the stopping rule further explain the underlying statistical causes. Finally we conclude that the PPC procedure achieves all the expected functions and be superior to the traditional methods. 展开更多

As an important component of city evolution, urban land redevelopment has an impact on transportation system. The current traffic impact analysis (TIA) is lack of a comprehensive component for non-motorized transportation under redevelopment. For a better guidance of land redevelopment and non-motorized transportation planning, it is necessary to evaluate the negative impact of redevelopment on non-motorized traffic in the TIA. In this paper, an evaluation framework for the impact analysis is built up. We organized the pro- cedures and components of impact evaluation, and proposed the corresponding qualitative and quantitative evaluation indicators for non-motorized traffic under redevelopment. Level of service (LOS) and its criterion are employed for external impact evaluation, and level of safety, convenience, independence, and comfort which are four aspects of quality of service (QOS) are proposed to analyze the internal impact. The framework is applied to a redevelopment study in Shanghai, China. The case study results indicate that the rede- velopment from a residential area to a mixed commercial area has a significant impact on non-motorized traffic. The potential negative impact from both external and internal traffic can be minimized by reasonable improvements in the internal land use design. 展开更多

A water quality analysis system to evaluate the impact of agricultural activities on N outflow in river basins in Japan 被引量:1

The system estimates potential N outflow by model and calculates actual N outflow from monitoring data. For the former it uses the potential load factor method to estimate annual nitrogen load from various sources and runoff potential from each area of land in a basin. For the latter it analyzes water quality monitoring data in relation to meteorological data. We used the system to analyze N outflow in basins around Lake Kasumigaura and the Yahagi River in central Honshu, Japan. The land around Lake Kasumigaura is rather flat, and about 25% is periodically flooded for rice and lotus cultivation. The land around the Yahagi River is mountainous, and much less land is flooded. In the Yahagi River basin the actual N outflow agreed closely with the potential. However, the actual N outflow in the basin around Lake Kasumigaura was much less than the potential, suggesting that a large part of the N load is denitrified in flooded soils. This further indicates that a sequence of different land uses including flooded rice fields is an important factor determining N outflow in basins in Japan. On the basis of the above analyses, we incorporated a denitrification model into the system that enables us to estimate N balance in a designated basin;this system may be helpful in the formulation of scenarios of land use andsoil management for improving water quality. 展开更多

Large-scale object-oriented(OO) software systems have recently been found to share global network characteristics such as small world and scale free,which go beyond the scope of traditional software measurement and assessment methodologies.To measure the complexity at various levels of granularity,namely graph,class(and object) and source code,we propose a hierarchical set of metrics in terms of coupling and cohesion-the most important characteristics of software,and analyze a sample of 12 open-source OO software systems to empirically validate the set.Experimental results of the correlations between cross-level metrics indicate that the graph measures of our set complement traditional software metrics well from the viewpoint of network thinking,and provide more effective information about fault-prone classes in practice. 展开更多
