Interaction Rule between Rare Earths and LowMelting Point Elements in Fe-,Cu-,AI-,Ni-Base Liquid Solutions

Interaction rule between representative RE and Sn, Sb, Pb, Cu, S, P low melting point elements respectively in Fe , Cu , Al , Ni base liquid solutions including totally 34 ternary and quarternary systems was investigated. For each system some thermodynamic properties were obtained, such as the standard free energies of equilibrium reactions, activity interaction coefficients etc ..

Softswitch Based Solution to Make Network Intelligent

The factors, such as the network optimization or the network amelioration by fixed telecommunication network operators, the convergence of the Personal Handy-phone System (PHS) network and the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), the integration of PSTN and the Third Generation Mobile Communication (3G) Network, the broadband and multimedia based communication networks, causes the requirement for fixed network’s intelligentization. The Softswitch is a feasible approach to meet this kind of requirement. The solution to make the network comprehensively intelligent based on Softswitch is highly advantageous, which enriches communication services and promotes Fixed and Mobile Convergence (FMC).

TERNARY Cu(Ⅱ)(ATP)AND HETEROAROMATIC N BASE COMPLEXES IN SOLUTION:STABILITY CONSTANTS AND ANTITUMOR MECHANISM EXPLORATION

The stability of the complexes of four pyridine-like ligands with Cu(ATP)^(2-) was studied and by comparing the stability constants of the ternary complexes[Cu(ATP)L]^(2-) with those of the binary complexes[CuL]^(2+),a stacking interaction between the pyridine ring and the purine ring of ATP is indicated.It is possible to interpret the antitumor mechanism of[Pt(NH_3)_8 (N-het)Cl]Cl in terms of this stacking interaction.

DIRECT TITRATION OF VERY WEAK ACIDS(BASES)IN AQUEOUS SOLUTION WITH STRONG BASES(ACIDS)USING VISUAL END-POINT INDICATION WITHOUT INDICATOR

This paper reports a new method of titration for very weak acids and bases using the appearance of incisions on oscillopolarogram to indicate the end-point.This method has the advantages of rapidity,simplicity,no indicator needed as well as good precision.

Skin formation in drying a film of soft matter solutions：Application of solute based Lagrangian scheme

When a film of soft matter solutions is being dried, a skin layer often forms at its surface, which is a gel-like elastic phase made of concentrated soft matter solutions. We study the dynamics of this process by using the solute based Lagrangian scheme which was proposed by us recently. In this scheme, the process of the gelation（i.e., the change from sol to gel） can be naturally incorporated in the diffusion equation. Effects of the elasticity of the skin phase, the evaporation rate of the solvents, and the initial concentration of the solutions are discussed. Moreover, the condition for the skin formation is provided.

THE ANALYTICAL SOLUTIONS BASED ON THE CONCEPT OF FINITE ELEMENT METHODS

On the basis of the concept of finite element methods, the rigorous analytical solutions of structural response in terms of the design variables are researched in this paper. The spatial trusses are taken as an example for the solution of the analytical expressions of the explicit displacements which are proved mathematically; then some conclusions are reached that are useful to structural sensitivity analysis and optimization. In the third part of the paper, a generalized geometric programming method is sugguested for the optimal model with the explicit displacement. Finally, the analytical solutions of the displacements of three trusses are given as examples.

Optimization Model: Resource Distribution for Risk Factors of Type 2 Diabetes Prevention

Type 2 Diabetes, a lifestyle disease, can be prevented/delayed by adopting a healthy lifestyle. Awareness of the same amongst the citizens can be one of the best ways to initiate a decline in the positive census of the disease. We use this paper to illustrate an optimization model where the budget can be distributed based on the census data of the risk factors involved. It uses a non-linear programming model and can easily be modified into a linear one. The alternative options and constraints too, are mentioned in the paper. The results show that the mid-western states need more share of the allocation based on risk factors. The model distributes the percentage of the budget allocated to different states based on a fixed risk factor constraint.

Engineering the Thermoelectrical Properties of PEDOT:PSS by Alkali Metal Ion Effect

Engineering the electrical properties of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate)(PEDOT:PSS)holds great potential for various applications such as sensors,thermoelectric(TE)generators,and hole transport layers in solar cells.Various strategies have been applied to achieve optimal electrical properties,including base solution post-treatments.However,the working mechanism and the exact details of the structural transformations induced by base post-treatments are still unclear.In this work,we present a comparative study on the post-treatment effects of using three common and green alkali base solutions:namely LiOH,NaOH,and KOH.The structural modifications induced in the film by the base post-treatments are studied by techniques including atomic force microscopy,grazing-incidence wide-angle X-ray scattering,ultraviolet–visible–near-infrared spectroscopy,and attenuated total reflectance Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy.Base-induced structural modifications are responsible for an improvement in the TE power factor of the films,which depends on the basic solution used.The results are explained on the basis of the different affinity between the alkali cations and the PSS chains,which determines PEDOT dedoping.The results presented here shed light on the structural reorganization occurring in PEDOT:PSS when exposed to high-pH solutions and may serve as inspiration to create future pH-/ion-responsive devices for various applications.

Crystals based on solid solution of Ag_(1-x) Tl_xBr_(1-x) I_x for the manufacturing of IR fibers

For the development of fiber optics for the range from 0.2 to 50.0 μm, one needs light-stable, nonhygroscopic, ductile crystals that would be transparent within this spectral range and have a lack of cleavage, and from which the flexible infrared （IR） fibers are extruded. The crystals based on solid solutions of silver and monadic thallium haides meet the conditions listed above. Consequently, by differential thermal and x ray analyses, we study the TIBr-TII phase diagram using the crystals with optimal compositions, which we grow ourselves. We also manu- facture light-stable nanocrystalline IR fibers that are transparent at longer wavelengths compared with AgC1-AgBr fibers.

Experimental research on cholesterol solution concentration sensing based on tilted fiber Bragg grating

The cholesterol solution concentration sensing characteristics based on tilted fiber Bragg grating(TFBG) are investigated by means of theoretical analysis and experiments. We prepare two groups of cholesterol solutions with the same concentration range and different refractive index ranges. The sensitivity of the two groups of solutions was 11.83 pm·m L/mg and 124.79 pm·m L/mg, respectively. The results show that the sensitivity of cholesterol solution can be improved by adjusting the refractive index range. This conclusion is valuable for measuring the concentration of fat-soluble solution.

Biodiversity-friendly Agricultural Practices in the Indigenous Agricultural Systems in the Biodiversity Corridor of the Alto Paraná Atlantic Forest (Paraguay)

Agricultural systems result of the coevolution between social and natural systems,where biodiversity and natural resources play an important role,emerging interactions between crops and the natural environment that allow the development of ecological processes which interact with external inputs.This research aims to describe the agricultural practices developed by the Guarani Indigenous people in the agricultural systems located within the biodiversity corridor of the Upper Parana Atlantic Forest.This exploratory study is focused on multiple cases,with a qualitative approach and from data collected during 2017 and 2018 in eleven indigenous communities.The main practices developed for the management of biodiversity are polyculture,rotation,and embroideries;they also practice agroforestry and livestock-raising.The main difficulty they face is the reduction of the surrounding biodiversity,which affects the sustainability of the system.This study shows ways for nature-based solutions and ecosystem-based adaptation according to current needs for greening the economy.
