The basalts are of Late Tertiary period. The Damaping basalt is particularly noteworthy for abundant large ultramafic inclusions. Our objective is to use the rare earth element data to investigate their petrogenesis. Detailed petrographic, geochemical and mineralogical descriptions will be published elsewhere.
