The specimens were designed with different width-to-thickness ratios and loaded under different axial load ratios. For each specimen, the failure mode was observed and hysteretic curve was measured. Comparison of different specimens on hysteretic characteristic, energy dissipation capacity and deformation capacity were further investigated. Test results showed that the degradation of bearing capacity was due to local buckling of flange and web. Under the same axial load ratio, as width-to-thickness ratio increased, the deformation area of local buckling became smaller. And also, displacement level at both peak load and failure load became smaller. In addition, the full extent of hysteretic curve, energy dissipation capacity, ultimate story drift angle decreased, and capacity degradation occurred more rapidly with the increase of width-to-thickness ratio or axial load ratio. Based on the capacity of story drift angle, limiting values which shall not be exceeded are suggested respectively for flange and web plate of 460 MPa HSS I-section columns when used in SMFs and in IMFs in the case of axial load ratio no more than 0.2. Such values should be smaller when the axial load ratio increases.展开更多

The ball-screw is simplified as Timoshenko beam and the differential equation of motion for the ball-screw is built. To obtain the axial vibration equation, the differential equation of motion is simplified using the assumed mode method. Axial vibration equation is in form of Duffing equation and has the characteristics of nonlinearity. The numerical simulation of Duffing equation is proceeded by MATLAB / Simulink. The effect of screw length, exciting force and damping coefficient are researched, and the axial vibration phase track diagram and Poincare section are obtained. The stability and period of the axial vibration are analyzed. The limit cycle of phase track diagram is enclosed. Axial vibration has two type-center singularity distributions on both sides of the origin. The singularity attracts vibration to reach a stable state, and Poincare section shows that axial vibration appears chaotic motion and quasi periodic motion or periodic motion. Singularity position changes with the vibration system parameters, while the distribution doesn’ t change. The period of the vibration is enhanced with increasing frequency and damping coefficient. Test of the feeding system ball-screw axial vibration exists chaos movement. This paper provides a certain theoretical basis for the dynamic characteristic analysis of machine feeding system ball-screw and optimization of structural parameters.展开更多

So theoretical analysis, numerical simulation and experimental data are combined to analyze the influence of variable cross-section characteristic on the time history of crater radius. Moreover the relationships between time history of crater radius (as well as mass of BAD) and the thickness of RHA (from 30mm to 70 mm) and the impact velocity of EFP (1650 m/s to 1860 m/s) are also investigated. The results indicate that: 1) being compared to the variable cross-section characteristic is ignored, the theoretical time history of crater radius is in better agreement with the simulation results when the variable cross-section characteristic is considered;2) being compared to the other three conditions of plug, the theoretical mass of BAD is in the best agreement with the simulation results when the shape of plug is frustum of a cone and the angle between generatrix and bottom is 45- and the axial length of mushroom is considered.展开更多
