In this paper the homogenization method is improved to develop one kind of dual coupled approximate method, which reflects both the macro-scope properties of whole structure and its loadings, and micro-scope configuration properties of composite materials. The boundary value problem of woven membrane is considered, the dual asymptotic expression of the exact solution is given, and its approximation and error estimation are discussed. Finally the numerical example shows the effectiveness of this dual coupled method. 展开更多

Temperature coefficients of grain boundary resistance variations in a ZnO/p-Si heterojunction 被引量:1

Heteroepitaxial undoped ZnO films were grown on Si (100) substrates by radio-frequency reactive sputtering, and then some of the samples were annealed at N2-800℃ (Sample 1, S1) and 02-800℃ (Sample 2, S2) for 1 h, respectively. The electrical transport characteristics of a ZnO/p-Si heterojunction were investigated. We found two interesting phenomena. First, the temperature coefficients of grain boundary resistances of S 1 were positive (positive temperature coefficients, PTC) while that of both the as-grown sample and S2 were negative (negative temperature coefficients, NTC). Second, the I-V properties of S2 were similar to those common p-n junctions while that of both the as-grown sample and S 1 had double Schottky barrier behaviors, which were in contradiction with the ideal p-n heterojunction model. Combined with the deep level transient spectra results, this revealed that the concentrations of intrinsic defects in ZnO grains and the densities of interfacial states in ZnO/p-Si heterojunction varied with the different annealing ambiences, which caused the grain boundary barriers in ZnO/p-Si heterojunction to vary. This resulted in adjustment electrical properties ofZnO/p-Si heterojunction that may be suitable in various applications. 展开更多

A new method to solve the boundary value problem arising in the study of scattering of two-dimensional surface water waves by a discontinuity in the surface boundary conditions is presented in this paper. The discontinuity arises due to the floating of two semi-infinite inertial surfaces of different surface densities. Applying Green's second identity to the potential functions and appropriate Green's functions, this problem is reduced to solving two coupled Fredholm integral equations with regular kernels. The solutions to these integral equations are used to determine the reflection and the transmission coefficients. The results for the reflection coefficient are presented graphically and are compared to those obtained earlier using other research methods. It is observed from the graphs that the results computed from the present analysis match exactly with the previous results. 展开更多

A computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling of the gas-solids two-phase flow in a circulating fluidized bed (CFB) riser is carried out. The Eularian-Eularian method with the kinetic theory of granular flow is used to solve the gas-solids two-phase flow in the CFB riser. The wall boundary condition of the riser is defined based on the Johnson and Jackson wall boundary theory (Johnson & Jackson, 1987) with specularity coefficient and particle-wall restitution coefficient.The numerical results show that these two coefficients in the wall boundary condition play a major role in the predicted solids lateral velocity, which affects the solid particle distribution in the CFB riser. And the effect of each of the two coefficients on the solids distribution also depends on the other one. The generality of the CFD model is further validated under different operatin~ conditions of the CFB riser. 展开更多

Effect of Nitrogen Doping on the Electrical Properties of 3C-SiC Thin Films for High-Temperature Sensors Applications 被引量:2

For sensor development, the preparation of sensor materials and study of its electrical properties, such as resistivity, barrier height of grain boundaries, and temperature coefficient of resistivity, are important in addition to structural properties and these have to be optimized. In the present work, 3C-SiC thin film with in situ doping of nitrogen is prepared through low- pressure chemical vapor deposition by using methyl trichloro silane, ammonia, and hydrogen as precursors. Electrical properties of deposited 3C-SiC thin films with varying nitrogen doping concentration through four probe technique are studied. Atomic force microscopy investigations are carried out to study the grain size on and average root-mean-squared roughness 3C-SiC thin films. A decrease in the degree of crystallinity is observed in nitrogen-doped 3C-SiC thin films. The sheet resistivity of nitrogen-doped 3C-SiC thin film is found to decrease with increase in temperature in the range from 303 to 823 K. The sheet resistivity, average temperature coefficient of resistance, and barrier height of the grain boundaries of film doped with 17 at.% of nitrogen are 0.14 cm, -1.0 x 10-n/K, and 0.01 eV, respectively. Comparing all the nitrogen-doped 3C-SiC thin films, the film doped with 17 at.% of nitrogen exhibits an improved structural and electrical properties and it can be used as sensing material for high-temperature applications. 展开更多

A comparative study on the vertical distributions of aerosol optical properties during haze and floating dust weather in Shanghai was conducted based on the data obtained from a micro pulse lidar.There was a distinct difference in layer thickness and extinction coefficient under the two types of weather conditions.Aerosols were concentrated below 1 km and the aerosol extinction coefficients ranged from 0.25 to 1.50km^(-1) on haze days.In contrast,aerosols with smaller extinction coefficients(0.20 0.35 km^(-1)) accumulated mainly from the surface to 2 km on floating dust days.The seasonal variations of extinction and aerosol optical depth(AOD) for both haze and floating dust cases were similar greatest in winter,smaller in spring,and smallest in autumn.More than 85%of the aerosols appeared in the atmosphere below 1 km during severe haze and floating dust weather.The diurnal variation of the extinction coefficient of haze exhibited a bimodal shape with two peaks in the morning or at noon,and at nightfall,respectively.The aerosol extinction coefficient gradually increased throughout the day during floating dust weather.Case studies showed that haze aerosols were generated from the surface and then lifted up,but floating dust aerosols were transported vertically from higher altitude to the surface.The AOD during floating dust weather was higher than that during haze.The boundary layer was more stable during haze than during floating dust weather. 展开更多
