A new method of elastic articulated objects (human bodies) modeling was presented based on a new conic curve. The model includes 3D object deformable curves which can represent the deformation of human occluding contours. The deformation of human occluding contour can be represented by adjusting only four deformation parameters for each limb. Then, the 3D deformation parameters are determined by corresponding 2D contours from a sequence of stereo images. The algorithm presented in this paper includes deformable conic curve parameters determination and the plane, 3D conic curve lying on, parameter determination. 展开更多

Hand Motion Tracking Using Simulated Annealing Method in a Discrete Space

Hand tracking is a challenging problem due to the complexity of searching in a 20 + degrees of freedom (DOF) space for an optimal estimation of hand configuration. The feasible hand configurations are represented as a discrete space, which avoids learning to find parameters as general configuration space representations do. Then, an extended simulated annealing method with particle filtering to search for optimal hand configuration in the proposed discrete space, in which simplex search running in multi-processor is designed to predict the hand motion instead of initializing the simulated annealing randomly, and particle filtering is employed to represent the state of the tracker at each layer for searching in high dimensional configuration space. Experimental results show that the proposed method makes the hand tracking more efficient and robust. 展开更多

A graph theory model of the human nature structure( GMH) for machine vision and image/graphics processing is described in this paper. Independent from the motion and deformation of contours,the human nature structure( HNS) embodies the most basic movement characteristics of the body. The human body can be divided into basic units like head,torso,and limbs. Using these basic units,a graph theory model for the HNS can be constructed. GMH provides a basic model for human posture processing,and the outline in the perspective projection plane is the body contour of an image. In addition,the GMH can be applied to articulated motion and deformable objects,e. g.,in the design and analysis of body posture,by modifying mapping parameters of the GMH. 展开更多
