1 Introduction.With the continuous growth of the global population,the energy demand continues to increase.However,due to the dominance of fossil fuels in global energy and fossil fuels are non-renewable,it has led to...1 Introduction.With the continuous growth of the global population,the energy demand continues to increase.However,due to the dominance of fossil fuels in global energy and fossil fuels are non-renewable,it has led to the global energy crisis[1].Besides,the use of fossil fuels will generate a mass of air pollutants(e.g.,carbon dioxide,sulfur dioxide,etc.),which will cause serious environmental pollution,climate change[2],etc.To resolve the aforementioned issues,countries around the world have implemented a variety of measures hoping to fundamentally adjust the global energy structure and achieve sustainable development.Thereinto,“Paris Agreement”reached in 2015 under the framework of“United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change”aims to control the increase in the average temperature of the globe to within 2°C below preindustrial levels,and thereafter to peak global greenhouse gas emissions as soon as possible,continuously decreasing thereafter[3].United Kingdom plans to reduce the average exhaust emissions of“new cars”to approximately 50–70 g/km by 20230,which is roughly half of what it is now[4].In addition,China proposed a plan at“United Nations General Assembly”in 2020 to peak carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and strive to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.It is a fact that the whole world is committed to changing the current energy structure,protecting the Earth’s ecology,and achieving global sustainable development[5].展开更多

Once it occurs, it produces a huge short-circuit current that poses a great risk to the safe operation of...Inter-turn fault is a serious stator winding short-circuit fault of permanent magnet synchronous machine(PMSM). Once it occurs, it produces a huge short-circuit current that poses a great risk to the safe operation of PMSM. Thus, an inter-turn short-circuit fault(ITSCF) diagnosis method based on high frequency(HF) voltage residual is proposed in this paper with proper HF signal injection. First, the analytical models of PMSM after the ITSCF are deduced. Based on the model, the voltage residual at low frequency(LF) and HF can be obtained. It is revealed that the HF voltage residual has a stronger ITSCF detection capability compared to the LF voltage residual. To obtain optimal fault signature, a 3-phase symmetrical HF voltage is injected into the machine drive system, and the HF voltage residuals are extracted. The fault indicator is defined as the standard deviation of the 3-phase HF voltage residuals. The effectiveness of the proposed ITSCF diagnosis method is verified by experiments on a triple 3-phase PMSM. It is worth noting that no extra hardware equipment is required to implement the proposed method.展开更多

From some training data, it can diagnose whether or not there is a short circuit beginning, and which is important for predictive maintenance. This work proposes a technique for early detection of a short circuit between the turns aiming at its implementation in a real plant. Electric vehicles are developing prosperously in recent years.Lithium-ion batteries have become the dominant energy storage device in electric vehicle application because of its advantages such as high power density a...Electric vehicles are developing prosperously in recent years.Lithium-ion batteries have become the dominant energy storage device in electric vehicle application because of its advantages such as high power density and long cycle life.To ensure safe and efficient battery operations and to enable timely battery system maintenance,accurate and reliable detection and diagnosis of battery faults are necessitated.In this paper,the state-of-the-art battery fault diagnosis methods are comprehensively reviewed.First,the degradation and fault mechanisms are analyzed and common abnormal behaviors are summarized.Then,the fault diagnosis methods are categorized into the statistical analysis-,model-,signal processing-,and data-driven methods.Their distinctive characteristics and applications are summarized and compared.Finally,the challenges facing the existing fault diagnosis methods are discussed and the future research directions are pointed out.展开更多

The SVSF is a type of sliding...Recently, a new type of IMM (interacting multiple model) method was introduced based on the relatively new SVSF (smooth variable structure filter), and is referred to as the IMM-SVSF. The SVSF is a type of sliding mode estimator that is formulated in a predictor-corrector fashion. This strategy keeps the estimated state bounded within a region of the true state trajectory, thus creating a stable and robust estimation process. The IMM method may be utilized for fault detection and diagnosis, and is classified as a model-based method. In this paper, for the purposes of fault detection, the IMM-SVSF is applied through simulation on a simple battery system which is modeled from a hybrid electric vehicle.展开更多
