With the dramatic parameter variations in large flight envelope and the locally overlapped switching laws in flight, the system dynamics is modeled as a locally overlapped switched polytopic system to reduce designing conservatism and solving complexity. Then, considering updating lags of controller s switching signals and the weighted coefficients of the polytopic subsystems induced by missing measurements, an asynchronous H∞control method is proposed such that the system is stable and a desired disturbance attenuation level is satisfied. Furthermore, the sufficient existing conditions of the desired switched parameter-dependent H∞controller are derived in the form of linear matrix inequality(LMIs) by combining the switched parameter-dependent Lyapunov function method and average dwell time method. Finally, a numerical example based on a highly maneuverable technology(Hi MAT) vehicle is given to verify the validity of the proposed method.展开更多

In such type of hydro scheme whole generating system is isolated from the grid and supply electricity to the remote communities. The single point operation of these generators is realized, in such a manner that excitation capacitors, speeds, load, voltage, currents of generators remain constant under various operating conditions. The proposed controller consists of a 3-leg IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) based voltage source converter (VSC) and a DC chopper with an auxiliary load at the DC bus of the VSC. The IELC controls the reactive and active powers simultaneously for controlling the voltage and frequency under varying consumer loads. Along with voltage and frequency control through single point operation of IAGs driven by uncontrolled pico hydro turbines, the IELC meets the power quality standard an IEEE-519 and it keeps the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the terminal voltage and currents within the limit of 5%. Here the proposed electrical system along with its controller is modeled in MATLAB along with Simulink and PSB (Power System Block-set) toolboxes. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the capability of proposed controller for an isolated generating system.展开更多

To comply with the discrete nature of networked systems, in contrast to most of the existing work for MASs under network imperfections, the agents are modeled by discrete-time dynamics. The communication network is considered to be undirected, its delay is considered to be time-varying but bounded, and its packet dropout is modeled by a Bernoulli distributed white sequence.Sufficient conditions in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs)for asymptotic mean-square consensus stability are derived under network imperfections without considering external disturbances.A desired disturbance attenuation level in the presence of both external disturbances and network imperfections is also provided.A simulation example is given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach in coping with network imperfection and disturbances.展开更多

Based on this, an adaptive sliding mode controller (ASMC) is synthesized, which guarantees the occurrence of sliding mode even when the system is undergoing parameter uncertainties and external disturbance. The resulting sliding mode has the same order as the original system, so that it becomes easy to solve the H∞ control problem by designing a memoryless H∞ state feedback controller. A delay-dependent sufficient condition is proposed in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which guarantees the sliding mode robust asymptotically stable and has a noise attenuation level γ in an H∞ sense. The admissible state feedback controller can be found by solving a sequential minimization problem subject to LMI constraints by applying the cone complementary linearization method. This design scheme combines the strong robustness of the sliding mode control with the H∞ norm performance. A numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.展开更多

A dynamical network is said to be robust to disturbance, if the H∞ norm of its transfer function matrix from the disturbance to the performance variable is satisfactorily small. It is shown that the disturbance rejection problem of a dynamical network can be solved by analysing the H∞ control problem of a set of independent systems whose dimensions are equal to that of a single node. A counter-intuitive result is that the disturbance rejection level of the whole network with a diffusive coupling will never be better than that of an isolated node. To improve this, local feedback injections are applied to a small fraction of the nodes in the network. Some criteria for possible performance improvement are derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities. It is further demonstrated via a simulation example that one can indeed improve the disturbance rejection level of the network by pinning the nodes with higher degrees than pinning those with lower degrees.展开更多
