Multibeam Antenna Based on Butler Matrix for 3G/LTE/5G/B5G Base Station Applications

With the rapid development of mobile communication technology and the explosion of data traffic,high capacity communication with high data transmission rate is urgently needed in densely populated areas.Since multibeam antennas are able to increase the communication capacity and support a high data transmission rate,they have attracted a lot of research interest and have been actively investigated for base station applications.In addition,since multi-beam antennas based on Butler matrix(MABBMs)have the advantages of high gain,easy design and low profile,they are suitable for base station applications.The purposes of this paper is to provide an overview of the existing MABBMs.The specifications,principles of operation,design method and implementation of MABBMs are presented.The challenge of MABBMs for 3G/LTE/5G/B5G base station applications is discussed in the end.

GROWTH ESTIMATES FOR SINE-TYPE-FUNCTIONS AND APPLICATIONS TO RIESZ BASES OF EXPONENTIALS

We present explicit estimates for the growth of sine-type-functions as well as for the derivatives at their zero sets, thus obtaining explicit constants in a result of Levin. The estimates are then used to derive explicit lower bounds for exponential Riesz bases, as they arise in Avdonin's Theorem on 1/4 in the mean or in a Theorem, of Bogmtr, Horvath, Job and Seip. An application is discussed, where knowledge of explicit lower bounds of exponential Riese bases is desirable.

Artificial Neural Network Method Based on Expert Knowledge and Its Application to Quantitative Identification of Potential Seismic Sources

In this paper,an approach is developed to optimize the quality of the training samples in the conventional Artificial Neural Network(ANN)by incorporating expert knowledge in the means of constructing expert-rule samples from rules in an expert system,and through training by using these samples,an ANN based on expert-knowledge is further developed.The method is introduced into the field of quantitative identification of potential seismic sources on the basis of the rules in an expert system.Then it is applied to the quantitative identification of the potential seismic sources in Beijing and its adjacent area.The result indicates that the expert rule based on ANN method can well incorporate and represent the expert knowledge in the rules in an expert system,and the quality of the samples and the efficiency of training and the accuracy of the result are optimized.

Data Transfer Over the Internet for Real Time Applications

Efficient real time data exchange over the Internet plays a crucial role in the successful application of web-based systems. In this paper, a data transfer mechanism over the Internet is proposed for real time web based applications. The mechanism incorporates the eXtensible Markup Language （XML） and Hierarchical Data Format （HDF） to provide a flexible and efficient data format. Heterogeneous transfer data is classified into light and heavy data, which are stored using XML and HDF respectively; the HDF data format is then mapped to Java Document Object Model （JDOM） objects in XML in the Java environment. These JDOM data objects are sent across computer networks with the support of the Java Remote Method Invocation （RMI） data transfer infrastructure. Client＇s defined data priority levels are implemented in RMI, which guides a server to transfer data objects at different priorities. A remote monitoring system for an industrial reactor process simulator is used as a case study to illustrate the proposed data transfer mechanism.

Optimization Model: Resource Distribution for Risk Factors of Type 2 Diabetes Prevention

Type 2 Diabetes, a lifestyle disease, can be prevented/delayed by adopting a healthy lifestyle. Awareness of the same amongst the citizens can be one of the best ways to initiate a decline in the positive census of the disease. We use this paper to illustrate an optimization model where the budget can be distributed based on the census data of the risk factors involved. It uses a non-linear programming model and can easily be modified into a linear one. The alternative options and constraints too, are mentioned in the paper. The results show that the mid-western states need more share of the allocation based on risk factors. The model distributes the percentage of the budget allocated to different states based on a fixed risk factor constraint.

Radar false alarm plots elimination based on multi-feature extraction and classification

Caused by the environment clutter,the radar false alarm plots are unavoidable.Suppressing false alarm points has always been a key issue in Radar plots procession.In this paper,a radar false alarm plots elimination method based on multi-feature extraction and classification is proposed to effectively eliminate false alarm plots.Firstly,the density based spatial clustering of applications with noise(DBSCAN)algorithm is used to cluster the radar echo data processed by constant false-alarm rate(CFAR).The multi-features including the scale features,time domain features and transform domain features are extracted.Secondly,a feature evaluation method combining pearson correlation coefficient(PCC)and entropy weight method(EWM)is proposed to evaluate interrelation among features,effective feature combination sets are selected as inputs of the classifier.Finally,False alarm plots classified as clutters are eliminated.The experimental results show that proposed method can eliminate about 90%false alarm plots with less target loss rate.

High-sensitivity integrated devices based on surface plasmon resonance for sensing applications

A metallic nanostructured array that scatters radiation toward a thin metallic layer generates surface plasmon resonances for normally incident light. The location of the minimum of the spectral reflectivity serves to detect changes in the index of refraction of the medium under analysis. The normal incidence operation eases its integration with optical fibers. The geometry of the arrangement and the material selection are changed to optimize some performance parameters as sensitivity, figure of merit, field enhancement, and spectral width. This optimization takes into account the feasibility of the fabrication. The evaluated results of sensitivity(1020 nm/RIU)and figure of merit(614 RIU^(-1)) are competitive with those previously reported.

A Scalable Testing Framework for Location-Based Services

A novel testing framework for location based services is introduced. In particular, the paper showcases a novel architecture for such a framework. The implementation of the framework illustrates both the functionality and the feasibility of the framework proposed and the utility of the architecture. The new framework is evaluated through comparison to several other methodologies currently available for the testing of location-based applications. A case study is presented in which the testing framework was applied to a typical mobile service tracking system. It is concluded that the proposed testing framework achieves the best coverage of the entire location based service testing problem of the currently available methodologies; being equipped to test the widest array of application attributes and allowing for the automation of testing activities.

Reaction Torque Control of Redundant Free-floating Space Robot

This paper presents the reaction torque based satellite base reactionless control or base disturbance minimization of a redundant free-floating space robot. This subject is of vital importance in the study of the free-floating space robot because the base disturbance minimization will result in less energy consumption and prolonged control application. The analytical formulation of the reaction torque is derived in this article, and the reaction torque control can achieve reactionless control and satellite base disturbance minimization. Furthermore, we derive the reaction torque based control of the space robot for base disturbance minimization from both the non-strict task priority and strict task priority control strategy. The dynamics singularity in the proposed algorithm is avoided in this paper. Besides, a real time simulation system of the space robot under Linux/real time application interface（RTAI） is developed to verify and test the feasibility and reliability of the method. The experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of online reaction torque control of the redundant free-floating space robot.
