Cognitive Radio Networks(CRNs)have become a successful platform in recent years for a diverse range of future systems,in particularly,industrial internet of things(IIoT)applications.In order to provide an efficient connection among IIoT devices,CRNs enhance spectrum utilization by using licensed spectrum.However,the routing protocol in these networks is considered one of the main problems due to node mobility and time-variant channel selection.Specifically,the channel selection for routing protocol is indispensable in CRNs to provide an adequate adaptation to the Primary User(PU)activity and create a robust routing path.This study aims to construct a robust routing path by minimizing PU interference and routing delay to maximize throughput within the IIoT domain.Thus,a generic routing framework from a cross-layer perspective is investigated that intends to share the information resources by exploiting a recently proposed method,namely,Channel Availability Probability.Moreover,a novel cross-layer-oriented routing protocol is proposed by using a time-variant channel estimation technique.This protocol combines lower layer(Physical layer and Data Link layer)sensing that is derived from the channel estimation model.Also,it periodically updates and stores the routing table for optimal route decision-making.Moreover,in order to achieve higher throughput and lower delay,a new routing metric is presented.To evaluate the performance of the proposed protocol,network simulations have been conducted and also compared to the widely used routing protocols,as a benchmark.The simulation results of different routing scenarios demonstrate that our proposed solution outperforms the existing protocols in terms of the standard network performance metrics involving packet delivery ratio(with an improved margin of around 5–20%approximately)under varying numbers of PUs and cognitive users in Mobile Cognitive Radio Networks(MCRNs).Moreover,the cross-layer routing protocol successfully achieves high routing performance in finding a robust route,selecting the high channel stability,and reducing the probability of PU interference for continued communication. 展开更多

This paper uses a correlation dimension based nonlinear analysis approach to analyse the dynamics of network traffics with three different application protocols-HTTP, FTP and SMTP. First, the phase space is reconstructed and the embedding parameters are obtained by the mutual information method. Secondly, the correlation dimensions of three different traffics are calculated and the results of analysis have demonstrated that the dynamics of the three different application protocol traffics is different from each other in nature, i.e. HTTP and FTP traffics are chaotic, furthermore, the former is more complex than the later; on the other hand, SMTP traffic is stochastic. It is shown that correlation dimension approach is an efficient method to understand and to characterize the nonlinear dynamics of HTTP, FTP and SMTP protocol network traffics. This analysis provided insight into and a more accurate understanding of nonlinear dynamics of internet traffics which have a complex mixture of chaotic and stochastic components. 展开更多

The Internet of Things(IoT)has been growing over the past few years due to its flexibility and ease of use in real-time applications.The IoT's foremost task is ensuring that there is proper communication among different types of applications and devices,and that the application layer protocols fulfill this necessity.However,as the number of applications grows,it is necessary to modify or enhance the application layer protocols according to specific IoT applications,allowing specific issues to be addressed,such as dynamic adaption to network conditions and interoperability.Recently,several IoT application layer protocols have been enhanced and modified according to application requirements.However,no existing survey articles focus on these protocols.In this article,we survey traditional and recent advances in IoT application layer protocols,as well as relevant real-time applications and their adapted application layer protocols for improving performance.As changing the nature of protocols for each application is unrealistic,machine learning offers means of making protocols intelligent and is able to adapt dynamically.In this context,we focus on providing open challenges to drive IoT application layer protocols in such a direction. 展开更多

This paper discusses the threats with current WAP protocol, and how changes in the protocol and the increase in its usage will enable entry of real viruses. In modern wireless communication network, the increased consumer demands for multi-type applications and high quality services have become a prominent trend, and put considerable pressure on the wireless network. In that case, the Quality of Experience(Qo E) has received much attention and has become a key performance measurement for the application and service. In order to meet the users' expectations, the management of the resource is crucial in wireless network, especially the Qo E based resource allocation. One of the effective way for resource allocation management is accurate application identification. In this paper, we propose a novel deep learning based method for application identification. We first analyse the requirement of managing Qo E for wireless communication, and review the limitation of the traditional identification methods. After that, a deep learning based method is proposed for automatically extracting the features and identifying the type of application. The proposed method is evaluated by using the practical wireless traffic data, and the experiments verify the effectiveness of our method. 展开更多

We put forward a RTP/RSVP transmission scheme with DSR-specific payload and QoS parameters by modifying the present WAP protocol stack. The simulation result shows that this scheme will provide adequate network bandwidth to keep the real-time transport of DSR data over either wirelined or wireless channels. 展开更多

随着接入物联网的小型设备增多,受限应用协议(constrained application protocol, CoAP)的使用频率上升,对CoAP通信安全性的关切也日益突显。为确保客户端与服务器通信的安全性,提出一种基于国产密码算法的创新性CoAP安全方案。在配置阶... 随着接入物联网的小型设备增多,受限应用协议(constrained application protocol, CoAP)的使用频率上升,对CoAP通信安全性的关切也日益突显。为确保客户端与服务器通信的安全性,提出一种基于国产密码算法的创新性CoAP安全方案。在配置阶段,将预共享密钥硬编码到设备中;身份认证及密钥协商阶段采用基于有效负载的加密方法,通过两条握手消息完成双方身份认证,并获取用于数据传输的协商密钥;数据传输阶段采用观察者模式,客户端发送观察资源请求,依赖服务器加密传输资源,实现节能观察。安全方案使用SM4算法对身份认证和数据传输的数据进行加密,利用SM3算法验证消息完整性,有效提升了CoAP的安全防护能力。安全性分析和仿真实验结果展示了其在计算、通信和存储方面的卓越性能,确保了方案能够满足实际应用需求。 展开更多

Modeling TCP Incast Issue in Data Center Networks and an Adaptive Application-Layer Solution

In data centers, the transmission control protocol(TCP) incast causes catastrophic goodput degradation to applications with a many-to-one traffic pattern. In this paper, we intend to tame incast at the receiver-side application. Towards this goal, we first develop an analytical model that formulates the incast probability as a function of connection variables and network environment settings. We combine the model with the optimization theory and derive some insights into minimizing the incast probability through tuning connection variables related to applications. Then,enlightened by the analytical results, we propose an adaptive application-layer solution to the TCP incast.The solution equally allocates advertised windows to concurrent connections, and dynamically adapts the number of concurrent connections to the varying conditions. Simulation results show that our solution consistently eludes incast and achieves high goodput in various scenarios including the ones with multiple bottleneck links and background TCP traffic. 展开更多

The modeling of Application Triggering Architecture (ATA) in the IP Multimedia Sub- system (IMS) is presented. The session setup delay and system throughput are employed as the measurement to investigate the performance of ATA and the Serving Call Session Control Function (S-CSCF). With theoretical analysis and simulation results, we find that, the number of the ASs (Application Servers), the use of the subsequent Filter Criteria (sFC) and the arrival rate have heavy impact on the session setup delay and the S-CSCF is the major bottleneck in IMS network. The results are useful in constructing IMS network. At last, we propose several possible solutions to reduce the session setup delay and decrease the load of the S-CSCF. 展开更多

约束应用协议(CoAP)作为一种新兴的物联网协议,虽然考虑了安全设计,但依然不能满足新的安全需求。文章提出了一个基于软件定义边界(SDP)的安全增强CoAP通信框架(SDP-CoAP),利用单包认证(SPA)技术,客户端将认证信息、数据包传输层安全性... 约束应用协议(CoAP)作为一种新兴的物联网协议,虽然考虑了安全设计,但依然不能满足新的安全需求。文章提出了一个基于软件定义边界(SDP)的安全增强CoAP通信框架(SDP-CoAP),利用单包认证(SPA)技术,客户端将认证信息、数据包传输层安全性协议(DTLS)的隧道加密方式和CoAP请求方式等信息添加到握手过程的第一个数据包中,并发送给SDP控制器,实现先认证后通信。对于通过认证的访问请求,从环境、行为等多个维度实时评估访问的可信度,结合客户端不同的请求方式,实现多维动态访问授权。文章还对SDP-CoAP架构的具体部署方式进行分析,设计了一种综合安全性能、能量消耗和处理延迟的部署方式。实验结果表明,SDP-CoAP的客户端-网关部署方式在没有引入明显能源消耗和网络延迟的情况下可以有效增强CoAP网络的安全性。 展开更多

为了解决物联网设备众多、协议众多,以及协议架构和应用场景不同引发的物联网设备互操作性问题,针对应用层使用广泛的HTTP等4种协议,提出了一种基于协议包解析和关键方法映射的高效可扩展的应用层协议转换方案。考虑到4种协议的基础架... 为了解决物联网设备众多、协议众多,以及协议架构和应用场景不同引发的物联网设备互操作性问题,针对应用层使用广泛的HTTP等4种协议,提出了一种基于协议包解析和关键方法映射的高效可扩展的应用层协议转换方案。考虑到4种协议的基础架构、消息格式、通信模式以及应用场景具有较大差异,该方案通过对协议原始数据包进行解析和关键信息提取,然后统一以键值对的形式进行信息存储,解决了不同协议信息存储的统一性问题。通过构造关键方法映射表,将不同协议的方法进行映射,实现了不同协议之间的互联。实验结果表明,基于所提方案实现的协议转换系统能很好地完成4种协议之间的消息转换。相比同类型的Ponte方法,在相同实验条件下,所提方案的转换速度都优于Ponte,甚至在某些情况下表现出了将近10倍的速度差距,同时支持多出一倍的转换类型。实验结果验证了所提方法在可扩展性和转换时间等效率方面相比同类型的协议转换算法具有显著提升。 展开更多
