For instance, both Tmag c and β of the Ni3Pt (L12) and NiPt (L10) and Tmag c of the CoPt (L10) and CoPt3 (L12) ordered compounds are strongly depressed due to the ordering compared with those of the metastable disordered Ni-Pt and Co-Pt alloys. On the other hand, the γ’-FeNi3 (L12) and the α’-FeCo (B2) ordered compounds have higher Tmag c and β values comparing with the disordered solution phases, γ (A1) and α (A2), respectively. In consequence, the stability of the ordered phase is depressed or enhanced due to the interaction between the chemical and magnetic ordering caused by the decrease or increase of Tmag c and β values. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the interaction between the chemical and the magnetic ordering on the phase equilibria in the Fe-X(X=Al, Co, Ni, Rh, Si) binary systems. The Gibbs energy of the α(A2), γ(A1) and liquid phases is described by a sub-regular solution approximation. The ordering contribution to the Gibbs energy ,ΔGorder m, and deviations of magnetic properties, ΔTmag c and Δβ, of the ordered compounds, FeAl (B2), Fe3Al (D03), FeCo (B2), FeRh (B2), FeSi (B2), Fe3Si (D03) and FeNi3 (L12) is introduced by the split compound energy formalism. Effect of the interaction between the chemical ordering, B2, D03 and L12 and the magnetic ordering on the phase equilibria will be discussed according to the calculated phase diagrams of the Fe-X binary systems.展开更多

The results show that duplex γ' precipitates are present in the γ matrix after aging treatment with or without the magnetic field. One is the coarse particles with average size of 500 nm; the other is fine spherical γ' precipitates with average of 100 nm in diameter. The application of a 10T magnetic field only results in the shape of the coarse γ' particles changing from spherical to cuboidal when the alloys subjected to the same heat treatments. This shape change was mainly discussed based on the strain energy increase caused by the difference in magnetostriction between the γ matrix and γ' precipitates. The fine γ' particles still keep spherical. Further TEM observations shows that a number of γ particles in nano-scale precipitate in the coarse γ' particles in the specimens treated without the magnetic field. In addition, it was found that the magnetic field caused the decrease of the hardness in the alloy, and the hardness was associated with the field direction.展开更多

In order to improve hard magnetic properties of the alloys prepared by mechanical alloying, a new method consisting of re-milling and re-annealing was developed. After being re-milled and re-annealed, the Curie temperature TC of the Sm-Fe-C alloys changes. The TC of 2:17 phase increases, whereas the TC of 2:14:1 phase decreases. After being re-annealed at low temperatures, the grain sizes of hard phases are smaller than those in the alloys annealed at high temperatures. The effects of Co or Ti substitution for Fe are studied.展开更多

A high magnetic field accelerates ferrite transformation, changes the morphology of the transformed microstructures and increases the A3 and A1 temperature. In a magnetic field of 30T, the A1 temperature increases by about 37.1℃ for Fe-0.8C, the A3 temperature for pure Fe increases by about 33.1℃. The measured transformation temperature data are not consistent with calculation results using Weiss molecular field theory. Ferrite grains are elongated and aligned along the direction of magnetic field in Fe-0.4C and Fe-0.6C alloys by ferrite transformation, but elongated and aligned structure was not found in pure Fe, Fe-0.05C alloy and Fe-1.5Mn-0.11C-0.1V alloy.展开更多

The pure body-centered cubic (bcc)-Fe nanoparticles were prepared by reduction of Fe3O4 nanoparticles powder in H2 atmosphere. The structure, morphology and magnetic'properties of the products were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), thermogravimetric analysis-differential scanning calorimetry (TGA-DSC) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The results showed that the as-prepared Fe3O4 nanoparticles had a relatively homogeneous size. The particle diameters became bigger with the increase of reaction time. The growth kinetics of the Fe3O4 nanoparticles was also briefly discussed. The products exhibited superparamagnetic properties at room temperature and the specific saturation magnetization was dependent on the particle sizes.展开更多

Each of sub-units is composed of two gold rods in transverse arrangement and one gold rod in longitudinal arrangement. Simulating electromagnetic responses of the structure, we verify that the structure exhibits the double Fano resonances, which originate from the coupling between magnetic quadrupoles and electric dipoles and the coupling between electric quadrupoles and electric dipoles. Simulation results also demonstrate that the structure is polarization-insensitive and shows an analogue of electromagnetically induced transparency at the two Fano resonances. Such a plasmonic structure has potential applications in photoelectric elements.展开更多

The influences of electric and magnetic fields on the transmission intensity are theoretically and experimentally analyzed and investigated. Both the electric and magnetic fields can manipulate the molecular arrangement of LC to array a certain angle without changing the refractive index of the LC. Therefore, light loss in the PCF varies with the electric and magnetic fields whereas the peak wavelengths remain constant. The experimental results show that the transmission intensity decreases with the increase of the electric and magnetic fields. The cut-off electric field is 0.899 V/um at 20 Hz and the cut-off magnetic field is 195 m T. This simple and compacted optical modulator will have a great prospect in sensing applications.展开更多

Here, this technique has been used on composition design for La(Fe,Si/Al)(13)-based materials, which are regarded as one of the most promising magnetic refrigerants in practice. Three prediction models are built by using a machine learning algorithm called gradient boosting regression tree(GBRT) to essentially find the correlation between the Curie temperature(TC), maximum value of magnetic entropy change((?SM)(max)),and chemical composition, all of which yield high accuracy in the prediction of TC and(?SM)(max). The performance metric coefficient scores of determination(R^2) for the three models are 0.96, 0.87, and 0.91. These results suggest that all of the models are well-developed predictive models on the challenging issue of generalization ability for untrained data, which can not only provide us with suggestions for real experiments but also help us gain physical insights to find proper composition for further magnetic refrigeration applications.展开更多

In this work, the magnetic field measurement based on the individual solid spin NOON state is investigated. Based on the tunable effective coupling coefficient, we propose a generation scheme of the three-spin NOON state, i.e, the Creenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (CHZ) state, and discussed the mea- surement resolution reduction due to decoherence. It is unnecessary to entangle spins as many as possible when decoherence exists. In practice, defect spins in diamond and alp donors with long coherence time can be applied with current techniques in the nano-scaled high resolution magnetic measurement.展开更多

The measured transformation temperature data are not consistent with calculation results using Weiss molecular field theory. Ferrite grains are elongated and aligned along the direction of magnetic field in Fe-0.4C and Fe-0.6C alloys by ferrite transformation, but elongated and aligned structure was not found in pure Fe, Fe-0.05C alloy and Fe-1.5Mn-0.11C-0.1V alloy.

文摘The facile hydrothennal method was used to synthesize Fe3O4 nanoparticles with an average diameter of 1 1nm. The products exhibited superparamagnetic properties at room temperature and the specific saturation magnetization was dependent on the particle sizes.

文摘A combined structure with the unit cell consisting of four sub-units with 90° rotation in turn is designed. Such a plasmonic structure has potential applications in photoelectric elements.

文摘Using the numerical unrestricted Hartree-Fock approach, we study the ground state of a two-orbital model describing newly discovered FeAs-based superconductors. We observe the competition of a (0, π) mode spin-density wave and the superconductivity as the doping concentration changes. side where the magnetism and superconductivity coexist. The orbital even, and coexisting sxy +dx^2-y^2 wave (even parity). There might be a small region in the electron-doping superconducting pairing is found to be spin singlet,
文摘The principle and performance of a fiber-optic Faraday-effect magnetic-field sensor based on an yttrium iron garnet (YIG) and two flux concentrations are described. A single polarization-maintaining optical fiber links the sensor head to the source and detection system, in which the technique of phase shift cancellation is used to cancel the phase shift that accumulatein the optical fiber. Flux concentrators were exploited to enhance the YIG crystal magneto-optic sensitivity .The sensor system exhibited a noise-equivalent field of 8 pT/√Hz and a 3 dB bandwidth of ~10 MHz.

文摘One new mixed-valence heptanuclear manganese complex, [Mn^ⅡMn^Ⅲ6O2L6-(NaCH3COO)2(CH3COO)4](1)(L = 3-ethoxy-6-((2-hydroxyethyl)imino)methyl) phenol, was synthesized by treating the Schiff-base ligand with Mn(acac)3·4H2O and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, thermogravimetric analyses and X-ray single-crystal diffraction. 1 has a similar new mixed-valence heptanuclear structure. The magnetic measurements indicate that 1 exhibits the antiferromagnetic interactions.

文摘We propose a novel light intensity modulator based on magnetic fluid and liquid crystal(LC) filled photonic crystal fibers(PCFs). This simple and compacted optical modulator will have a great prospect in sensing applications.

文摘Data-mining techniques using machine learning are powerful and efficient for materials design, possessing great potential for discovering new materials with good characteristics. These results suggest that all of the models are well-developed predictive models on the challenging issue of generalization ability for untrained data, which can not only provide us with suggestions for real experiments but also help us gain physical insights to find proper composition for further magnetic refrigeration applications.

文摘Our recent progress on magnetic entropy change(S) involving martensitic transition in both conventional and metamagnetic NiMn-based Heusler alloys is reviewed. For the conventional alloys, where both martensite and austenite exhibit ferromagnetic(FM) behavior but show different magnetic anisotropies,a positive S as large as 4.1 J·kg^-1·K^-1 under a field change of 0-0.9 T was first observed at martensitic transition temperature T M~197 K.Through adjusting the Ni:Mn:Ga ratio to affect valence electron concentration e/a,T M was successfully tuned to room temperature, and a large negative S was observed in a single crystal. The △S attained 18.0 J·kg^-1·K^-1 under a field change of 0-5 T.We also focused on the metamagnetic alloys that show mechanisms different from the conventional ones.It was found that post-annealing in suitable conditions or introducing interstitial H atoms can shift the T M across a wide temperature range while retaining the strong metamagnetic behavior, and hence, retaining large magnetocaloric effect(MCE) and magnetoresistance(MR).The melt-spun technique can disorder atoms and make the ribbons display a B2 structure, but the metamagnetic behavior,as well as the MCE,becomes weak due to the enhanced saturated magnetization of martensites. We also studied the effect of Fe/Co co-doping in Ni 45(Co1-xFex)5 Mn36.6In13.4 metamagnetic alloys.Introduction of Fe atoms can assist the conversion of the Mn-Mn coupling from antiferromagnetic to ferromagnetic, thus maintaining the strong metamagnetic behavior and large MCE and MR.Furthermore,a small thermal hysteresis but significant magnetic hysteresis was observed around TM in Ni51Mn49-xInx metamagnetic systems, which must be related to different nucleation mechanisms of structural transition under different external perturbations.

文摘The maximum entangled number state (NOON state) can improve the sensitivity of physical quantity measure- ment to the Heisenberg limit 1/N. In practice, defect spins in diamond and alp donors with long coherence time can be applied with current techniques in the nano-scaled high resolution magnetic measurement.
