Structural characteristics of titanium oxide layer on titanium matrix wereinvestigated by Rutherford Backscattering Spectroscopy (RBS) , Auger ElectronSpectroscopy(AES) and X- ray diffraction, It has been identified that thetitanium oxide layers have rutile structure. The mechanical properties of itssurface were measured by microhardness test, pin-on-disc wear experiment andscratch adhesion test. The blood-compatibility of the titanium oxide layers ofdifferent thickness was studied by blood clotting time measurement. It is shownthat as the thickness of the titanium oxide layers increases, the surfacemechanical properties and bloodcompatibility of these layers are obviouslyimproved. 展开更多
