Their work conditions directly affect the safety of staff and production. In the paper, the performance of the contra-rotating axial flow fan is experi- mentally investigated. The study is focused on the fan performance, the shaft power and the match between the motor and fan efficiency at different blade angles. The results show that the blade angle 43°/26° has the best aerodynamic perfor- mance. The first engine has a greater impact on the fan than the second one. The blade angle with the best aerodynamic performance does not necessarily correspond to the one with the best match between the motor and fan efficiency. The blade angle 43°/24° is the best choice for the operation of the fan in the present study.展开更多

The inlet guide vanes with different outlet angle are designed, which are mounted on the casing and located at the upstream of the impeller of the prototype fan. Both steady and unsteady flow simulations arc performed. The steady flow is simulated by the calculations of Navier-Stokes equa- tions coupled with RNG k-epsilon turbulence model, while the unsteady flow is computed with large eddy simu- lation. According to the theoretical analysis, the inlet guide vanes with outlet angle of 60° are regarded as the op- timal inlet guide vanes. The three-dimensional viscous flow fields of the fans are computed. In the experiments, the two-dimensional plane particle image velocimetry (PIV) system is used to measure the flow fields in the tip region of three different pitchwise positions of each fan. The results show that the computational results agree well with the experimental data in the flow field of the tip region of each fan. The tip leakage vortex core segments based on method of the eigenmode analysis can display clearly some characteristics of the tip leakage vortex, such as the origination position of tip leak- age vortex, the development of vortex strength, and so on. Compared with the radial rotor, the other two skewed rotors can increase the stability of the tip leakage vortex and the increment in the forward-skewed rotor is more than that in the backward-skewed one. Among the tip leakage vortices of the three rotors, the velocity of the vortex in the forward-skewed rotor is th6 highest in the circumferential direction and the lowest in the axial direction.展开更多

It is of benefit to the design and operation optimization of the direct dry cooling system in a power plant to investigate the thermo-flow characteristics of the condenser cell and propose the flow leading measures of cooling air. On the basis of the representative configuration of the air-cooled condenser cell in a 600 MW direct dry cooling power plant, the computa- tional models of the air side fluid and heat flows are built, in which the actual fan blade geometric details are considered. Various flow field leading ways of cooling air are presented and the thermo-flow characteristics in the A-frame condenser cell and through the finned tube bundles are compared. Results show that the flow field leading measures can result in the increased volumetric flow rate and heat rejection, thus bringing on the improved performance of the condenser cell. The improvement of thermo-flow oerformances depends upon the geometric details of the flow guiding device.展开更多

A small cooling fan was simulated using CFD software for three blade stagger angles (30.5°, 37.5°, 44.5°)and obtained the internal flow field and the static characteristics. Research indicated that the stagger angle has an obvious effect on the static characteristics of a fan. For flow rates below 0.0104 mVs, total pressure is the greatest when the stagger angle is 37.5°; flow rates higher than 0.0104 m^3/s, the total pressure is greatest when the stagger angle is 44.5° For the same flow rates, the velocity at inlet of pressure surface increases with in- creasing stagger angle, but the change of velocity on the suction surface is very small. For one model, vortices and the speed of revolution surfaces decrease with tip clearance increasing. But for other three models, increasing the stagger angle, the vortex intensity and speed of revolution surfaces at same height tip clearance increases, simultaneously, the position of vortex offset from the top of the rotor blade to the suction surface.展开更多

Meanwhile, the optimal inlet guide vanes have effect on reducing noise at the near field, but have little effect on the noise at the far field.

文摘In the steady operation condition, the experiments and the numerical simulations are used to investigate the tip leakage flow fields in three low pressure axial flow fans with three kinds of circumferential skewed rotors, including the radial rotor, the forward-skewed rotor and the back- ward-skewed rotor. Among the tip leakage vortices of the three rotors, the velocity of the vortex in the forward-skewed rotor is th6 highest in the circumferential direction and the lowest in the axial direction.
文摘A new type fully reversible combined blade is presented, which can fully reverse airflow during the inverse ventilation by simply reversion. It is suitable for reversible axial flow fans used in tunnel and mine ventilation. The optimal parameters such as overlap ratio and pitch ratio are determined through cascade experiment. Experiment results also show a big promotion of maximum lift coefficient C1,max and stall attack angle a1,max compared to the existing bi-directional symmetry airfoils.
文摘The present study introduces an innovative aerodynamic redesign of an axial flow fan based on constant diffusion factor and radial equilibrium. All input design parameters such as mass flow rate, hub to tip ratio, aspect ratio, tip diameter and angular velocity are taken from NASA Rotor 67 as a conventional axial flow fan.A computer program is developed to extract the three-dimensional geometry of a fan and to estimate the span-wise distribution of parameters. The new designed fan flow field is investigated in detail by CFD tool at both design and off design conditions. Finally,a turbofan cycle analysis is conducted based on thermodynamic and gas dynamic principles to evaluate the fan performance in a turbofan engine in comparison to NASA Rotor 67.Achieving a higher total pressure ratio, meeting the target pressure ratio in lower rotational speed with higher efficiency, delivering more bypass air in a constant diameter and less fuel consumption for the same specific thrust force are the main advantages for the new design strategy in comparison to the conventional designed fans such as Rotor 67.However,efficiency reduction in fan over speed is the main disadvantage.

文摘Special A-frame geometry of the air-cooled condenser cell and the complicated flow field at the exit of the axial flow fan bring on the air mal-distribution on the surface of the finned tube bundles and the deteriorated thermo-flow performances of a condenser cell. The improvement of thermo-flow oerformances depends upon the geometric details of the flow guiding device.

文摘Many factors such as outer diameter, hub ratio, blade numbers, shape and stagger angle affect the performance of small cooling fans. But for other three models, increasing the stagger angle, the vortex intensity and speed of revolution surfaces at same height tip clearance increases, simultaneously, the position of vortex offset from the top of the rotor blade to the suction surface.
