Research on Emergency Design and Renewal Strategy of Public Space in Old Communities Based on Public Health Emergencies:A Case Study of No.4 Courtyard of Luochengtou Community, Handan City

There are a large number of old communities in Chinese cities that urgently need to be updated and upgraded.However,the old community renewal in the past mostly focused on the transformation of physical environment with a single goal.There is a lack of in-depth thinking about the problems presented by the public space in the old communities,and it is necessary to focus on this.The continuous occurrence of public health incidents has increased the pressure on urban development,and old communities have become shortcomings in such incidents.It is a topic worthy to study whether the emergency design update of public spaces can supplement the shortcomings of old communities in public health emergencies.Based on the background of public health emergencies,combined with the theory of resilient cities,the study analyzes the emergency design of public space in the old communities and conducts a research on the renewal strategy,taking the No.4 Courtyard of Luochengtou Community in Handan City as an example.The improvement strategies of management,transportation,structure and space are specifically put forward,in order to provide reference for the emergency design update of old communities.

The Application and Prospects of Digital Visualization in Urban Public Building Space Design

With the development and innovation of digital information technology, digital visualization plays an increasingly important role in the design of urban public building spaces. This paper explores the application of digital visualization technology in the design of urban public building spaces and looks ahead to future trends. Firstly, it analyzes the challenges in the design of urban public building spaces, including extensive professional involvement, complex functional layout requirements, rational emergency evacuation routes, multidimensional analysis of architectural spatial environments, and appropriate selection of decorative materials. RMIT UNIVERSITY LAWN PRECINCT A CASE STUDY IN URBAN RENEWAL AND THE DESIGN OF PUBLIC SPACE

INTRODUCTION The University Lawn Precinct is a rare example of a large-scale urban refurbishment within an existing university campus embedded within the city.The ambition for the project was to transform a once degraded campus into a vibrant urban venue as a new public place-a place that reconnected the university back into the city it occupies.The University Lawn Precinct forms part of a larger campus-wide Urban Spaces Project that commenced in the mid-1990s.Originally a gravel car park hemmed in at the rear of the main university buildings,this forgotten service area has been transformed into a richly layered urban realm.The university has worked closely with the City of Melbourne as part of a sustained program of pedestrianisation and urban enhancement.

Planning of Urban Public Disaster-prevention Green Spaces: A Case Study of Living Water Park in Chengdu City

Based on disaster-prevention functions of urban public green spaces, necessity and significance of emergency shelters in a city were analyzed. Taking Living Water Park in Chengdu for example, planning of urban public disaster-prevention green spaces was analyzed to further explore planning of urban disaster-prevention green space system and refugee spaces, and provide instructions for the planning and construction of urban disaster-prevention green spaces in China.

Potentials of a Place as Leaders for Prioritizing the Adjustment of Public Spaces within a Hierarchy

The article gives a view over a part of a research that has been started on public spaces as a shared wealth of different qualities and uses. Introduction explores the capital of Slovakia a little bit in the sense of urban structure and historical consequences. The issue is currently solved by several members （academics, officials, NGOs （non-governmental organizations）） focusing on the same thing from slightly different aspects. Therefore, qualities and characteristics of an open space are put into closer look in the main text body part. Single tools working with individual features describe the up-to-date situation in the Bratislava city center. It is assumed that they could be used for whole city and other cities as well, what would bring an overall look at towns and cities in Slovakia. Features and findings are expressed in map and in simplified graphic schemes. Findings include mutual effects and consequences between role of a space in the city as a cultural phenomenon, its physical surrounding and people flowing daily through it. Finally, advices and prioritization could be formed for the city itself as a self-governing subject to improve its ＂inner-outer＂ qualities.

WEST BERKELEY PUBLIC LIBRARY:A CASE STUDY IN ZERO-NET ENERGY LIGHTING DESIGN

Designing lighting for zero-net energy buildings poses unique and fascinating design problems.Beyond the challenge of providing lighting loads on the order of.1W/sqft2,these projects require toolsets beyond the typical scope of a light-ing design consultant,including detailed controls design and photometric pre-dictions of available daylighting.These new roles are part of a broader trend in lighting design as,driven by new code requirements and a general push towards high-performing buildings,lighting design is becoming a more technical,metrics-driven profession.There’s a delicate balancing act here,and indeed we have the same responsibility to these projects as any other:lighting that is comfortable and functional for the occupants,that supports the architectural gesture,and that is available within the project budget.So the task is not simply to design the absolute minimum energy density(although yes,also that),but rather to identify ways in which all of these constraints may be harmonized,and embrace the collaborative and iterative workflow that these projects demand.This case study is written for architects,engineers,owners and others that want an overview of the lighting design process for ultra-low energy density buildings.I’ll gloss both the absolute basics and the more esoteric technical details in favor of discussing practical techniques that we used successfully to further the project goals,and the trade-offs we confronted.

Spatial Integration Design of Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu Recreational Business District

With the development of urban tourism, the urban recreational business district(RBD) has increasingly become the gathering place of urban tourism activities. Under the impact of the Internet virtual space on the urban physical space, however, the development of the physical commercial space in most cities of China is on a downward trend. Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu has successfully broken out of this competition and became a research sample of the urban RBD. This paper is based on the integration of Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu Project, including the concern for "place making", the integration of resources and the creative development and utilization of urban public space to explore the integrated design strategy of urban recreational space and commercial space for sustainable development.

Assessing Flexible Places for Adaptive Urban Design:A New Method and the Case of Cittaducale

Each place has its own peculiarities,determining that the resilience and adaptation to diverse types of risks will be different,requiring different time and methods for mitigation as well.The coexistence of several risks determines further resolution difficulties as commonly,since risks are sudden and unforeseen,there is a tendency to treat the last risk more carefully,neglecting the previous one even if it is just as important.Most of the methodologies used to analyse areas affected by different risks are aimed at focusing in particular on seismic risks without considering those relating to intangible aspects linked to the identity of the places or aspects related to urban health and liveability.And,more in general,in relation to design aspects,urban methodologies do not consider all the results of the analyses,maybe for the difficulty deriving from translating the complexity of collected data in project interventions.Starting from these premises,the objective of the article,elaborated within the SISMI and PRIN 2020 research projects is to propose an original methodology capable of analysing the places affected by multiple risks and planning its resilience attentive to its cultural resources and to its liveability.To this end,the proposed method will be aimed at creating flexible and adaptive places and the case-study of Cittaducale will be illustrated.Criticalities and qualities of this place affected by an earthquake in 2016 will be reported and project interventions to transform its risks into opportunities will be shown.

从街道场所到城市区域:美国城市宜居性的研究与实践

“宜居性”是20世纪60年代以来美国人本主义城市设计中的重要议题。区别于现代主义带有浓重乌托邦色彩的宏大城市构想,宜居性理论重点关注微小叙事和日常生活。文章通过详细梳理20世纪60年代以来美国宜居性理论研究和实践的发展历程发现:1996年以前的宜居性研究聚焦于街道—场所尺度,包含两条研究脉络,即从安全的街道到复合型林荫大道和从交往的场所到公共领域的重塑;1996年以后,新城市主义理论的发展推动了“街道—社区—城市—区域”多尺度融合的宜居性研究和实践。在此基础上,对我国的宜居城市建设提出3点启示:以人为本,优化步行和公交系统;关注日常生活,鼓励公共参与;注重多尺度空间要素的一致性和完整性。

环境艺术设计在公共空间中的应用思考

在现代城市发展过程中公共空间作为主要的生活、交往、娱乐场所,其与我国社会公众的生活品质、城市形象存在密切的关联,而环境艺术设计的有效应用可以显著提升公共空间的生态品质。结合环境艺术设计要素,在公共空间设计中应充分考虑美学效果和视觉效果、空间利用和功能优化、社会价值和文化价值等影响因素,注重公园和绿地、广场和街道、公共艺术设施等在公共空间中的具体应用,通过创新环境艺术设计理念、考虑公共空间的使用目的和功能需求等有效措施提升公共空间的创造品质。

全龄友好理念下小微公共空间的包容性设计与建设研究

小微公共空间是居民日常高频次使用的空间类型,因其中多元人群需求复杂,存在公平性低、易用性差、开放性不足等设计排斥性问题。本文基于全龄友好理论发展,提出公平性、易用性、开放性3项小微公共空间包容性设计原则。通过研究公平和谐、易用友好、社交促进3种模式小微公共空间的建设实践,对营建全龄友好小微公共空间提出建议。

历史街区公共空间景观设计研究——以“庄河老街”为例

历史街区是重要的文化遗产,城市化进程使得老旧的历史街区遭受破坏。然而,现代社会对历史街区保护的重视和人际交流的需求使得历史街区公共空间的作用日益突显。文中以“庄河老街”为例,分析人的行为和心理特点,通过对历史街区风貌的保护和公共空间的进行改造,实现文化传承,使历史街区重新焕发活力,同时为将来的街区更新提供理论参考。

公共游戏空间包容性设计:照顾者视角的实证研究

近年来,学界逐渐关注公共游戏空间的包容性问题,以满足不同儿童的多样化需求。然而,对于陪同孩子的照顾者而言,公共游戏空间设计的包容性考虑尚显不足。随着社会结构的变革,家庭结构的变化导致越来越多的祖父母和家务助理参与到孩子的日常照顾中,商业、大都会和国际城市尤为明显。目前,这些变化显著而关键地影响了对公共游戏空间质量和有效性的考虑。本研究以香港的公共游戏空间为个案,采用多种定性研究方法收集数据。从照顾者视角探讨其如何看待公共游戏空间,及其需求和偏好。通过对数据的综合分析,研究聚焦于四个关键因素,即包容性、安全性、自由与控制,以及氛围,以期填补社会变化和公共游戏空间设计之间的差距。
