Background The control system of the China ADS front-end demo linac(CAFe)facility has been built based on a software tool entitled the“Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System”(EPICS).In the EPICS system,t...Background The control system of the China ADS front-end demo linac(CAFe)facility has been built based on a software tool entitled the“Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System”(EPICS).In the EPICS system,the online acquisitions,storage and historical data queries are completed in the Archiver Appliance system.For the construction,upgrading,operation and maintenance of the CAFe facility,it is necessary to use a convenient and reliable archiver system.To reconstruct the CAFe accelerator from a research facility to an experimental facility,some functions of the control system have been reformed to improve the reliability of the facility operation.Purpose This paper presents a new deployment of the Archiver Appliance.The Archiver engine is deployed in a Kubernetes(K8S)cluster as a container.The horizontal pod scaling(HPA)strategy was formulated to implement the automatic expansion and contraction of the application.Methods The Docker containers of the Archiver Appliance have been built and run in the pods of the K8S clusters,which can implement automatic expansion and contraction of the application.The combination scheme with the Prometheus,Dashboard and Grafana schemes has been used to jointly build a monitoring system for the cluster and the pods inside the cluster.Results Currently,the Archiver Appliance system with K8S clusters is under commissioning at the CAFe facility.This deployment method fulfills the requirements of the CAFe experimental facility for portability,high availability and disaster tolerance of archive server software.展开更多
Background The control system of China ADS front-end demo linac(CAFe)is a distributed control system based on experimental physics and industrial control system(EPICS).The data generated by the control system are stor...Background The control system of China ADS front-end demo linac(CAFe)is a distributed control system based on experimental physics and industrial control system(EPICS).The data generated by the control system are stored and retrieved by Channel Archiver.However,with the development of accelerator devices,its scale continues to expand.Channel Archiver has been unable to meet the increasing data volume in terms of availability,performance,and storage expansion.Purpose This paper presents a new data archiving system of EPICS control system.The archive engine is developed with microservice architecture,and the data storage layer uses the distributed database—HBase.Method The archive engine supports a variety of archive modes,and process variable(PV)archive requests and confguration changes can be realized without restarting.It can also realize data retrieval in a variety of ways.In addition,python scripts and Web UI can be used to implement the management functions of the system.Results Currently,the archiving system is under commissioning at CAFe facility.The results show that the new archiving system is convenient to operate and easy to expand and provides a research platform for future data analysis.展开更多

Taking the construction of the S...The construction of demonstration digital archives is a key project for the innovative development of the archival industry vigorously promoted by the National Archives Administration. Taking the construction of the Smart Archives in Dongcheng District, Beijing as an example, this paper deeply explores the work objectives, functional requirements, and technical means of creating a demonstration digital archive. One is scientific planning, which is building the basic framework of digital archives. Proposed the infrastructure of “three major supports, five major platforms, and three major guarantees”. The second is to highlight key points and improve the basic functions of digital archives. Including hardware construction, software configuration, digitization of library archives, electronic archive management, sharing and utilization of digital archive information, and formulation of management systems for digital archives. The third is to strive for practical results and deepen the construction of smart libraries. This includes vigorously promoting the construction of smart archive centers, establishing a comprehensive management platform for smart libraries, and introducing new-generation information technology to achieve the integration of smart libraries in order to explore some mature experiences and methods that can be referenced for the creation of demonstration digital archives.展开更多
