The result shows that there are similarities as well as differences in hedging frequency and distribution between the research articles by Chinese writers and native English writers. Research articles written by Chinese writers tend to be more direct and authoritative in tone as a result of higher frequency of approximators and lower frequency of plausibility shields.展开更多
